It was a calm, mildly warm (as warm as Scotland gets without it being a heatwave) kind of day and Delilah felt like having a walk, maybe she would sit by a tree and read too. She grabbed her old tattered book of 'The Tale of Peter Rabbit'. Delilah didn't care that it was a children's book, it was her favourite book because of the nostalgia it gave her.She decided she would take a walk by the lake. She hopped down the steps towards the Ravenclaw commonroom from her dorm with excitement. She had nothing planned for the day, she hadn't planned to meet up with anybody and she had all her homework done. As she was heading out of the Ravenclaw commonroom she looked down the large amount of steps. She had completely forgotten in her excitement that the Ravenclaw commonroom was in one of the towers high up in this magical castle, and with the moving steps...this might take a while.

Delilah finally got down all the stairs, half bent over with exhaustion. She was wearing a black, knee-length skirt, black tights, a white button up, red cardigan and her favourite purple high-topped converses. Once she had caught her breath she stood up and sighed, "Too..many..stairs.." She mumbled. Delilah could see the Great Lake in the distance, the one said to have creatures like merfolk and other such water creatures lurking in its depths. They say if you out your head under the water you could hear the merfolk sing.

The short muggle-born made her way towards the lake, already enjoying the fresh air, it was a lovely Sunday to be out in the sun, reading and enjoying life. An extremely calm day is what she was planning on. Soon enough she was standing by the edge of the water, her skirt blowing slightly in the breeze, her book in hand. She opened up her book and started reading as she paced about by the waters edge, wishing for an undisturbed bout of silence to read her favourite book of all time.

Siege's footsteps penetrated the wet ground and the grass, his shoes leaving some light marks upon the ground. He had just finished his History of Magic homework, quite tiring to be honest...But anyways yeah, after finishing up two homeworks in one day, things were pretty stressful for Siege...He wanted to cool off...And of course that meant swimming...He remembered the first time he came here was with Serena. Well, she kinda just showed up...She seemed to have quite the interest in swimming. Aside from that, Siege had wanted to take a bit of a longer dip in the Lake, as he wanted to just clear his mind off...

The boy kept on walking towards the Great Lake, not really paying attention, thinking about how his family was doing back home...He wondered how was his step-father and step-sister, was doing...Hopefully his step-sister behaved, and his step-dad as well...Both of them have streaks of trouble behind them...Wait a minute! Just like Siege...Seems to run within the family! Erm...Wait...Anyways, I'm getting off task here...

As the boy got nearer and nearer the lake, the cold wind from the lake hit his face, offering a refreshing whiplash with his long hair, flowing to the back a bit, only to come back to its messy and original form. I swear that hair always is messy, even if you gel it...It's like it's got magic in it...

"Huh?...Someone's there? A girl as well?" Muttered Siege, as he got close, stopping about ten feet from the girl...I guess Siege was walking pretty silently, and was enjoying the wind so much, that he didn't notice the girl standing on the shore of the lake. He slowly crept up behind her, stopping when he was almost next to her...She seemed pretty distracted...Very distracted in fact...With some childish book...

"Fancy meeting you here...Whoever you are" Said Siege comfortably, looking at the lake, his hands in his pocket, and standing to the right of the girl...

Delilah was quite into her book by the time Siege popped up next to her. He spoke and she squealed in fright, jumping away from him and slamming her book shut, ready to hit him with it. She then saw that she was in no immediate danger and it was partially her fault for not paying attention to the outside world. She straightened up and looked up at him, he was quite tall and she was quite short, there was like a heads height between them. "Is there a reason for you scaring the living daylights out of me?"  She half-yelled. Well what a calming day, not!

Delilah realise that she had never seen this guy before, at least not remembering him if she did. "Do I know you?" She asked, she was starting to get a sore neck from looking up at his eyes so long, so she looks him up and down then looks out onto the water. She still didn't find it fair how she was so short, this was quite a regular occurrence now, to hurt her neck looking at people. That couldn't be good for her spinal health, hopefully she would grow taller someday.

Her heart was still going really fast from getting a fright and that was making her cheeks flush a little bit as she tried to slow it down by breathing slowly and closing her eyes. She guessed it would look a little strange to the newcomer but her heart seems to have a problem with slowing down by itself sometimes, she has to force it to do what she wants.

Once her heart has calmed down she turned back to the tall guy and looked up at him again, waiting for him to speak.

"Came here for a bit of swim..." Said Siege casually speaking, as if he knew the girl. She was short... and Seemingly shy...Just another regular girl it seems...But she's yelling right off the bat...Kinda reminds him of Serena, when she's pissed of course...Anyways the boy looked down at the girl, who at this point was breathing hard, and turning red a bit, until she closed her eyes, and started to breath normally...

