Near Christmas Catastrophies
Quinn jumped when she heard the bell for class to be over. Quinn quickly packed up her books and headed out into the coridors. A large mass of witches and wizards were in the hallway making it a little more then a little difficult to your next class. Quinn let out a groan and tried to slip underneath two tall people to get to a less crowded hallway. Why I had such a bright idea of taking the main hallway today is a mystery Quinn thought. Quinn slid down a flight of stairs and made a hard right towards a back hallway. these hallways are life savers! Quinn thought as she raced down the hallway making sure not to drop any of her books. Quinn quickly ducked under a misletoe reath and sidestepped a suit of armor some students had decorated with a santa hat and beard. I can't wait until I get to go home for the holidays Quinn could barely supress excitment. She only had a few more classes until it was time for her to go full winter break mode.
Quinn stopped running near a classroom in full christmas mode and slowed to a walk. After her last class Quinn was going to go out and explore the wonders of Hogwarts during christmas with her friends then she would pack her bag to go home for christmas break. Quinn loved the christmasy time of year. It was so joyous and made Quinn even pay attention in the most boring classes. Like history of magic. Quinn thought. History of Magic was so dull in Quinns opinion that she sometimes took the time to take a short(ish) nap. Quinn skipped down the hall, lost in thought of what she would do with her family when she got home. While lost in thought Quinn blew straight into someone and fell backwards.
"ouch!" Quinn cried. Looking up Quinn saw a girl, roughly her age, standing over her.

Quinn stopped running near a classroom in full christmas mode and slowed to a walk. Near Christmas Catastrophies
Minnie was so excited. She was reading her new book, The Origins of Hogwarts. It told her what Helga was like! She was so immersed that she didn't realize she had taken a wrong turn and the staircase moved. Ah nuts. Minnie thought. I have no clue where I am.
Minnie looked around, trying to find something that could tell her where she was. At nearly Christmas, the students were buzzing with excitement....which meant things were extra packed. Time to ask for help. Minnie needed to find a teacher that could tell her where she was. She did not want to be late. She was about to ask a teacher she'd seen, when someone crashed into her. Her book went flying and whoever had crashed into her was on the floor. "Ouch!" The person said. The girl who had crashed into her looked about her age and she looked like she was definitely in the Christmas spirit.
"Are you okay? And can you tell me where I am?" Minnie asked rapidly. The girl had light brown hair with a few blond streaks. She had earrings and green blue eyes. Overall, she was very pretty. She looked a bit disgruntled though. "My name's Minnie, what's yours." She continued to ask quickly.

"My name's Minnie, what's yours?" the girl, now identified as Minnie, asked quickly. Quinn blinked twice and stared at her still trying to orient herself from the fall. Quinn looked at Minnie closely, she looked like a huffelpuff. Minnie's horn-rimmed glasses made her tealish eyes look bigger. Minnie had short, blond hair that accompened her pale lips and button nose. The girl had a necklance in the shape of a dragon hanging from her neck. Silvery long boots were on her feet and and one of her arms had a very weird looking watch and a braclet. She looks like a pureblood. Quinn thought. So she has been seeing magic her whole life. Quinn relized that the girl looked a little shy and was most definetly a first year.
Quinn struggled to her feet and started stacking her books neatly into there original stack. She relized that the girl, Minnie, had asked her a question.
"My names Quinn, uh Quinn Brook. Um sorry about walking into you" Quinn said to Minnie. Wait, shouldn't she be saying sorry? Quinn thought. Quinn finished stacking her books and put them carefully in her bag so not to mess them up. Then making up her mind Quinn stuck her hand out to shake Minnies.
"Nice to meet you Minnie."

"Nice to meet you Minnie." Quinn said. Minnie smiled and shook Quinn's hand.
Minnie shot a nervous glance at her watch, which showed that she was becoming really late. She needed Quinn to tell her where she was so that she could leave. This is not great. I should not be late because I'm a pure-blood and if she finds out I'm doomed. Minnie thought darkly. She quickly hid her watch and necklace, which showed that she was a pure-blood.
"You are so nice. And you don't have to be sorry, It's my fault for not looking. I was reading the origin of Hogwarts when I ran into you. The book was so interesting and it told me what Helga was like! Did you know she liked cupcakes with chocolate? And that-" She stopped herself, realizing she was babbling. I can't believe this. She must think I'm an idiot-or a nerd. Minnie blushed. "I'm really lost and late for class. Can you tell me where I am?"
Minnie took a deep breath. She picked up her book and smiled awkwardly at Quinn. Everything is going to be alright. I'll be on time and I'll make a new friend. I can do this.

