One Alan Vanes had found his way to the duelling club area. This would mark a special occasion, one of many to follow as he was no longer entering this room as a duelling captain but as a simple duellist, ready to test the limits and possibilities of his won capabilities. There were few duelling partners his age that he could ask for a fair and square duel, so who was to say he couldn't increase the number of opponents in order to defeat them one after the other. It could both boost his own agility and keep him on his toes, while also allowing the younger ones to face off against a bigger threat, one they would no longer face naturally in the duelling club's official matches.
It made Alan wonder if such a thing could be fair at all or if they were doomed to fail. He didn't consider himself exceptionally skilled with the wand, however he did not need to fake humbleness in knowing that he was quite capable at evading attacks that could otherwise make him suffer. It was his skill that he had honed over the years while slowly, and he meant slowly, also increasing his other skill sets. He was, now, curious, how he would fare in such a duel and thus found his way into the duelling room, settling near a free duelling piste. Perhaps he could find some students that showed interest in such a feat?

❂《 ⌜ --- ▎ --:-- ⌟▛▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔The Duelling Club had always been the go to for Raizel, kind of a part of her life now. While, as one of the Gryffindor duelists, it would only be natural for her to be here as she does need to practice, even if she didn't manage to get on that list, she would probably find herself in this very place. One could say that duelling was indeed her passion for no matter how many times she had been beaten down, she kept coming back up. Even if there were times that she was tempted to just quit, she didn't. No, more like she couldn't because aside from that, there are still other things that's making her push through and she'd rather not give up until she reaches her own goals.
It was one of those days, the usual days where she just used her free time to practice a couple of spells, maybe some of the 3rd year ones that she had managed to grab during her studies. What was surprising was the lone figure standing close to one of the free piste. She recognizes the person of course, Alan Vanes, former Gryffindor captain but still part of Gryffindor's duellists. What he was doing there that she doesn't know but perhaps he was waiting for an opponent, or a practice partner. Then again, he could just be giving the Duelling club a look.
Go beyond, that has always been Raizel's motto in duelling. She was the duellist that would fight anyone even if they might be a year longer. What she's seeing right now was an opportunity to see for herself the skills of the duellists known as Alan Vanes. But of course, that might not be too fun for the 7th year. Still, she approached but was more curious on who he is fighting and would still have loved to watch him duel on that piste. She might not get another chance, especially when he is close to graduating. "Are you duelling someone?" She asked, curiosity filled those hazel eyes of hers while looking up to her senior. "Or just here to practice?"

Alyssea should really stop coming to the Duelling Club as a pastime. Her time could've been better spent as a captain and doing captain things, but nope. She hardly went outdoors on her broom to fly and strategize, but she would be on the piste. As soon as she would be released from classes, she'd run up to the fourth floor and throw spells at some dummies.tba; interacting with @Alan Vanes and @Raizel Voltrouz
It was funny to think that a year ago from now, she was running up to the fourth floor to spend hours singing and dancing in the Rehearsal Room. Where did her hobbies and interests go? Throwing yourself into everything Hogwarts had to offer certainly changed one's trajectory.
When she opened the door, there was her favourite Gryffindor already inside. Surprise would not describe how Alyssea felt seeing Raizel inside. There was also another person in the club, someone Alyssea had never met nor seen around the place. She should really expand her social circle to more than just Hufflepuffs.
"Hey, Rai!" Alyssea greeted the familiar face. She then bowed her head to the stranger. "I don't think we've met before. Nice to meet you."
Alyssea turned to Raizel again. "What're you doing here, today?"

Oh, shoot. Why were there always people in the Duelling Club, even when there were no official competition or official practice? Honestly, sometimes he just wanted to be left alone, to have an empty room for the sake of privacy, to be able to do anything that he wanted without curious eyes and ears all around judging and stupid mouths commenting. Was it too much to ask for a private duelling practice session?
If there was something worse than having people practising when he was, it would be people who cramped the room just to gossip. Gossip. That was such a despicable thing to do, that was an activity which translated as "judging someone from the speaker's own point of view and passing the likely untrue words to someone else, who may take the false speculation as an undeniable truth". And gossiping seemed to be what the three people who caught his attention were doing, at least the two girls, even though Maverick really did not pay attention to what they said, thus now knowing for sure.
In a split of second, Maverick Castle realised that he too was judging these three, that he was looking at them through his own eyes and did not even try to position himself as them. The part-Veela shook his head. Maybe he really ought to mind his own business, waiting for them to leave instead of looking at them negatively just because he was annoyed with the situation of not being alone in the room.

