Delilah hurriedly climbed the long, spiraling staircase leading to the Astronomy Tower, her robes slightly disheveled, and her tie loosely hanging around her neck. She adjusted her favorite recently bought alien glasses and brushed away her untamed frizzy hair stuck out in all directions, a clear sign of her haste to reach the class, even though she was early to the class, strangely. A pair of alien earrings were dangling from her ears. Her vibrant green shoes adorned with alien stickers drew a lot of curious looks and giggles but Delilah didn't notice, she didn't care. In her carefree mind, her fashion style was EPIC !
As she reached the top, the cool night air greeted her, brushing against her cheeks. Her excitement to be in the Astronomy Tower overpowered any concerns about her messy uniform and hair. The tower was blessed with its proximity to the moon and stars, and the glass dome above allowed her a glimpse of the night sky in all its glory.
The room inside was open and uncluttered, with dark drapes and glittering silver tapestries hanging on the stone walls. The clear, glassy areas in the dome-shaped room offered an unobstructed view of the bare and dark sky above, enhancing the magical ambiance.
Amidst the few students already present, Delilah noticed an empty stool beside a boy who appeared to be her age, his green eyes were the first thing that stood up to her, Del liked everything that was green. She made her way over to the empty stool beside him. She stared at the sky above her head and reached up carefully to take off her alien-themed glasses, revealing her wide hazel eyes. She smiled sliding them up on her head as she did so . The glasses had been a quirky accessory that she loved, but she wanted to get a better look at the boy beside her.
"Did you ever wonder wether aliens abducted humans based on their beauty ?"
Delilah blurt out, a playful grin on her face."You'd be the first one to get abducted." She readjusted the glasses back on her nose, ensuring they sat comfortably. As she turned her attention back to the sky, her hazel eyes shone with renewed excitement. She marveled at the stars once more, tracing the constellations with her fingers.
"You are Maverick Castle ! I've heard your name somewhere, you know it's very reckless to go around with people shouting your name to strangers. Anyway, my name is Delilah, people call me Del, you can call me Delilah ! "

Stargazing With Castle

It may not be such a secret that Maverick Castle was not such a pleasure to have around. The kid was terribly self-centred and could be rude at times, and he was starting to think rude things about the fellow pupil who had just plumped herself to the seat next to him.
But the girl said the right thing, the words that became the petrol to fuel his ego, and he dropped the possibility of lifting his nose up to point at the sky when looking at her, at least for the moment. All because she implied, not in a very subtle way, that he was the most attractive person alive. That, and that he was well-known enough so she knew his name.
She was not sure where she had heard his name though, so Maverick flashed his self-dubbed 'prince smile', the smile he had often practised in front of the mirror to make sure it had a charming effect on most other people.
"It may be from the Hogwarts Headliner," he said, not fully understanding what she meant by the danger of going around with people shouting one's name to strangers but not really wanting to ask about it, either. "Or from the broom racing team. But likely the former, I've just made to the team this semester. So, you said your name's Delilah? You seem like a nice person to have around."

@Maverick CastleDelilah chuckled softly as Maverick responded with a mixture of self-assuredness and charm. She tilted her head, regarding him with a playful glint in her eyes.
"Well, Maverick, it's not every day you get to sit next to a Hogwarts Headliner and a broom racing team member," she said, her tone teasing and sarcastic. "Guess I should be honored, huh?" She raised an eyebrow in mock seriousness before breaking into a mischievous grin.
Delilah couldn't help but find Maverick's confident demeanor amusing. She listened to his responses with a grin, fully aware of the egoistic aura he projected. It wasn't every day she encountered someone so unabashedly self-assured, and oddly enough, she found it intriguing.
Del had always held a certain view of arrogant individuals – a view that leaned more toward amusement than irritation. She understood that some might find it off-putting, but for her, it was simply another shade in the spectrum of personalities.
As she spoke, she couldn't help but notice his egoistic smile which she found oddly endearing. Delilah leaned back in her seat, crossing her arms casually. "Delilah's the name, and as for being a nice person to have around... well, let's just say I add a bit of flavor to the mix." She winked, her expression lighthearted.
Delilah didn't quite consider herself a "nice" person in the conventional sense, and she was well aware of it. Her words often flowed without a filter, guided by her genuine thoughts and feelings rather than a concern for diplomacy. This unfiltered approach, while rooted in authenticity, sometimes led her to be inadvertently mean or offensive without realizing it.
She shifted her gaze to the horizon outside the tower, where the first stars were beginning to twinkle in the darkening sky. "You know," she mused, "I've always found the night sky full of secrets. Makes you wonder what's out there beyond what we can see."
Delilah turned her attention back to Maverick with a smirk. " Professor's said there might be a meteor shower tonight. Now that's something worth staying up for."
She leaned a bit closer to him, her voice conspiratorial. "Just hope it's not as attention-grabbing as your broom racing skills. Don't want to be overshadowed by fame, you know?" Her playful tone danced on the edge of flirtation.

