I (Brenda Taylor) sprinted to the girls bathroom, hoping my hair looked the same. After running into several students, almost falling, and smacking my face on the wall, I stumbled to the mirror and saw that my hair was neon pink!

When I was on my way to Transfiguration class, some random seventh year came up to me, mumbled something, and all of a sudden, everybody in the corridor was laughing and pointing at me. Now I had to either figure out a way to get this horrible hair back to blonde or go across the school to the Hospital Wing. I was already missing class so I decided it would be best to go to the Hospital Wing. That was, until I heard the door open.

I gasped and dashed into one of the ten vacant stalls as fast as my wobbly legs would let me. I heard the girls gossiping and then a couple of them entered the stalls next to me. Oh-no! Just as I squeezed tighter against the wall, one of them tried to open the door to the stall I was in. She shook the door so hard I thought it would fall off of the weak hinges. Apparently, the locks aren't very strong and the girl succeeded.

I don't remember much of what happened after that but I to remember that the girl's jaw dropped to the floor when she saw a little first year with pink hair. I pushed her over and barreled toward the exit, hoping that I remembered where in the giant Hogwarts castle the Hospital Wing was.

My friends and I were talking in the lavatory about the latest happenings of Hogwarts. We all dispersed to the various stalls but I noticed one of the stalls’ door was closed. I assumed the locks were broken as, believe it or not, is quite a common occurrence here.

I tried shaking the door, hoping that somehow the locks would come loose. After shaking it for several more seconds, the door flung open. Success! I was satisfied for a couple of moments until I caught sight of the girl inside.

My eyes could not focus on the girl’s face to see if I recognised her. Mainly because of the shock of pink hair perched on her head. The only other thing I deduced about her was that she was a first year - like me. Part of me felt sorry for the girl, as it seems like the pink hair was a prank played by another student.

I stood there with my jaw subconsciously open for a while before the girl knocked me onto the floor as she hasted to the exit. My moral judgement took over and I ran after her, calling out to her to stop.

“Hey! Wait up!”

I kept my head low, ashamed of my mistake. I'd had been going to lunch, hungry after a day of reading in the courtyard. I had barely been at Hogwarts for two days and was still suffering from my lack of magical knowledge. I had seen a red haired girl with freckled skin using her wand and mumbling at a stone in the wall that I knew on the other side would have the Ravenclaw dormitories. The girl was in red trimmed robes, marking her as Griffindoor. Curious and slightly suspicious at the girl's actions, I smiled at her. The girl shot me an irritated work with her vibrant green eyes and went back to the wall. I opened my mouth for a second, then examined the girl. She was clearly older than me, maybe a seventh year. She looked mischievous, like she'd just pulled a prank. And so maybe she was trying to pull a second.

I knew I had to stop her, so I asked her what she was doing. The girl gave me an angry look and whispered something before running. I shrugged and started to head to class. Strangely, kids laughed and pointed at me as she passed. I frowned and wondered what I did wrong. Probably a wizard- I mean, witch thing I didn't know about. But I heard a kid shout, "Her hair!" and ran to the bathroom.

My hand was on the handle when the door burst open for me, and I yelped as a girl with bright pink hair ran past me, tearing down the hall in record speed. Another girl- this one with glasses and brown hair- had a look of confusion, desperation, and shock on her face- emerged, but I was already pressed to the wall and she didn't seem to see me as she yelled something.

"Hey! Wait up!"

At first I was confused, but I realized soon she was talking to the pink-haired girl. I wondered what happened and wanted to help- or know if my hair was discolored- so I jumped out. The girl seemed surprised. I looked at her- she was a Ravenclaw, by the looks of it. Like me. Maybe my room mate, possibly? I hadn't met my room mates. I realized I was off track. I said quickly to the girl,
"Hello, there! Not to be rude but I'm pretty sure something happened to her and it happened to me too. So let's find her and get to the bottom of this, if that's okay with you. I'm Celeste. Sorry I'm bombarding you but this is time-sensitive!"

I was running after the pink-haired girl when suddenly, another girl popped up infront of me. I was surprised for a second, but when I came back to my senses, I started to recognise her. She was in Ravenclaw with me as well, just that her hair was, well… Different!😅

The Ravengirl opened her mouth and started speaking a hundred words a second, "Hello, there! Not to be rude but I'm pretty sure something happened to her and it happened to me too. So let's find her and get to the bottom of this, if that's okay with you. I'm Celeste. Sorry I'm bombarding you but this is time-sensitive!"

I took several long-lasting seconds to process this. Dang right are you bombarding me, I laughed in my head. I nodded as I recalled the words she just said. “Oh yeah I can see that you’re both suffering similar… Consequences?” I winced, trying not to offend her, “But yeah, of course I’ll help you both figure this out! After all, us first years have to stick together!” I smiled, nudging the girl’s shoulder.

I opened my mouth to tell her we should go, but then I remembered. “Oh yeah, hi Celeste, I’m Jam, it’s great meeting you!”

I looked behind me. Oh no! I thought. Somebody's chasing me! I ran faster but I shouldn't have because I ran right into the wall.

"WHY!" I screamed as I got back up. Then I realized my mistake, I was going the wrong way.

I turned around and kept running, keeping an eye out for the girl who was chasing me. What if she finds me? What if I don't get to the Hospital Wing in time? What would happen? What happens if a professor finds me? Questions streamed through my head as I dashed in no particular direction.

"Oof!" I ran into the wall again. This time I noticed that my nose was bleeding. Now I had an extra reason to go to the Hospital Wing.

I figured that running was no use because I was already going to miss class and have to make up the work later so I just walked. I finally was able to breath when I saw a corridor I recognized. The Hospital Wing was at the end of it. I was almost there! Then again, if things went perfect for a little first year Hufflepuff like myself, I wouldn't be in this situation. Yep, I was still not in the right corridor. Right now, all I could hope for was that other girl to come and find me because I had officially given up.