Some time after classes always brought Bea to the duelling room. It was her life now. Between the official matches and becoming a captain throughout the Summer, the girl had made it her personality. Not like some of the crazy fanatics, but enough that it kept her busy. Kept her thinking of home and her family and her muggle grandparents and her- no. Enough. Irritation washed over her like a tidal wave. Thede thoughts were like annoying little bugs, picking at her until she was defeated. But it wouldn't happen. Her plants and duelling would see to that.
Stepping into the Duelling Club, Bea surveyed the room. There were already people practicing, having spent the precious minutes after class rushing to find a free piste here instead of talking. Her eyes stopped on one such fellow. Fellow prefect and former Duelling Captain Alan Vanes. She hadn't had much interaction with him outside of the polite hellos and what not, but that was going to change as her feet moved in his direction without being told. It would be good to verse an older year. A seventh year to boot. Bea grinned when she saw who was with him. Raizel, her precious troublemaker, another girl she had yet to meet and...was that the boy she saw in the corridors? It had been a while ago and her memory was a bit fuzzy. What a strange little group. Surely Alan wasn't going to duel all of them?
Nodding once she reached the group, she raised her eyebrows in a questioning manner, eyes twinkling at Alan. "Hi Alan. Hi everyone. Duelling today? Maybe I can join?"

𝓑ex didn’t love being as afraid of something as she was duelling. Especially when the fear was as irrational as it was, seeing as neither bludgers nor passageways taken at top speed caused her any sort of stress at all. Cast so much as a Verdimillious in her general direction though and you’d be amazed at how fast such a tiny little thing could run.
Her duel with Raizel had numbed the irrational anxiety it caused her somewhat, but the Duelling Club still filled her with the sort of dread that she usually only experienced in Transfiguration class. She’d been putting in the effort though to try and overcome this, and even though she had a strong preference to never duel again herself if she could help it, she didn’t mind watching other people’s duels too terrible.
As long as the spells weren’t aimed at her, all was well in Rebecca-town.
As such, she was just generally hanging around the club when she could find the time, peeking in on both friends’ and strangers’ duels alike. When she saw both Raizel and Alyssea (along with two other students she hadn’t met before) approach one of the older students, she couldn’t resist making her way over to the group to see what was going on.
“Hullo Raizel, Alyssea, people who aren't Raizel or Alyssea.” She said, waving at the group. “Are you all going to have a duel? Can I watch?”
OOC Notes: Raizel and I have a running joke that Raizel doesn't know Bex's name, so please don't say it in front of her if you can avoid it!

While Alyssea was personally unfamiliar with the next two who walked into the duelling club, she knew them from various places. Maverick Castle was a Headliner reporter much like Alyssea herself, although she was a backup and wasn't writing on the monthly issues often. Beatrice Langstreth was a healing intern she met a month ago after Raizel clocked out from her broom race. Nice people from what little interaction Alyssea had with them.
Maverick was a broom racer as far as she remembered the fall races but Alyssea didn't know what sport Beatrice did. Definitely not a broom racer since Hufflepuff was up against Ravenclaw in the fall races. Quidditch? Or maybe even a duellist? Alyssea nodded her head to greet them and smiled. "Hello, and of course you can join! You, too, Castle. Duels are more fun that way."
Alyssea placed herself at one end of the piste and pulled out her aspen wand. "Come on, we can do this," she whispered to her wand. Though her wand didn't have a name like her brooms, she knew wands had as much personality as a broom would. The initial success from her first official match calmed her nerves but she knew not to keep her hopes too high.

