Zach's hand became colder and colder. It might be caused by the temperature of the night or his fear. It could be both. Then he heard the older was asking something to him, about the idea of them going back to the cabin. Zach wanted to go back to the cabin but he couldn't unless he found his diary. It was so important because it contained all the spells Zach had to learn to do his duel in the summer game. If the diary went to his opponent's hand, they might plan something to counter him because it also showed the spells he had learned and the strategies he had made. He didn't want that to happen. Making the team disadvantaged because of his carelessness and to be hated because of that? No, he didn't want anybody to hate him in his early year of school.
"I can't go back to the cabin right now. I have to..." he was unsure if he wanted to say it because the boy seemed not from his school. But the thing was, Zach couldn't recognize if someone from his school or not. He must take the risk to get his diary. "I have to look for my diary. It was lost somewhere around here," he said with a shaky voice, "It's... it's important for me..." If the light was adequate, they might see his face turned red with eyes full of tears.
He suddenly had a thought about asking the dog for help. The dog seemed to understand what the older boy was saying and became calmer yet still had a cautious look towards them. And he remembered a movie he had watched in his muggle home that dog could easily find something. But he was not in the muggle area and most of the things that happened here couldn't be thought of with the same muggle logic. He must think about what things will calm the dog and make the dog friendlier. If the dog didn't want to help him search his diary, at least he could search it himself without being scared of the dog.

It didn't seem as if it wanted to attack them now and even appeared to be moving back away from them. Could it possibly be an Animagus? It wouldn't be much of a stretch for him to think this, especially considering the animal's reaction. But of course, there was just as equal a chance that it was a Hogsmeade resident's pet that had gotten out at night. However, if Tone had to guess one or the other, he'd probably put his money on the dog being an Animagus, it was just a feeling he got. Still, even if it was one, it was obvious they wanted to be left alone... Tone could take a hint, although it seemed Zach was a bit different from him... Zach's response to his earlier question about going back to the cabins made Tone remember why he'd come over in the first place. "Ah! I forgot about that. If that's the case, don't worry! I found a diary or journal and saw you searching for something on the ground earlier, so I came over to see if it was yours. Is your name Zach Zaphiere?" He asked and let his eyes flicker over the younger boy behind him. Upon seeing tears fill Zach's eyes, Tone leaned down to bring his face closer to Zach's own face. It was almost as if he was going to kiss him. And then Tone raised a finger to gently wipe away a tear stain from Zach's cheek and patted his head. "Don't cry, your treasure is safe with me. Here." Tone told him and handed him the diary he'd found, once Zach confirmed that his name was the name he'd spoken before. "I'm Tone." He added, introducing himself, having forgotten until now that neither of them knew eachother's names. Well, except for him. Due to the diary, if it belonged to him, Tone already knew the boy's name. He looked back over at the location where the possible Animagus-possible escaped pet had been. "Want to take a seat somewhere and talk for a bit until you calm down?" Tone asked with a smile, trying to lighten the mood a bit more. |

Zach was surprised when the boy in front of him said that he saw a diary and he was more sure that the diary he had found was his after the pink-haired boy asked if he was Zach Zaphiere. "Y-you found it? Uh yeah... That's m-my name." The feeling that he felt at that time was indescribable. How it was not? He was very happy that finally, he could find his diary. But on the other hand, he was surprised that the one who found the book was a student whom he had not met before, which also meant that he might be from the other school.
Suddenly, he leaned forward until his face was very close to Zach's. Then, Zach felt a warm hand gently wipe away the tears on his cheeks. The boy also patted Zach's head, giving him a sense of security. "He's not bad and I just hope he didn't open my diary and tell his dueling team anything I've learned, or I'm doomed," Zach thought to himself.
"Thank you," Zach murmured, his voice barely audible. And the next was Zach learnt his name. The boy introduce himself as Tone. He also asked Zach if he wanted to seat somewhere and Zach nodded to respond him.
Zach looked at the dog for some seconds to see what it was doing before followed Tone anywhere they wanted to sit. After they took a seat, Zach immediately said, "Thank you so much for finding my diary." He paused for some seconds and continued, "Where did you find it?"

He wondered if it would leave the area now that they'd withdrawn, or if it would stay there until they left. If a person came walking out soon, it would mean the dog had been an Animagus. Most likely that is. But as of right now, Tone didn't see anything around them. The pink haired teen focused his attention on Zach, deciding to make him into his friend too. Yes, Zach was his newest target and he wouldn't give up on him until he'd accomplished his current task! One could never have too many friends. As Zach came over to take a seat next to him, Tone nodded at his words. "No problem. Glad to be of assistance!" The boy replied. When Zach asked him where he'd found it, Tone raised a hand and pointed towards a clump of trees off in the distance. "Right over there by the trunk of one of those large trees. I thought someone had dropped it by accident since it wasn't placed down anywhere for safekeeping. So I thought I'd try and see if the owner was nearby looking for it. If I didn't find anyone, I would have continued to search tomorrow...." Tone told him. "I'm glad it was able to return to its owner!!!" He reached over to massage Zach's shoulder for a short time. "It's a stroke of luck too that I found you in time to save you from that dog!" Tone added. He was half-joking because seriously the teen didn't think the dog meant any serious harm towards him. But he could have been wrong, who knew? Tone would always tend to risk himself getting hurt over others if he could save them. Of course, he wouldn't jump in headfirst to do so if there were other people around to help out. It wasn't like he was going after the hero status. That particular word carried a lot of trauma for him. However, if someone Tone knew and was close to got hurt though, he'd do everything he could to help them. Even if there were others doing the same. "It's getting late, we should head back inside. But you and me, we should become friends, don't you think? We should meet up again later this summer. I hear there will be tons of events to participate in. Maybe we'll see eachother in some of them!" Tone told him with a smile. He glanced around to see if he could spot the dog again but couldn't see well in the darkness. Plus, the dog could have been hiding. Still, he couldn't help but be curious. Who was it? If it was a witch or wizard... "I'll see you soon, Zach!" Tone told him with a grin and leaned over to give him an affectionate hug. Once it was over, he got up and headed off, back to his cabin. To reunite with everyone there. Maybe Eun-ji would be there by now and he could bother spend some time with her again! |
