《 ⌜ November 5, 2023Sometime after the duel
Things could've been better than that…

That's all Raizel could think about as soon as she had regained consciousness after that duel. Right, it could've been better, she could've done way more but she couldn't. It was… frustrating. She did her best but it wasn't enough. When was her best enough though? She's been trying so hard yet it feels like she's still stuck at the starting point. There was no progress… well, aside from the fact that her spell didn't backfired on her but that was still considered a failure.

That duel will surely be etched on her mind for a long time. At least she did well right? Unlike her teammates, she didn't freeze up on that piste. She didn't let her nerves get to her despite the crowd that was watching that duel.

The crowd… now that she thinks about it, people are watching that duel. Ah, more humiliation. As if her thoughts weren't enough to tear her apart from the inside. Now she has to face the humiliation of losing in front of a big crowd. Then again, the thought never came to her during the duel. Maybe it did at one point but she was too focused on that duel to even think about it. All she could see was her teammates, their opponents and their duel moderator. Was that a good thing or a bad thing? She wonders if any of her friends even watched her that time but… she doubts it. That made her chuckle but not in a happy way. Maybe it was better that they didn't. Not like she did well.

She does remember hearing someone cheering for her but that means that she just let them down. That made her sigh and get up from the bed, sitting on the edge. She's wasting her time here. She already feels better anyway, physically. Mentally and emotionally? No, that'll need time. Magic healing sure is amazing but even that won't be enough to distract her from her thoughts or the feelings that she's trying to ignore. What to do, anything that's better than lying around and doing nothing. Another practice? Right after that duel gone wrong? Perhaps.

Keep moving, no time to rest. Her goal just got further away and she needs to catch up fast.

november 5th 2023; interacting with @Raizel Voltrouz
After changing into fresh clothes that weren't singed at the seams, grabbing a few cupcakes from the house elves in the kitchen, and visiting EmmaLee in her bed, Alyssea looked around the beds for another person. There were, inevitably, a lot of casualties after today's duels. She counted herself lucky enough to not be one of them. Just some burnt clothes and nothing more.

Then, a girl rose up and sat on the edge of the bed. Alyssea recognized her. Right, she was also here to see Raizel. Raizel lived up to her house's stereotype, having been the last man standing right to the end even as the odds were against her. Alyssea looked at the last two cupcakes in her hands. Raizel definitely deserved one.

So, Alyssea walked up towards her bed and held out one cupcake. "You want one? They're pretty good." For Alyssea's taste, the cupcakes were much sweeter than she liked, but she still liked them. She never had the heart to tell the elves to change it. Alyssea hoped Raizel would take one and give it a try.

"Thanks for a good duel, by the way," Alyssea smiled, "I was pretty scared going into it. And... you did really well all things considered."

“I hope she'll be a fool — that's the best thing a girl can be in this world, a beautiful little fool.”

《 ⌜ November 5, 2023Sometime after the duel
She was ready to move, to get back to practicing. With the dueling club probably getting used since it's dueling day, she would need to find a different place. Where though? The lake? The grounds? Those are places with good enough space to prevent people getting hit by her failed spells.

Raizel just assumed that her spells would fail, didn't she? Not good. She held her head, shaking it. Need to clear up her mind. It was at that time that someone approached her and held out a cupcake. She almost jumped, not gonna lie, for that completely caught her off guard. She was too deep in thought to even remember that there were others here. She stared at the cupcake, and then to Alyssea, looking like she was taking her time to recognize her as her brain was still switching back into reality. "O-Oh, thanks." She accepted the offer as she would find it rude not to and maybe some sugar could help after that draining duel.

"If you think that was good, then you're welcome." Raizel responded with a tired smile. A good duel she says… if you did well, then it is but she couldn't say the same with her and her team. They probably looked like a mess on that piste. She laughed when she mentioned being scared which was a bit impossible to imagine. "There was nothing to be scared of. You guys did well and even won." She told her with a grin. Of course that loss hurts, it hurts down to the core for someone like Raizel who can get competitive and had worked hard for this duel yet the reward for it wasn't hers for the taking. But what would feeling things about it do?

"Ahahaha, did I? Well, I can't just give up after all despite the mess. Gotta keep fighting. Who knew really." She was hoping for a miracle during that duel but alas, she wasn't blessed by one aside from Axyen's spell backfiring. "Anyway, did you come and visit one of your teammates?" She asked as she just remembered the only person that was knocked out on the opposite team, taking a bite from the cupcake before wincing at the sweetness. That was too sweet but it should be enough to get her energy back. She does still seem tired, the usual cheerfulness and enthusiasm wasn't there but it was expected considering what just happened in that duel.
