It was that time of year again- of winter festivities, parties, friends, drama, and amazing food!
Bailey had decided that she and Kim would be putting on their now annual BaiKim ball- she didn’t give Kim much of a choice, but she needed him, and he needed to get out of whatever rut he was in. Bailey felt depressed just seeing her best friend in the lowest place she had ever seen a person, and she felt so helpless, not knowing how to help.
Pushing all of this out of her mind she started decorating the ball room for their ball.
She had started decorating at 8:30 that morning, and it was now 12:30. She had taken a small break to her lunch, and to change, but she was back and waiting for Kim to show up.
Bailey was dressed in a floor length blue dress, off the shoulders, and she had painted her nails an elegant matching Ravenclaw blue. White pearls were the main component of her accessories, as they were her earrings, her necklace, and the around the ankle part of her white heels. She had tried white / blue mascara, which accented her blue eyes nicely.
Maybe Kim will notice this- I doubt it, he doesn’t notice much anymore Bailey thought hopefully before her sub-conscience shot that idea down too.
She looked around the room- it has been decorated to perfection (in her eyes at least) with gold and white and blue being the main theme. Fairy lights were hung around the room, glistening. The room gave off an elegant sort of feel, classy but still homely as well- exactly what Bailey had wanted. The dance floor was in the middle of the room with a Christmas tree, a large one decorated with white and blue, in the right top corner for gifts to be exchanged under. The tables for eating, with their assigned seat name cards in front of each seat, were on the left side of the room.
Bailey had placed little bags with notes and little gifts under the tree, with a tag for all of the people who participated in the ball on each one.

Kim had joined her as she was putting the finishing touches on the tree, and she was happy to have him there with her, however absent he may seem and be.
Looking back over to Kim, Bailey smiled and said “ready for the doors to open, darling?”
As her watch ticked closer to one, Bailey walked towards the door and took the handles for the left door in her hands. Turning to Kim she said “we’ll get through this together- ok? You and me, forever. We’ll get through today, though this year and the next, and all the years that follow”

With that, she went to the front middle of the room, Kim at her side, ready with a smile to welcome all of their fellow students and their guests to the party.

Willow was nervous, but she was excited. This was her first event at Hogwarts! Surely it would be fun, and she stood out in the hallway, jittery, hoping that nothing would go wrong. Her friend March Calister would be her "date" for the night, and she wasn't sure whether she should go ahead inside or wait for her friend. She thought she looked a little silly just standing outside the ballroom, looking like she was about to have a heart attack, so she needed to do something soon. It was 1:00 sharp, and the Ravenclaw girl hated to be late, so she decided to just grit her teeth and go inside.
But of course, Willow being Willow, she couldn't bear to do it and stopped herself from walking into the door. Get a grip! she scolded herself, and gave a small shake of her shoulders, feeling the sillk of her gown slide against her arms.
She was wearing a beautiful deep blue dress, off-the-shoulder, a little butterfly necklace, and a diamond bracelet her mother had sent her for the occasion. The invitation had said formal, so she had tried her best to look nice, and even pinned her thick, vivid red hair up in an elegant bun. Hopefully, she wasn't overdressed either. Willow wallowed in her worry for a few more seconds, then looked around at the hallway. She closed her eyes for a second, took a deep breath, put on her most elegant and not-at-all terrified face, and walked into the ball.

Never in Lucie’s 11 years of living did they think that they’re mother’s fashion sense would come in handy, their dress is simple but nonetheless elegant.
Their sister Rita said that the blazer ruined the appeal of the dress, but Loren shut her down by saying that it made Lucie look sophisticated.
Lucie grinned at their bickering sisters before telling them that they’d see them after the BaiKim Ball, first thing they noticed when they entered the ballroom was Bailey Glade aka one of the hosts.
”Hello! It looks wonderful.” Lucie says cheerfully to the older year, they’d decided to not wear their glasses. Everything’s a little blurry but other than that it’s just a little okay.
Despite them wearing a blazer it’s still a little chilly, they childishly stick their hands out to catch a few snowflakes and manage to catch more than they intended to, not that they’re complaining. The only thought running through Lucie’s head is that their date and friends better remember this because this might be the only time they ever see Lucie in brightly colored clothes.
Lucie excuses themself to stand at the entrance and wait for Lyrra, they greet a girl in a blue dress that has red hair as well. Lucie thinks back to how excited they were for the ball and smile at how much it exceeded their expectations.