"I don't believe we've met...After all, the school's big..."
Siege says once more, comfortably. A strange thing people might do to those they haven't met, they wouldn't normally speak comfortably, do they? Siege eyed the girl lazily, his gaze never left her, a subconscious habit that he had.

Damn...Must be hard huh? To keep looking up? Well, it ain't my fault, that she's short, and I'm tall...But I guess it'll make things easier if we were sitting.

"Take a seat will ya? I'm kind of tired from doing stupid homework...Man do I hate that word..."
Said Siege, casually propping down, sitting wit his leg out, and his arms behind him. The cool breeze still flowed towards him, calming him a bit more, now that he's thinking about homework...You could safely say that he wasn't the fondest when it comes to Homework...

She looked at him, a little confused as to how he could speak to her so normally without them ever meeting before now. She was still annoyed as to why he frightened her but it would be rude to just walk away while they were having a conversation. She placed her book on the grass, placing her hands on the back of her skirt, sitting down with her legs in front of her and then removing her hands to place them on top of her lap. She enjoyed wearing skirts but the wind was a bit of a pest when it comes to not wanting everybody to see her underwear. "I don't mind homework, I just find it time consuming, less time for reading." Delilah laughed a bit as she thought of how much of a nerd she was, "I guess that makes me pretty boring then doesn't it?"

She smiled at him before lying down on the grass and looking up to the sky, her hands behind her head. The wind wasn't so crazy so she just left her skirt alone for now. She still found how comfortable he was talking to her strange. "Today is so nice, I really love days like this, I could sit here forever f I got the chance." She couldn't help but smile, her Scottish accent ringing loud and clear as she spoke, this guy had wanted to swim in the lake, Delilah could swim pretty well but she wasn't a fan of how dark the depths were, it kind of scared her. She preferred to swim in shallower locations, not ones that are rumoured to have couldn't creatures in them. Overall she was kind of enjoying some company, reading books was great and all but she hadn't held a proper conversation with anybody for a few days.

"I'm going to say something more bold than I would normally here. Other than getting a heart attack just sitting, well I'm lying but you get the point, just sitting with someone on a nice day makes me quite happy. And I don't even know your name." Delilah laughed again, looking over at him with a grin on her face.

"The name's Siege"
The boy says, with a lazy and dragged out voice.

*Sitting down eh?It's been a while since I thought like this...Yep...She's definitely boring and normal...Normally I'd walk away, but I'm just too damn lazy to do so...Plus...I'm still waiting for the opportune moment to swim...So...That's something..*

"What's yours, Smarty?"
Siege called every new Raven that he meets smarty, and as of this moment, he is just assuming that she's a Ravenclaw...Why you ask? Cause she's got bad jokes...Or bad humor? Which one is it? Anyways, yeah she's got the markings of a smarty alright. The grass felt weird to him...It wasn't all wet, it was pretty dry to be honest, that weirded Siege out for moment, although he wouldn't pay attention to it very much after.

Noticing her laying down and looking at the sky, Siege just looks out into the distance, observing the Great Lake and the lands around it.

"Ever get bored, just looking up?"
Asked Siege, who was obviously bored...He wanted to swim...but couldn't do so...Unless she's fine with his torso exposed...Which I doubt she is...or is she? Anyways, he was fidgeting a lot now, with his fingers, playing with each other, just to relieve him of the boredom he is in...

"Siege huh? It's Delilah, and if you call me smarty again the shoe will be on the back of your head." She snapped, glaring daggers into the back of his neck as she raised her right leg slightly before laying it back down. She closed her eyes briefly as she smiled, the thought of being able to kick somebody who was taller than her in the face would be fun. The only problem would be needing him to sit down.

She sat up next to him once again to see if there was anything in particular he was looking at, but it didn't look like it, "Yeah sometimes.." Delilah looked down at his hands, noticing them constantly moving, she wondered if he was okay but just left it. That was what Delilah hated about herself, even if she hated the person, in this case Siege, she would still care if there was something wrong, she didn't hate Siege but at the moment he wasn't very high on her list of people she liked. It was probably none of her business as to whether he was okay or not, but his hands constantly fiddling in her peripheral was really getting on her nerves.

