Imani sat next to the toilet, arms crossed over her knees. She stared at the stall door, trying to concentrate. It was hard to do so, the nausea came in waves, it would recede for a while but then rush back like a raging sea. Imani tried to swallow the bike but she barely had enough time to put her face in the toilet and hurl. It made such a wet and nasty sound that she couldn't help but throw up again, staring down at the mixture of what she'd eaten, breathing in heavily. This is so, so disgusting, she thought, noticing that a piece had gotten into her hair. She quickly combed it out, hearing it splash in the water. Flushing the toilet, she tried to stand but her stomach heaved and she vomited again.

"Oh, I can't take this," she cried, holding her stomach as she went to sit down again. Relaxing only eased the ache a bit, but it was better than walking around leaving a trail of throw up all the way to the infirmary. She had no idea where this sickness cane from, maybe some other student had been sick and she somehow caught it from them, or maybe it was some food she had ate. She was allergic to pumpkins, and that assorted pie last night had looked pretty suspicious. All she knew was that she was growing very tired of hurling into a stinky toilet and she needed to leave the bathrooms.

Grabbing her wand that had been on the floor, Imani slowly made her way out of the stall, shuffling towards the sink. There she gripped the edge, staring at her reflection in the mirror. She looked sickly and weak, like she had just seen a dementor or something. Her face contorted into a frown and she glared at herself, hissing, "What are you looking at? Get yourself together, you can't let a dumb stomache stop you—" She doubled over in pain, vomiting into the sink. When she was finished she wiped her mouth, sighing in anger.

It wasn't unusual to catch Alexx patrolling in her free time, just to be sure that the school remained in order. However, she did not often venture far enough to see the girls' lavatory, as it wasn't a regular spot for activity (at least from her experience, though she has heard of incidents, just never witnessed them herself). But this particular situation seemed to be less of an incident and more of just a happening. The sounds of sickness haunted her ears, and she made a sharp turn, planning to find whoever fell victim to an illness and see to it that they made their way to the hospital wing. It was the right thing to do, and she wasn't worried if she were late to wherever she would otherwise be, as the well being of others was a good cause.

Peaking in, she looked briefly around, in a vast attempt to spot the girl. She assumed the two had time on their hands, considering this was a matter of importance. "Excusez-moi?" The young girl called out, tapping the door on her way in as if she were entering one's room. "Do you need any help?" She was blindly calling out to whoever was in here, as she had yet to spot the other. When she finally did spot the body, plagued with a sickness of sorts, she moved closer to the sinks, reaching out, but not yet touching her. It was a sad sight to see, watching the deteriorated state in front of her. She made a mental note to be sure to take some medicine, lest she herself get sick.

Inching closer, she spoke up again. "Ehm- I should probably escort you to the hospital wing. You... don't look well." It wasn't meant as a negative comment, but it was no secret that she was ill, just by looking at her. And this perhaps meant that a bug of sorts was going around, which would mean there were more cases to come. The thought made her cringe, as she wasn't in the mood to be dealing with sickness filling the air right now. It was better to clean this up quickly, and help the girl if she could. Knowing nothing about her, she didn't know where she could have even contracted the virus. Perhaps she only took pity on the girl because she was younger, which was likely the case. Alexx, with her army of first year students, playing the older figure role at all hours. Her kind heart could be deemed annoying, but some, like Min-seo, for example, needed someone like Alexx to confide in. So she never stopped. Especially not now, as this was now her job to take care of. She couldn't turn a blind eye to the situation at hand.

It wasn't a pleasant smell, the lavatory. It never smelled nice, but now it smelled prominently of bile, and she hoped that it could be whisked away soon so that another student was not made to endure it. "Or... or perhaps I could grab a professor? Transfiguration is only on the next floor. Professor Lian could help. I think." For a prefect, Alexx was rather unsure of what she was to do in a situation like this, but it felt like she should have the knowledge. Really, she was just saying whatever was comforting. There was also always Charms just downstairs, as was the hospital wing itself. But the girl, admittedly, did not seem in a safe position to be leaving the safety net that was the lavatory, regrettably. Alexx couldn't conjure how to get her there without the help of a professor or a nurse. Let alone, if she would be willing to leave right now.

Imani froze at the sound of the door opening. Her face heated, thinking about the humiliation if some snobby girls found her puking her insides out all alone. They'd probably think she was disease-ridden, or something even more ludicrous. She sighed, staring at the drain at the bottom of the sink, which was now barely visible because of the bile. She turned on the faucet, trying to wash it away. The girl who had opened the door called out in some weird accent, probably French because of how the sounds were clipped. She ignored her at first, trying to inch out of view, but then she entered the lavatory and proceeded to move as if to touch her, only to pause right before. Imani's eyebrows furrowed in anger, but the feeling to throw up stopped her from saying anything.