Stargazing With Castle

There were a lot of sides Maverick Castle did not, or had not, let others see through his confident, charismatic demeanour; and one of them was his dreamy side. 'Dreamy' may not be the correct definition, but honestly, for the love of all living beings, it was the best word he could come up with. Not the kind of romantic dreamer, but the kind who find the unknown intriguing not for the sake of knowledge, but rather for the stirring of imagination and speculation. Dub it 'philosophical' if one wishes, or a combination of dreamy, creative, sentimental, and philosophical; after all, he agreed with what Antoine de Saint-Exupéry said about what gave beauty to things was something invisible.
And this student had awakened this side of him with her words. "Yeah, I suppose so," said the part-Veela gently. "The stars and many other things, what gives them their beauty is something we can't see - have you ever heard this?" His heart trembled from the mere saying of the words, it was such a lovely sentence...
To her remark of the meteor shower, he replied, "May not be as pretty as you imagine. Meteor showers always sound interesting and beautiful, but the one I saw last year isn't worth it. Besides, I don't think Professor Baird would give us permission to stay up late to watch it. But seriously, by all means, what did you mean by 'overshadowed by fame'?"

As he spoke about the invisible beauty that adorned the stars and other mysteries, Delilah found herself nodding in agreement, a thoughtful expression replacing her usual Cheshire cat's grin. The idea resonated with her, appealing to that part of her that also found fascination in the unseen, the unspoken. She regarded him with a newfound curiosity, realizing that there was more to Maverick Castle than met the eye. It was like discovering a hidden layer beneath the confident exterior she had initially perceived.
"Yeah, I've heard that," she replied, her tone quieter, more contemplative. "There's something magical about what we can't see, isn't there? It's like there's a whole world of possibilities just beyond our reach, waiting to be explored."
Growing up, she recalled fond memories of sneaking onto the roof of her childhood home to stargaze.
On that rooftop, she would lay down, tracing constellations with her finger and contemplating the mysteries of the universe. It was during one of those nights that her fascination with the stars took an intriguing turn. Del, with the innocence of childhood wonder, began to believe that the twinkling lights held secrets beyond human comprehension – secrets, perhaps, about extraterrestrial life.
"I used to go up on the roof every night," she confessed to Maverick, her eyes alight with nostalgia. "There's something magical about the stars, don't you think? I used to imagine they were winking at me, like they had secrets to share." Her voice carried a whimsical tone, a hint of the dreamer that still lingered within her.
Delilah's gaze returned to the darkening sky outside, the stars now more pronounced against the inky backdrop. The mention of the meteor shower took a backseat as Maverick's words lingered in her mind.
"Sometimes," she continued with a playful glint, "I'd even convince myself that there were aliens up there, watching us. It's silly, I know, but there's a part of me that still wonders." Delilah let out a light laugh.
She chuckled at Mavericks question, leaning back in her seat again, "I just meant, I hope the meteor shower doesn't steal the spotlight from your broom racing glory. Wouldn't want your fans to forget about you."
Teasing those with an air of arrogance was a sport Delilah relished.

Stargazing With Castle

Even though Maverick Castle was often self-centred and certainly despised people who shared their personal problems or complaints in public (yes, he had been laughing about those people who kept on babbling about how they did not like their school or how they made idiotic posts that screamed they were they most unfortunate beings in the whole universe on social media with his beloved uncle), he was sincerely interested in listening to others sharing their nostalgic memories, as well as their funny stories or experiences.
Delilah had just told him about how she used to climb to the rooftop every evening, and Maverick immediately remembered how he, oddly it was his younger self out of all of the children out there, had done it only once. And it was not even because he was curious, but rather because he was in a way being dared by his cousins.
The preteen Maverick could see it so plainly, as if the scene was rolling right before his green eyes - Aunt Sam and Uncle Taylor's house... a window in their guest's bedroom...
Cousin Tommy and Cousin Juliet jumped out of the window. In less than a minute, the two were sitting comfortably on the roof right in front of the guest's bedroom's window. "Look, aren't things different from here?" Tommy called at him.
Six-year-old Maverick peered through the window, only his head and neck were leaning out, trying to get the view his maternal cousins were talking about.
"What are you waiting for? Come sit with us here! It's wonderful!"
"But isn't it dangerous?" Maverick tried to reason with them.
Juliet scoffed. "What's so dangerous about this? The two of us do it often, and nothing ever happened to us. Right, Tommy?" Earning a nod from her brother, the blonde continued, "Unless you're scared, Maverick Castle? If you're afraid, then that's fine by us. That's your own problem. Just grab a chair and sit by the window, but no need to lecture us as if you know better."
Maverick somehow felt bad, but he guessed that if his cousins never got into trouble for sitting on the roof, he might as well try it. Not that he really wanted to do so, but he did not like the looks they shot at him...
The second year coughed at his classmate. "I did it only once," he admitted casually. "But talking about aliens, who knows, they may be really are out there somewhere. Not in our Solar System, perhaps, but the universe is so grand and seemingly limitless. What do our current astronomers know? They haven't even managed to investigate the Solar System. So there's always a possibility. But they may not be like those depicted in Muggle literature, or so my uncle says."
At Delilah's words on his fame, Maverick merely smiled. It was weird, but this discussion about aliens and space seemed to be much more intriguing than about his fame, at least for the time being.