Mentioning: @anxietyKeith got ready for the ball, excited even though he was going alone. He put on his suit, a light blue and white one which his aunts sent him only days before. He had politely asked some of the house elves if they could iron it for him when they got the chance, which they did. He put his shoes on too, tying them and looking in a mirror, fixing his hair. then he looked at the eyeliner he had, and thought for a moment. "Should I put some on? Would anyone notice? Maybe people will like it? What if they don't? What if no one wants to talk to me cause of it?
Keith started to worry, so he just looked away from the eyeliner and grabbed his cologne and deodorant, putting them on and taking a few deep breaths. He looked in the mirror and nodded. He stared in the mirror for a few minutes, then looked at the eyeliner on the table. he grabbed it and before he could let himself think on it anymore, put a thin layer on.
Keith made sure it looked good in the mirror and smiled, if he stood back a little it wasn't super noticeable so that made him happy. Then he made his way down the tower and to the ballroom, arriving at 1:02, and stepping inside, looking around, very nervous and seeing Bailey and Kim, giving them a small wave before finding a pillar to stand by and watch for other people, waiting for anyone he knew to arrive to maybe talk to if he felt like it. He was nervous.

| ⠀ | It was Friday, December 22nd, 2023. Kim had almost forgotten about Bailey wanting to do their annual BaiKim Ball before the winter break. She apparently intended on making it an annual thing for them for some reason. He didn't really like adding something new to his already packed schedule because that in turn meant another responsibility to handle. But at the same time, it was @Bailey Glade. For some reason, he could never say no to her when she had her heart set on something and this was one of those things. Still, despite him giving in to her request, he wasn't quite there right now. The fourteen year old's body might be present but his mind was somewhere else. It was still in chaotic mode. Not that anyone would ever know what was going on in there. Kim was currently dressed in a white suit with blue trim and blue pants. It wasn't exactly how he was feeling at the moment but that was the color scheme of the ball this year. Much as it had been last year. He wondered idly if next year they should change the colors or keep them the same. Kim was at least a little more relaxed today than he'd been for the past few weeks. Because the teen had finally made a decision to contact his parents... To let them know he wouldn't be coming back home over the break for the first time since attending Hogwarts. He'd made up the excuse that the Herbology professor wanted him to stay and help her out with some matters over the break, as she saw potential in him. Even though it was a little white lie, it made sense, as Kim had always been into plants and herbs. He went into the greenhouse on a regular basis to take care of the plants, even in his free time. Thankfully, his parents had bought his excuse and allowed him to stay over the break this year. Although, they did happen to be miffed and disappointed. Because he wouldn't be attending the annual Sato Yule Ball that came like clockwork each year. It would be his first time missing it and Kim was looking forward to spending some time alone. He also wouldn't have to go to any of the other pureblood balls he'd been forced to attend each year either. What a great holiday miracle! The dark haired teen still didn't look that great but at least it was slightly better than he'd been a few weeks ago. Hell, he even intended on eating and drinking some stuff at the ball to celebrate. After all, it would look strange if he didn't do either at the BKB right now. Kim had put on some makeup for the BKB, which covered the dark circles around and under his eyes. It also masked the tiredness his face had taken on from lack of sleep. He still had his muscle beneath the layers of clothes he wore but if he kept doing this to himself, eventually he'd lose it. At 12:45 he entered the ballroom and his blue eyes, darker than before, flickered around the room for a few seconds. Bailey had outdone herself, even without his help this time. Part of him wanted to compliment her but he didn't have enough energy to do so. He let his eyes flicker over to the girl and studied Bailey. Closing the short distance between the two, Kim reached out towards Bailey's face without saying a single word to the girl before him. Eventually, his fingers made contact with their target, which was a stray strand of blond hair dangling into her face. He tucked the strand behind Bailey's ear and then his arm dropped away from her again. "You look nice." Kim told her and then nodded towards the entrance. The fourteen year old's way of saying 'let's go' for her to open the doors for their guests to come inside. As the doors opened, Kim stepped backward until he was behind and off to the side a bit. He didn't want people to think they could reach out and touch him. Kim actually wasn't much of a people person, despite what image he portrayed to others in the clubs he ran or co-ran. Leave the greeting and hosting to Bailey, she flourished in that aspect and he trusted her. Kim didn't respond to Bailey's words about 'getting through it together' because there wasn't much he could say to her. She didn't know. No one knew. He didn't want them to know. No one could help him, unless they could bring certain people back to him and return Puffie back from the dead. But that wasn't possible now. Not without dire consequences. The first entry into the ballroom happened to be a first year. The second was also a first year. But the third was someone familiar. @Keith Moore. He hadn't seen him around for quite some time. Therefore, it was a surprise to see him here. Kim's eyes tracked him for a few seconds and then returned to the entrance again. The doors had just opened, he'd have to stay with Bailey for another 10 minutes before they could move away from the entrance. Kim was usually in charge of setting up the drinks and snacks tables. March had been excited for this ball forever! She walked into the ballroom and saw only a few people around, she saw the host's (obviously) Bailey Glade, and Kim Aoki, she grinned and waved at them, then continued. Once March had decided to come to the ball, she had sended her mother an owl, she'd told her about the ball and her mother had sent one right back imidiatly. She'd described in detail what to where from the dress to the jewelery. She'd suggested she where a bright blue gown, March had felt like rebel, so she didn't. Then, she felt guilty, so she wore the shoe's she'd told her to where. She picked out her lucky dice earings, her mother had said nothing about it, so why not where it?
she was very glad her shoes didn't make an anoying clacking sound when she walked. She was going to be attending the ball with Willow Byrne, March wonderd wether she was in the ballroom, outside or maybe she didn't even come yet. March decided that she'd wait by the sides of the ballroom untill she saw her. She looked around the ballroom, It was decorated very nicely, there was even tiny snoflakes falling from the celling. March was really excited for the ball.