She covered her mouth and ran back to the stall, slamming the door closed and hurling. Sobbing angrily, Imani growled, "Just mind your business, before I throw up on you, girl." Of course she didn't look well, was she supposed to look like a cover model while barfing? The embarrassment caused Imani to feel so irritated, also the fact that her throat was beginning to hurt from all the retching, but she had to let it all out.

But then the girl mentioned something about getting a professor. Slamming the stall door back open, Imani rushed out, holding her stomach. "Don't you dare get a professor! I didn't ask for your help. I'm surprised you're still even standing. I know it stinks real bad in here, although I'm use to it." She gagged for a moment but felt the sensation pass.

She glared up at the girl, watching her face. "I know what you're thinking, it's all over your face; I'm not caring the plague, it's called gastroparesis." She sighed deeply, staring at the wall. "I get it sometimes, but that shouldn't matter to you."

The French girl was understandably taken aback by the other girls' words. Who was she calling girl? Had she no clue that Alexx was older than her? The level of disrespect made the girl with a fiery temper shake with frustration. Still, she bit back her thoughts and feelings and tried to reason with her. This was a humiliating situation, so she was probably just caught up in the heat of the moment. "Listen, I'm just doing my job, okay?" Alexx really had no clue what else to say. How was she to explain to this girl that her job was to maintain order, more or less? Really, she should be grateful that she was looking after her.

Watching as the girl moved swiftly into the stall, cringing slightly at the sounds. She had a point; the smell was awful, and Alexx might not be able to stand it for much longer. But she knew that it was only right of her to make sure that this girl got taken care of. "D'accord, I got it. No professors." She muttered, rolling her eyes a little and looking off to the side. "Does this go away on its own or...?" It wasn't her business, but she needed to be sure that this was taken care of regardless. But she only suspected that the girl would snap off on her again, and she couldn't blame her if that were the case. Alexx was pushing her luck on this one, and she knew that very well.

Shaking her head, she sighed deeply. "I don't think you have the plague." It was a lie. Her childish thoughts entertained things of the Renaissance almost, and sicknesses that carried a stench and left its trail all around the world. But it was relieving to find out that she wasn't carrying some sort of a disease. "I was merely worried. As I should be." Her jaw clenched, and she stared the girl down, but what was a glare soon softened. She couldn't find it in her to truly be mad at the girl, as she really couldn't help that she was sick. The worst part was that Alexx knew nothing of this illness, and most of all, if anyone would be able to help. It was childish to think of that, but perhaps she just knew that there was nothing to do but let it pass.

Imani rolled her eyes. "If doing your job concerns pestering me about things that have nothing to do with you, then you obviously you aren't doing your job right. What are you a prefect or something?" She heard about how Slytherins and Gryffindors don't usually mix and this was obviously one of those times. Deep down, though, she felt a little bad for how she was acting but she didn't really care. "It does go away," she explained softly. "After I barf it all out. Then I'm left hungrier than a starving tiger, like I hadn't eaten before in my life."

Her stomach was feeling strangely much better now so she didn't have to worry about throwing up amymore, she was use to the feeling. She had this condition since she was little, before she got adopted, and she knew how to handle it, some people just didn't know how to react, not that it was her fault. Imani felt like she should correct them, because if it had to do with her she wasn't just going to let herself feel uncomfortable.

"Since you like to know everything, my name is Imani Percival. Tell me yours." She was only slightly interested, and her irritation had abated. What she really wanted to do was be left alone, but she knew that was going to happen, it was strange enough that she had been alone before in the lavatories, girl's loved to gossip in there. She went over to a bag that was hidden underneath a sink and got out a pack of gum, popping one into her mouth. Imani chewed slowly, savoring the taste. She wondered if she had perfume in there, maybe to get rid of the smell.

"Also," she added, while chewing. "I think you're a liar." She turned towards the girl and folded her arms.

Understandably, Alexx was taken aback by her words. Never had she been told that she wasn't doing her job correctly. And how was this girl supposed to know? In fact, this was hardly even Prefect business, as anyone should be concerned over the sound of vomiting. Alexx would consider it human nature to want to be sure that the person in question was okay. And that was really all she was here for; it was less of keeping a good reputation and name and more of being concerned. It just wasn't clicking in her mind how that wasn't getting through to the girl, who she now knew to be named Imani. And how demanding it was of her when she asked for Alexx's name! Never did Alexx consider herself as one who insisted upon knowing everything, and she certainly wasn't going to ask for the girl's name if she proved to be alright, which she had.

"Alexx Helm, Prefect of Slytherin." She announced her official title, killing two birds with one stone. "And my job as a human being is to make sure that you're okay, you really cannot be blaming me for being concerned. It is much less a matter of knowing everything and more a matter of making sure someone isn't dying in here. But you've answered all my questions." Her voice was dry now, lacking the same sympathy as it had moments ago. If this girl was not going to respect her, then Alexx was not going to go out of her way to be kind. Though she wouldn't let any rude comments slip, as the French girl knew better, it didn't prevent her from biting the inside of her cheek in frustration.

