Godmod Permission Given By Alan Vanes
Elena was still sleepy, but a bit better after a single good night's rest, she'd run straight to the dorms so that she would be in bed when Griffith had told her. Pillows were put up and around to keep it safe. She hung her favourite pictures on the sides of the bed, the one of her and Bella, the one of her and Min-seo, and the most important photograph, Alan at Christmas. An owl from Griffith saying merry Christmas completed her little box, and lo and behold it worked. Meaning the relaxed smile she was giving Alan was absolutely real today.

Alan skipped off to go and send an owl, so Elena just waved as he disappeared around one of the corners. Smiling happily at seeing her friend, Elena thought maybe food would be good. She'd been told to get what was the phrase? Three square meals a day, and lunch was important, still the great hall seemed daunting. Elena looked in the direction Alan had run off to, he really was the best friend she could ever ask for. Her pockets were full of the chocolate frogs he brought every time they saw each other.

"If I was dying on my knees, you would be the one to rescue me..." Elena sang under her breath.

Imani gripped her books tightly, a deep frown on her face. She walked briskly down the corridor, listening intently on the echoes that bounced off the walls. Was that a familiar annoying voice she heard? Most people would probably avoid anything that bothered them, but Imani wasn't 'most people', that meaning she had a habit for looking for trouble, and she wasn't one bit sorry about it.

Rounding the corner, Imani nearly ran into a shipping baffoon, who was also munching on thosw disgusting chocolate frogs that Imani could never understand why people ate. Chocolate was great, but muggle chocolate usually tasted better. She didn't trust these wizards who could out hexes and jinxes in everything she touched or tasted. Sticking her nose into the air, Imani tossed her curly hair over her shoulder and said, "Um, you need to watch where you're going, you almost killed me." She looked the girl up and down in disgust. "And who are you? You're obviously no one important if you're talking to people like Alan Canes, I bet you're just as weird as him."

She was starting to really not like Slytherins, and it she was glad. Gryffindors were better than the slimey green serpents anyway. Who would want to be one of them? The only people who got into Slytherin were all foul and evil, just like people said. Imani probably couldn't trust one word of what the girl would say, which is why she glared at her suspiciously.

Small blissful moments were hard to find, and Elena's was interrupted by some Gryffindor girl who showed up out of nowhere then got angry at Alan for almost crashing into her. Elena quirked an eyebrow at the girl and gave her an almost perfectly emotionless look.

That would've been fine alone but then something the Slytherin thought was worse happened. Alan Vanes was insulted, her Alan. The ray of sunshine, giver of chocolate frogs, and best friend Alan. Elena's hand visibly twitched and beneath the cold look in her eyes you could see swirling anger.

"Jones." She said coldly, "I'm pretty sure I just misheard you Kid because if I didn't then you are either sorely mistaken or about to have an extremely rude awakening."

"Weird is a bit relative, for example I think it's weird that you decided to insult people without cause and also to have your nose in the air like that. Do you smell something strange? Is it your ego? Do you have a nosebleed caused by your body physically trying to shut down over how rude you are? These are just mysteries of the universe I suppose." Elena rolled her eyes, "Also, next time you try to insult people, do it with a smirk. Sneering just makes you look as desperate as you must be to go after an easy target. Although I'm happy to inform you that you picked the wrong friend and the wrong time Dearie."

Imani crossed her arms and pretended to listen intently, but couldn't help but yawn as the girl spoke. All she heard was constant nonsense and she feigned falling asleep before waking herself up. "Oh, I'm sorry, I just couldn't help but doze off, whatever you're saying is too irrelevant for my brain to comprehend. Anyways, what makes you think you know so much about you me? Is your boyfriend Alan talking about me? Oh, I know he can't help it, I'm that spectacular...which confuses me on why he's even your friend. You're such a bore." She rolled her eyes and walked around the girl, but then turned around, a curious expression on her face.

"I thought Slytherins were supposed to be cunning, but obviously not, looking at you." She laughed, shaking her head. "Calling out people's mistakes is my favorite pass time, but I'll go lightly on you, you deserve, you poor thing." As she spoke her points, she counted off of her hand. "So, let's see: one, I've never met you, but I have met Alan, on my sorry ride on the Hogwarts Express. You say that I have no cause in insulting anyone, but I know that irritating boy, who I have the right to be irritated with, is bothersome, and anyone who affiliates themselves with him are 'nobodies'. So that's my cause."