After a little while she had given up, she turned to him and grabbed his hands in her own, completely unphased by what she was doing, she looked in his eyes and just said three words, "Please stop it." She probably should have worded it better. But nonetheless she didn't. Slowly it dawned on her that she and him, sitting by the lake side, she was holding his hands and looking in his eyes. If you saw that as you passed by, you might have thought something was going on. Her face went bright red as she let go of his hands and faced the water again, annoyed with herself for even letting herself do that just because him moving was annoying her.

"Alright, I'll stop calling you 'Smarty', Smarty"
Said Siege, smiling for the first time since they met. It was just his trademark smile of trouble that he always carried. It was certainly what a muggle trouble-maker would have, as he was a trouble-maker, though of wizard decent...Living in the muggle world for most of his life, fighting, punishments, and lectures was the life that he was most used to...He's like that one kid in muggle class, that teachers constantly barrage with lectures.

The girl suddenly grabbed his hand, stopping his fingers from fidgeting once more...Siege didn't really care, at least she wasn't boring, able to just speak her mind...

"Please stop it..."
Said Delilah, still holding his hands with her smaller hands. The girl, for some reason, slowly started turning crimson, as if blood was rushing to her head, and quickly snatched her hand away from Siege, then focusing on the water, seemingly looking frustrated...

*Hmn...I dunno about that snatching-hand-away-thing, but I've seen that look before...I believe it was when Serena was out here with me too...Well Serena's pretty shy...Maybe this girl's shy too? I still don't get what would they be shy about...*

Thoughts would quickly flood Siege, as he looked at the, now focused, girl, looking at the water, still looking frustrated...

"You a muggle-born Delilah?"
Asked Siege, clearly now interested in who the girl was...He was wondering if she's from the muggle world as well..Siege might be wizard born, but he spent all of his life on the streets of Glasgow, only to be taken in by Edward...It wasn't always a fun time...But it was something...

Delilah had disregarded the second time he called her smarty because of what happened right after, now she really regretted wearing a skirt. All she wanted to do right now was pull her knees up to her face to hide her embarrassment but she couldn't do that. Even if he didn't care about seeing her underwear, which would be strange, she cared if he saw them. She just stared out into the water, her eyebrows furrowed.

Then he asked if she was muggle-born, she didn't feel like talking at the moment but of course she couldn't be rude after he called her smarty twice and gave her the fright if her life. "Yeah, grew up in the Highlands, not that you asked twhere I came from but oh well, what about you?" She briefly looked over at him from the corner of her eye when she asked, but then looked back out onto the water. The faint ripples that occasionally pop up on the surface, possibly created by something underneath the surface that wthey couldn't see. Great, her first embarrassment story, she just randomly grabbed the hand of somebody she just met within an hour of that event. "What's wrong with me, thinking I should just do that."  Delilah mumbled, not knowing or caring if he heard, but he probably did, they were sitting pretty close. She looked down at her legs, luckily so far there weren't any grass stains on her tights, they would be a pain to get out.

She half wanted to forget this day and half didn't, she met somebody knew, that was good, but also mildly traumatised herself and possibly him. She felt extremely selfish in that moment. She was only 11 and extremely innocent to stuff like that. She had heard that there were a few people in their year that had boyfriend's and girlfriends and stuff, those were the people that held hands around the school, and she just decided to grab his hands just so they would stop annoying her. Obviously she knew it wasn't the same thing, but her mind was going crazy as to how selfish she felt for next to no reason.

"Glasgow..."
Said Siege, nostalgically looking at the distance, remembering his days in the alleyways and the fights he'd get into...Now those were fun...His body still remembers the pain that his step-father had incured upon him...Being the step-son of a former Commander of The Special Boat Service, was a hellish time, although fun at times as well. He was built better than most in his age group, being forced to do several punishing exercises, when his Edward(His step-father) had found out about his delinquent reputation in the City...Yeah He'll probably try out for beater in the quidditch team...

Noticing the girl still sulking a bit, Siege just put his hand on her shoulder, a damn habit now gotten from Serena, Thanks a lot Serena...You've ruined his Hard-Boiled character...Now anyways, yeah, ever since meeting Serena...he's been a lot more open...maybe more approachable? If it was the first day of school he'd have just been "Move it, or get knocked out, pick one" to the girl in front of him...Now...Not so much...

"You good there? I can't have someone passing out on me...I'll get expelled ya know?" Siege jokingly said, his hand still on her shoulder, unaware of what she was thinking, or what the situation could look like...Siege was that kind of boy...He'd do things that looks like he was meaning to, or seems like a perverted moron, but his care-free attitude is the thing to explain...He is also an incredibly blind boy when it comes to sensing the climate of the damn room...He may be a fighter...But he still is so damn innocent...
