I'm the type of person who likes the book version more than the movie versions for MOST things. But for LOTR I prefer the movies over the books. HP I like both the movies and the books but I do think the books were better. Twilight I prefer the books over the movies. Mortal Instruments I liked both equally I think. I can't remember any others that were books and movies.

What about you guys?

I just started reading the hp series I’ve seen the movies many times but never fully read the books!

Personally, I don't like the Harry Potter movies very much- the books are WAY better!