❂《 ⌜ --- ▎ --:-- ⌟▛▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔And then the room was filled with other people before she knew it, which wasn't that surprising. The duelling club might not look like it but people flock to it if they want to just cast some spells or try duelling. Luckily for her, the people who approached them were someone that she knows. There's Alyssea, Bea, and… oh, right, what was the other Ravenclaw's name again? Well, nevermind, she’ll remember. Then there was another but he was only a bit familiar.
"Heyya, I was actually practicing." She answered Alyssea's question first and then turned towards Bea. For all she knows, she doesn't have any plans of duelling and while she wanted to ask Alan for a spar earlier, she wasn't exactly thinking of going through with it but now. "Didn't know there was a duel going on. Can I join?" She asked with a grin, scratching her head. It has been a while since she had tried participating in unofficial duels. She was just taking it easy for now. She then looked towards the other Ravenclaw. "Oh, I don't mind."
If they agree, she would make her way to where Alyssea went, standing just a couple of distance away from her as they do need space when it comes to avoiding spells coming their way. She drew out her wand, rolling her shoulders to loosen up some stiff joints. Now then, how will they survive against Alan Vanes, 7th year Gryffindor Duellist. This won’t turn out well for them but it’ll be an experience for sure.

Beatrices eyes whipped to the newcomer as she approached. Was she in Ravenclaw? Bea felt like she was, a nagging feeling int he pit of her stomach that this was a baby eagle that she didn't know. And the fact that she was prefect made it worse. She should know who was in her house! Nodding at the girls question, Bea twirled her wand, a serious jovial look alighting her eyes. "Of course! You're more than welcome to! Your an eagle right? Maybe this might persuade you into joining the duelling club?" A laugh followed the light tone.
Bea had persuaded Raizel to join, and now look at her. A prodigy in her own right. The others, other than Alan who was known far and wide as a duellist, Bea didn't know what sport they played. She'd met the Hufflepuff, Alyssea was her name? Bea couldn't fully remember, only being focused on Raizel when they had met. A stupid broom race had injured her pretty bad, and Bea took it as another reason why brooms just shouldn't be a thing. Not for magical transport anyway. Use them to sweep and get those icky spiders out of corners, but she wasn't going to be seated on one for long periods of time. No. Thank. You. It was why she had chosen duelling in the first place.
Raising an eyebrow as the setup was formed, she grinned at Alan. "Four against one Vanes? That isn't fair." She wasn't going to say to who, but the third year had an inkling that it was them that would going down today.

Alan was happy to be approached by other students, the only worrying part about this was that all of them were so young. He was a seventh year now and asking any of them would have been considered a cruelty unless it was mostly about playing target for them. Then again he had quite enjoyed the spar with Avery a while ago. The wizard had held his head up high despite Alan not holding back either. Alan of course would also never take it too far or be needlessly evil about the way he would cast. His spells were more for his amusement rather than anything else.
"Well I am here to duel, but it is rare to find someone willing to duel a seventh year and the other seventh years tend to be too busy with N.E.W.T.s to be focussing on silly duels," he explained his troubles to Raizel, who had been part of his.... well part of the Gryffindor's duelling team for quite some time now and seemed like a quite capable young witch. Another girl, if Alan quite remembered correctly belonging to house Hufflepuff, joined them too and Alan gave her a light smile. "I have seen you duel, you are quite good," he greeted her, "the name is Alan, nice to meet you too," he ended the little introduction before glancing about the room. They were obviously young, but if theere were more to flock around then he might as well propose something a little crazy.
A boy he knew only in passing also joined, a Gryffindor, which is probably why he at least seemed vaguely familar. After all Alan had been their prefect for over a year at that point. Before another familiar face made itself known, making Alan grin. "Hey Bea, sure, if they are all up to it?" he glanced at Raizel and Alyssea briefly, before also allowing his gaze to flicker to the nameless Gryffindor boy. "Hey, do you have a practice partner yet? I reckon I could take all four of you in a duel or at the very least provide some good target practice for you all," he allowed with a chuckle. Four against one seemed somewhat fair enough, didn't it? If not he would perhaps have to test with trial and error what exactly the limits to such feats were. He gave the late comer who asked to watch a shrug, "Well that really depends on whether or not they dare," he offered playfully.
Upon hearing the words of one Beatrice the prefect grinned. "Well perhaps you might as well just give up now, if you don't dare, if all of you land at least one hit then Butterbeer is on me," he offered a wager. After all what better to boost morale than a little wager?
