Born to a Ministry worker father and an alchemist mother, Florentia has never wanted for anything in life. Along with her younger brother and sister she has enjoyed a comfortable childhood filled with toy broomsticks, Bertie Botts beans and portkey access to France. The Thistlequills by no means claim pure blood - their line has been littered with muggle marriages producing an array of interesting cousins and intrigue at annual family gatherings. However one could say that they do come from old money and given the ancient links to the wizarding world, a Thistlequill name has always been of benefit.
Perhaps due to this lack of want, Florentia carries herself rather too assuredly in the world. While generally polite and friendly she can at times be brattish and bossy, often taking a childish view of the world in shades of simple black and white. At her best she is passionate and forthright; at her worst she is spiteful and vindictive. She has at this tender age a great deal to learn about interacting with her peers and her time at Hogwarts will no doubt have its own difficulties as she is thrust from her comfortable home life into a rather more unforgiving setting.
Florentia doe shave a tendency to put little effort into the things she has no interest in. Luckily this has rarely affected her studies as overall she enjoys learning and achieves quite well. While sometimes blinkered in her own world view, Florentia has a curiosity of mind that lends itself to an adventurous and also scholarly spirit.
