A smile grew on her face in response to Draven's. "Oh yeah? What's some of your favorite works of Poe?" For a moment, she was glad of something the two could have in common. An interest in poetry perhaps. She continued "I love the tell-tale heart. How the man himself drove to madness and basically told on himself!" She laughed a bit, allowing herself to remember how funny her class had found the messed up story.

She raised her eyebrows at Draven. "Of course they're not." She offered, turning back to the books slowly. "Just to me." She pressed her lips together. "And my opinion hardly has to do with the book itself, right? Just one in a billion." She found it amusing, honestly, how others could take the opinion of one to heart. There were 8 billion opinions, one wasn't the end of the world. As much as she loved the phrase 'never judge a book by its color' She loved to judge books by the cover. Because a good book deserved a wondrous cover, not a big title on a blank color.

"He named you after Ravens?" Her tone indicated that this was not meant to be an offensive question. She just found it curious and a bit cool. Also kind of poetic? "That's nice." She gave a genuine smile. "I'm pretty sure my mom tried a Boston donut and then was like... wait that sounds pretty." She shook her head with a laugh. Bless her mom. She explained a bit. "My mom's first language is Spanish, and she wasn't very good at English when she named me, so." A shrug. Her name didn't bother her, she was actually fond of it.

She nodded at Draven. She tried to picture his hair buzzed, hoping it would suit him. She grinned yet again. "Great! So... I have a lot of yarn but I can do like a dark green. Or black. I could do just black." She inspected the boy in front of her again and she shook her head in a bossy manner. "Nevermind on the black. You need some color in your life." She raised an eyebrow at the boy and clicked her tongue. She shrugged. I find help in helping others. "It's just what I do." She said softly. Maybe one day, if she ever needed it, the world would return her kindness. She smiled again. "Besides, you look miserable. And as mean as that sounds, I... could care less because I'm not leaving you like that!"

"The Raven," Draven said with a crooked smile. "I'm not original, but I think the imagery is beautiful. You can practically see the raven sitting on the statue and driving the old man mad."

Spanish- Draven blinked, his eyes flashing towards the girl for the briefest of moments. He spoke Spanish. Against his will, and with the elegance of an elephant in a fine china shop. But he spoke it.

"Do I need some color," he asked, a bit sardonically. "I'd argue my shirt is already a rather horrible shade of blue-" Draven unzipped his hoodie just long enough for the girl to peep the bright cyan 'football' shirt he was wearing underneath. It was cotton and about a size bigger than he technically needed. But it was comfortable, and it had been free.

"I'm not miserable," he said after a beat. "I actually haven't been this good in months." He raked his fingers through his hair, a bit awkwardly. "You should have seen me back in September. Merlin, that was bad. No, I'm-" he grinned, the shadow of a younger boy shining beneath his skin for a moment. "I'm. Good. Boston. I'm so good." He'd made his bed that morning, much to his own surprise. Combed his hair too, and put on deodorant. "But I'll take the free clothes if you're offering. I don't have much to give you in return- I mean. You're a first year, no?"
