Normally Lucie would be smile and skipping through the halls, but today they’re very stressed and walking around the grounds. They’ve found themself in a pickle, they’re going to a certain Winter Ball that is being held at Hogwarts but they don’t have anyone to go with. At first, they thought about going alone but they’ve figured out who they want to go with. But the problem is, they’ve never spoken to her before.
They’ve seen her around in almost all of their classes and they have developed a fascination with her, she seems to be very impulsive and extroverted but Lucie also notices that she keeps to herself most of the time. They share some traits with the girl like impulsiveness and bravery, but they are extroverted and pretty much a ball of sunshine.
They are snapped out of their musings as the bump into someone, they apologize to the person hurriedly before looking up to see, the person they were just thinking about. The person of interest herself, Lyrra Kelly.
Lucie stammers a bit before standing up straight, this is their moment to ask her. This is harder than Lucie expected, they expected to be able to just ask her and be rejected then go on their merry way, but it’s so much harder to get the words to come out of their mouth.
They attempt to choke out the words before a loud voice rings out, ”Will you go to the Winter Ball with me?!” Lucie’s blood runs cold as they realize that it was their voice that shouted those words. Well it’s too late to stop now.
“Wait! Before you say anything, allow me to introduce myself and tell you somethings about me. I’m Lucielia Night-Cortez but please call me Lucie. I like Herbology and Reading and I’ve been meaning to ask you to go with me but I’ve chickened out every chance I got. So, will you go with me Lyrra Kelly?” Lucie says this tentatively as if they’re walking on eggshells and smile nervously at her.

"Ow!" The girl's thoughts were harshly interrupted when they crashed into each other, causing her to briefly lose her balance and almost fall to the ground. When she looked up, she was met with someone her own age, a fellow student with a very pale face, long wavy split-dyed hair and two different eye colours. Lyrra recognized them as Lucielia, a fellow first year student, who was sorted into slytherin, and who she had seen around quite a few times but never really interacted with. To Lyrra, they had always stood out a bit, mainly due to their memorable appearance and style. Their appearance was very out of the ordinary, but not in a bad way. They seemed friendly too, from what she'd observed, and also pretty courageous.
After the crash, Lucielia had immediately apologized, before stammering a bit and standing up straight. Lyrra laughed and picked up the book she had dropped, before apologizing herself, saying she should have been more aware of her surroundings. She intended to just laugh it off and then part ways, but Lucielia didn't seem to have any intention of walking off, as if there was something they wanted to say. Lyrra noticed a nervous look in their eyes, but before she could say anything they started to speak.
"Will you go to the Winter Ball with me?!" Their words had suddenly sounded very loud and startled Lyrra quite a bit.
"What?" She replied in a confused tone, "Me?" She thought she must have misheard them, as the two barely knew each other.
Lucielia then started nervously introducing themself. They asked her to please call them Lucie and told her that they liked Herbology and Reading. While they talked they seemed extremely nervous and Lyrra almost felt sorry for them, even though she had now started feeling a bit nervous herself.
"...and I've been meaning to ask you to go with me but I've chickened out every chance I got. So, will you go with me, Lyrra Kelly?"
For a moment Lyrra did not know at all what to say, so there followed a few minutes of silence, before she finally found the right words to form a half-decent reply. "Alright, I will go with you." Her words had sounded very matter-of-factly and maybe even indifferent. Although she didn't realise this, she did realise she should probably say a little more if she didn't want to appear rude.
"I'm Lyrra, which you obviously already knew. Just like you, I also enjoy reading, and Herbology too, but I'd have to say my favourite subject is Astronomy. So, when exactly is this ball?"