"I'm really lost and late for class. Can you tell me where I am?" Minnie asked Quinn. Weird, she's hiding her necklace and watch, almost as if she doesn't want me to know she's pure blood. As if I care. Quinn thought. Then quinn relized Minnie had asked a question that Quinn really should answer.
"Were are you headed? I know how to get to most first year classes... asuming your a huffelpuff first year like I thought." Quinn hoisted her bag higher on her shoulder and studied Minnie. She seems like the kind of girl who would be a study hard, facts girl in Ravenclaw. Quinn thought. I dunno, Maybe we could get along and be friends one day. Quinn checked the time and gasped when she saw that she only had 5 minutes to get to class.
"You'd better hope you class is near" Quinn gulped then spun toward Minnie.
"I really need to get to transfiguration, can you tell me what class you have next?" Quinn quickly grapped the remaining items off the floor and shoved them into her bag. Quinn took her broken quill from the floor and sighed. Shoving it into her bag, Quinn stood up and nervously checked the clock again. She really couldn't have a catastrophie right before christmas.

"I need to get to Potions." Minnie cringed as she said those words. I'm pretty sure that I'm going to be late. She thought as she checked her watch. "Oh chocolate frogs. The bell rings in four minutes." Minnie looked at the emptying halls. "Do you know where a teacher is? Because I have no clue where I am." She asked. Minnie walked to the edge of the corridor. Just her luck that this was the one day the teachers had disappeared. Her Mum would kill her if she knew that she was going to be late. Her Mum's saying was: On time, nice looking, and smarts are the only things you need. Minnie was failing that phrase spectacularly. Her hair was a mess and she probably looked terrible. She was definitively late, and she didn't feel very smart by getting herself lost and in this stupid mess in the first place. How was she going to face them at home? Now back to the important topic at hand. Minnie roused herself and focused on finding a teacher. Then she looked at the time again. "Oh canary creams, this is bad." She only had two minutes left to get to her class. She was failing.

"oh canary creams, this is bad." Minie muttered. Quinn snickered. Canary creams? That's and interesting thing to say. Quinn wondered how long until class began.
"um, I know where potions is. From here you have to take a left down that hallway, go down the stairs, turn right, go straight, then go left and through the huge heavy oak doors." Quinn pointed down the hall.
"Oh, and if you get lost, ask a teacher. Well I'd better get to class, see you later." Quinn added the last part as a nice gester, maybe she would see Minnie later. Quinn nodded her head smiled then bolted towards transfiguration. Arrg, she'll find her way. Quinn thought. Quinn raced past teachers yelling at her to walk and a michevious student poring ink on a wall. Quinn ducked out of the way of two students kissing under the mistletoe. Quinn slid into the transfiguration hallway just as the bell rang.
"UUH!" Quinn yelled loudly. Quinn raced into trasnfiguration and quickly sat down as if nothing had happened. Her mind wandered through the lesson thinking about Minnie. I hope that she made it to class. I would feel really bad if she got detention because I gave terrible directions. Quinn lifted her head up. No use worrying, Qunn thought. Quinn Exits Thread

"Right. Thanks Quinn. Maybe we can meet up again at the grounds after class?" Minnie said to Quinn's retreating back. Now all she had to do was get to potions. "Okay, I am terrible at directions, but I can do this!" She looked for a hallway with stairs and found it. Time to run. She thought.
She raced down a lot of stairs that thankfully didn't move. Minnie skidded on some water and nearly fell. Slow down. Falling will make you late. Although it would get me out of trouble if I got hurt...Nope. She shook the thoughts off. She was not going to do that. She carefully walked until there was no more water, then started running again. She got called out by a teacher to stop running, but didn't stop. She nearly knocked over a girl and a boy reading together. "Sorry!" She yelled, and kept running. She didn't stop until she got into the dungeons, where she sprinted to her potions classroom. The professor was just closing the door as Minnie ran in, out of breath and panting. "I made it." She said, and went to her seat. I wonder if Quinn made it? I hope she heard me calling out to meet me on the grounds. Oh well, It'll be fine either way.