Aliana had just arrived at the baikim ball!
This was her second ball of this year she was very excited. She arrived at 12:55 as last time she was late she got chewed out by esme. Aliana is wearing This enchanting light blue dress gracefully cascades to ankle length, exuding an air of timeless elegance. Delicate lace intricately adorns the bodice and sleeves, adding a touch of ethereal charm. The soft hue of blue evokes a sense of serenity, while the flowing silhouette lends a touch of sophistication to the overall design. Esme racewalked into the ballroom, her hands together, she had a calm demeanor as she walked in casually. She had been tailing Aliana on her way here, and not wanting to seem like a hypocrite when she preached punctuality before, she sped up once Aliana got in. "See, that's how it's done, baby." She looks at Aliana with a cocky expression, as if this was a race and she won, despite coming in maybe a second later than Aliana. She then departs from Aliana to go to the glorious hosts of this ball. "Thank you, you're invitation is greatly appreciated, I got a gift for the two of you." She gave two small well wrapped boxes and moved back to Aliana, wearing a Hanfu that complimented what Aliana had on, the Hanfu faded from ocean blue in the center to pearly white at the edges. She also had nice white shoes, white and blue nails and hair that was done in a tight and neat bun, and on her face was white eyeliner. As she returned to Aliana she smiled, leaning on her partner's shoulder. "I'm glad we're able to have some time to be casual, and not have to watch the time. You know?"

Willow fidgeted with the tiny diamonds that dotted the bodice and waist of her deep blue dress, looking around to find someone she knew. So far, there were only a few people at the ball, and so she stood with her back to the wall, feeling uncomfortable. She wasn't sure of the whole guest list, so she didn't know if any of her other classmates would be attending, but she hoped so. Willow admired the tiny snowflakes that were falling from the ceiling, a truly beautiful piece of spellwork. Wait- there! She spotted March Calister, her friend date, and almost cried out with relief at not having to stand awkwardly alone anymore. She walked across the ballroom, trying her best not to trip over her blue heels- seriously, who decided that wearing heels to a dance was a good idea?
On her way over, she paused to thank the host and hostess, her voice slightly shaky as she spoke to the two older students. Then again, she was nervous speaking to nearly everyone. That was partially why she wanted to attend the ball- she was doing her best to expand her social life at Hogwarts and shake her shy nature. Willow directed her attention back to her friend and went to the side of the other redhead.
"Hi," She said softly to March, reaching up to push her red hair back, then realizing that it was pinned back in a bun, dropped her hands and smoothed her skirt. She glanced around the ball, checking again for anyone else she knew. Everyone looked very nice and formal, which made Willow feel better about her dazzling outfit. Perhaps she would be able to loosen up and talk to some of them before the ball was over, but for the moment, she was happy to stick with her friend, where she felt more at ease. Or, as at ease as one could feel at their very first ball at Hogwarts.

March inspected the few people around the room, she didn't see Willow, She felt some one come up beside her, She turned to see her friend Willow beside her, March grinned.
"Hi" Willow said quietly, "Oh, Hi Willow!" March said, still smilling. "Are you excited? I am really excited, well, it's my first ball at Hogwarts, and well, in my life!" She said happily, "I usually just go to parties and stuff, I really wasn't sure how to act to be honest, I thought weather I should dress formely or just regularly, I went for formily because, I mean, It's in a ballroom!" March said, "I thought white wouldn't look too good on me, so I went for dark blue, I guess blue isn't my colour either, is it? March said, gesturing to her outfit. March stopped, Was she talking to much? She continued to look out to the rest of the people, she saw some people give gift's to the host- Oh! She'd forgotton to give the gift's!
March was about to run over to them to deliver the present's but instead, stayed put. It was maybe rude to leave, especially after talking a lot. March looked down at the gift bags in her hands. She wasn't good at wrapping, or well, anything that recuired precision and patience. She'd resorted to putting her gift's in the gift bags instead. Her excitment rushed back after the thought left her mind, She was going to have the best time ever!
