which section was it again?
Prep seemed to be piling up on Kaito's desk, it would be stuffed within the drawers and stashed under pillows. Kaito had a lot of homework to do, some were even overdue. The first year had been pretending that he had lost his homework for the past two days. However, he realised that he would have to study to catch up with his work, or else he'd not get what was going on during lesson times! There was also his family to think about! Would they want a smart son, or a dumb one? Kaito was intelligent of course, however he did not know a thing about magic, which was why he was here - in the library, to do studies. He was wearing his robes (he hated them, he thought that they were very old fashioned and disliked the design) and he had a bag of parchment and a quill with ink. That was for note taking.
As he walked in, he was greeted by a sea of shelves, almost like a maze, each section was a different realm. Several students were already studying quietly there, as it seemed that there was a quiet rule. He glanced up at the librarian, before going over to an empty table. He never liked to sit with other people, they made him feel awkward. He took a small list out of his bag, smoothing the parchment before reading. First he was to revise herbology. He quirked a brow as he read about the topics. Those were quite strange, why did they even need to learn about plants? He scoffed before getting up. It soon dawned to him that he didn't know where the sections of books were, and the librarian certainly looked as if he was busy. Kaito rolled his eyes, biting his lip before he looked around. His eyes landed on a redhaired girl. he didn't recognise her. Was she in his house?
With a smirk, he walked over. "Hey there, do you know where the herbology section is in here? or anything related to herbology?" he asked, turning to the girl.

Linda decided to go to the library today. It was long time since she was here before and now she wanted to find something to read more about her pet plant that was with her since previous year. Li changed her clothes and went out of her room. There was no homework for her to do as it was all already done. So she was going to simply enjoy this day. It was some time since receiving sad news and now Linda finally was starting to feel happier again. Once she came to the library and was on her way through the shelves to the section that was interesting to her, she saw a guy approaching her and asking her a question. Hi. I am going now there, so you can join me. |
He looked like he was a firstie and for a second Linda thought she saw him in common room. So perhaps both of them were in the same house. When she reached the necessary section she stopped to look at the boy if he followed her. This is what you asked about. And with that Linda started to look for a book that she needed now. Luckily it didn't take much time, so after a while she found it. |

At first as she talked to him, she seemed unnerving, perhaps someone quiet who wanted to be alone, but would help people if needed. Now that he was closer, he could see that she had thick red hair that ran to back, curled slightly at the bottom with hazel eyes that made a unique combo with the hair. She seemed to be prepped for the Christmas spirit, wearing a cozy blue wool jumper with a white snowflake stuck to the centre. He seen her around school, mostly in the common room. However he didn't see her in any of his lessons. Maybe she was in a different year.
as he followed her through the library, he couldn't help but admire all the books which were stacked up in long neat rows on top of shelves. As they walked past, kaito trailed his hand across the covers, reading each title. They all had different names, some mythical, others, just silly. He stared at the light which beamed into the dim lit library, dust floating in the beam of light. He only just noticed they arrived when he saw her stop at a section. He dipped his head slightly, thanking her, before he looked up, reading all the titles, hoping to find something related to what he was going to study. He eyed a book that was titled as 'All you need to know about Mandrakes' . His eyes sparkled as he grabbed it, before walking over to a table, opening it as he scanned the book.

Linda knew she could be mistaken for someone quiet now by someone who didn't know her. In fact she just still was coming out of that long hard period dealing with best friend's death, so she could look like not sociable yet. Some more time and I will be happy again. She whispered to herself. After taking the book Linda was searching for, she came to the table and searched for what she needed. Was it rude to not attempt to talk to him more? Was she ready for new possible friendship from her house? Linda looked at the guy's direction and saw he was reading about Mandrakes. |
Mandrakes? Oh I had it previous year in lesson. I'm Linda Ramirez. Sorry I seemed to be rude, I was just in my thoughts. She smiled a little, but even this smile didn't touch her eyes. After this she looked back at the book in front of her and closed it. Linda already found everything she needed to know. She walked back to the shelves and put it back on its place, looking for another section with mysteries. Finishing searching for something new to read, she came back to the table. She wasn't ready to talk much as she used to, but she still was opened for conversation. |

which section was it again?
Kaito flipped through the pages, he felt bored to death. Why did they have to learn all this? it wasn't like it helped them, right? What were the chances he would encounter mandrakes when he grew up? He sighed as he scanned the long line of text, he turned to the girl who was picking out a book from the shelves. He glanced curiously at her, he wondered what her name was. However, he should avoid talking to her, he needed to focus. He sighed again in frustration as he flipped a page moodily, but not too rough. He suddenly felt someone standing over him, he looked up as he saw the girl who showed him there, she must have been speaking. He listened, surprised. It seemed that she had been watching what he was reading.
as she mentioned that she knew about them, studying them last year. He finally identified her as a second year. She then introduced herself as Linda. It seemed like a sweet name, quite fitting for her. He dipped his head slightly, nodding. "I'm Kaito Asano." As she apologised he felt a stab of guilt. "no worries, I completely understand." He tilted his head in understanding as he gazed up at her. He watched as she smiled. Kaito was good at seeing the difference between real and fake smiles. her smile screamed fake. He nodded, lowering his eyes. He didn't want to check up on her, it would seem strange. She then walked over to the books by the shelves and took out one, placing it on the table as she started flipping through.
Kaito wasn't usually a chatty person, but the silence was dragging on and on. It felt so awkward. He cleared his throat, glancing at her quickly. "What are you reading about?" He asked, lowering his eyes in embarrassment.

Linda glanced at Kaito acknowledging his replies. Usually she would be more talkative but even with these clumsy attempts Linda knew she was failing in sounding as usual.
She smiled at herself and kept flipping through the pages of the book in front of her. That's about mysteries. This and dragons are mostly books that I am reading if it's not about lessons. Though I wasn't coming here already for a long time.
Linda replied at the boy's question with glancing at him once. Do you like books? There was no meaning in asking what he was reading at the moment, but she decided to stay on this topic nevertheless.
After a while Linda finished looking through the pages and looked at Kaito. Maybe later she'd attempt to talk to him again or perhaps they would stay with this been the only interaction between the two. It was good to meet you. I'm going to take my guitar and go outside now. If you want, you can join me.
And, with this said Linda stood up, placed book back at its place and started to go out of the library. This was most likely the shortest interaction and perhaps the rude way of walking away. But right now she didn't feel up to staying neither in the library nor with her thoughts.