Imani was a little angry that this random girl threw a bunch of unearned insults her way after she had said something so small and simple, but maybe this girl had mental issues she wasn't telling anyone. Well that wasn't her problem, this Jones girl should be grateful that Imani was wasting her time speaking with her. "And two, isn't it kind of mean, or shall I say patronizing, to call your own friend an easy target? I would be hurt if a friend of mine called me that—and oh, before you try to say something slick like 'you probably don't even have friends', I actually do, I'm just glad one of them isn't you."

She grinned. This was just so fun, when people got angry they tended to say things things that could be easily twisted around, and Imani was enjoying every bit of it. She herself would have gone mental if she were in this girl's position, but she wasn't, and if this girl was just going to shame her, she was going to do just so back. "You're just a pitiful disgrace in my opinion. I can't even begin to understand why someone like you is in Hogwarts, but if people like Alan are here too...hmph!"

"I know next to nothing about you, and also boyfriend? Really? What are you, five?" Elena pinched the bridge of her nose in exasperation, "A bore? Well now don't try to make an original insult, that would be too much work for your poor brain."

"Hold on, let me take a quick look at what you're passing off as logic here." Elena took a breath in an attempt to keep herself from getting kicked out of ROAM by way of murder, "Your reasons for insulting someone you don't know, starts with that you don't know them but you know their friend? You're insulting me, because you don't like Alan. When we are clearly two completely different people. Wow, what has bullying become? Truly it used to be an art form.

"Calling Alan an easy target isn't an insult, I think it's a compliment to his character, seeing as if he was here he'd assume you weren't hugged enough as a child and it's his job to rectify that." Elena's lips quirked into a smirk, "I have, of course, assumed the exact same thing. Although I'm in no mood to go around fixing people, especially not someone who decides to double down on being a... I'm actually unsure if I'm allowed to call you that. We'll just let your imagination fill in the blanks. I'll give you a hint, it starts with C."

"Oh in your opinion Kid! The opinion that is obviously founded off of iron logic, I'm quaking in my boots, you must be some kind of undercover ministry worker! Here to see if students should stay at this school." Elena snorted, "Yeah, whatever, now can you move? I need to get to lunch, and I'd prefer it to be quick."

Imani gave her an exasperated look, but she was actually getting mad inside. The girl was telling the truth, she was being pretty irrational, but she was already in a bad mood, not this girl knew that. She was still wondering why she was so incredibly defensive of some boy she probably only knew less than a year. Imani only defended her family like that, and she never confused friends with family. This girl obviously had no standards on how friendship worked, treating this boy like he was a jitten she had to take care of. Whatever, Imani didn't feel like being angry, so she'd let her slide...

"I feel bad for that potty mouth, I hope your parents didn't teach you to act like that. Oh, wait, they probably did, you look like you're something that plops into the toilet—let's see if you can think of it with that pea brain of yours, it starts with an 's'. " And she didn't want to be around this disgrace anyway, so she was going to leave for her own sake, not this nasty girl's. She rolled her eyes and giggled in high pitch. "Anyways, back to what's relevant, which is a group you aren't a part of, next time you speak to me, which I hope is never again, you should realize that one hundred percent of your monologue is pure garbage, and it fits your appearance completely, sweetie." Imani scoffed, Elena was such a joke to her that she really wasn't even worth talking to.

"I know I'm smart, everything I say is logical but clearly your mind is too slow-paced for you to realize that. Sad life." She said goodbye ib a faux friendly voice, twiddling her fingers but then gave her a dark look. This girl better not talk to ever again. As she walked pass she hissed, "You think you're a saint, calling me out but you're just insulting me back, so you're not any better, you're basically the same...but no one can be as great as me, you only wish. But let me do myself a favor and get you out of my vicinity, you don't deserve my precense." And with that she walked away. She had the urge to push the girl but she didn't feel like being snitched on by such a lowly idiot.

Elena sighed in relief, she was finally leaving. Thank god, being trapped in a battle of insults was tiring to say the least.

"Parents probably would've been nice." Elena said to Imani's retreating back, "Goodbye relevant. I'll not be seeing you."

With that Elena stalked off in the opposite direction, she put her hood up to block out the surroundings. Look straight ahead, not back it's better that way.

Every part of her was screaming to turn back around, to tell the other girl that she didn't want to be a saint, she wasn't trying to call her out. That Elena was just being mean to scare her off, to yell at her to stay away from her, to stay away from Alan. To make sure she never came near anyone she cared about again.

Elena didn't want to get into a fight, she wanted the girl to leave her alone, and if acting like a rude nuisance helped with that, than that's what she'd do. That was Elena shielding herself. Although there was nothing assuring her the girl would leave them alone, nothing to make sure she didn't just run after Alan to hurt him in a way he wouldn't be able to handle.