Sighing, Alexx ran a hand through her hair. "Well, think what you want, then." She replied, raising her eyebrows in defeat. "I can't stop you." She looked at Imani, who had her arms folded, and she almost wanted to scoff. How bold this girl was. Alexx did practically nothing to deserve this kind of treatment! But she wasn't about to argue with her. Instead, she would likely rant this out to one of her friends later. A Hufflepuff, who contained more patience than she. In fact, that made her decision about what she was likely to do right after this: compose an owl to a friend and request to meet up so that she could relieve all this stress. How crazy it was that a few minutes could put so much pressure on someone.

Alexx wanted badly to call her out on making accusations when she knew next to nothing about the Slytherin girl, but she just couldn't bring herself to stoop that low. It wasn't worth the fight. Not today. Not tomorrow. No matter how badly this entire situation peeved her. She had to maintain herself, and she certainly didn't want Imani to feel unwelcome, as that was in bad taste. There were too many contradictions between her moral compass and her actual thoughts, and a large part of her wished she could just say what she meant. But she remained neutral. Imani would have to push the girl to greater lengths if she wanted her to bite back at all.

Imani was tired of rolling her eyes, but this girl deserved it. She should've never bothered her at all, Prefect, human or not, but she probably by now knew better. Hopefully she'd never talk to Imani again, because she clearly didn't like her at all. "If all of your questions are answered then that's your signal to leave, girl." She figured that if this girl was a Prefect, she was probably older than Imani by at least a year, but it was clearer than daylight that Imani gave no care at all. It could be Queen of England herself and Imani would only treat her with the same respect she gave Imani.

"You know what, every single Slytherin I've met so far is just as annoying as you, maybe it's the current trend, or has it always been that way? Hm," she said, looking Alexx up and down. "It seems to run in the House-hold." She smirked at her own joke, staring at the girl. She wished this girl would just turn around and leave already, she was entirely bothersome. She couldn't understand how she could stand the bathroom smell, it was already starting to make Imani gag, but maybe it was because Alexx smelled just like it. "And you're very correct, no one can stop me, not even pea-brained Prefect like you. You should just quit your job and give it up for someone way more worthy."

Imani picked up her things, and coughed into her fist as she passed the girl, pushing past her shoulder. She snickered and open the door, pausing to add, "You'd do us all a fair." With that last remark she left, giving Alexx a fake sweet smile. As soon as the door closed behind her, she rolled her eyes and strode away.

Never in her life had Alexx ever been so insulted. Her tongue tied up in her mouth, and her jaw stayed clamped shut. She bit her cheek hard enough to draw blood, and once Imani was out of sight, a few stray tears had made it past her eyes, but she wouldn't admit that to many people, probably no one outside of a select one or two. She pushed it away with her sleeve, sniffling hard, and looked at herself in the mirror. Her cheeks and ears were burning red, and she looked dejected. All she had meant to do was help out. There was no call for all this... But one thing was for sure. Alexx did not like Imani. She tried so desperately to give the girl the benefit of the doubt, but this was uncalled for. And it made her question... should she step down?

Taking in a deep breath, then sighing promptly after, she shook her head. Alexx was really letting a first-year upset her like this. But she supposed anyone would be because Imani's words were harsh. Still, Alexx forced herself to be the bigger person and keep all negative thoughts within, despite how badly she wanted to scream and call Imani a straight up brat. She definitely wouldn't do that. Imani may be low and petty, but Alexx didn't need to stoop that far. It was a reach, but she thought maybe Imani had a pride issue. Alexx knew that not all Slytherin students were bad. She had met some quite lovely ones! Like Isabella, for example, and she quite liked that French fellow she met, who she believed was named Bellamy. Imani was just too quick to judge, she told herself. In fact, Alexx thought every house had wonderful people in them! Why was Imani so cruel towards one house specifically? It was like saying that because Aurelia belonged to Gryffindor that all Gryffindor's were bad, but that simply wasn't true, as proven by all her Gryffindor friends. It just didn't make sense in her mind how one person could be so cruel towards an entire house...

Sulking about for a few more moments, she didn't dare leave too soon, lest Imani was still lurking the halls. This was a terrible way to start out with someone. She wasn't even sure what she had done wrong. All this was just so senseless. But Alexx had plenty of friends, and Imani didn't need to be one of them, she supposed. Oh, how she felt badly for any Slytherin who may encounter such prejudice. Their bad name was completely uncalled for. Pushing a few more stray tears back with her sleeve, she got ready to exit, off to find someone to share this strange encounter with. Someone who could validate her, maybe. She needed to hear that she wasn't useless, or dumb, or unworthy, or whatever the hell Imani thought of her.
