It was sort of a spontaneous decision.

But, then again, if you expected anything else from Talia Piper by now, what were you thinking? She was full of spontaneous decisions. Today's choice was to have a picnic on the grounds. It reminded Tal of the pretend tea parties she'd have with her stuffed animals and even the little creatures she managed to (sort of) tame when she was younger.

The smol girl unfolded her fluffy bright yellow blanket and patted out the wrinkles so it was smooth on the cold, grassy ground. Then she put down the little wicker basket full of food that the elves had generously supplied her with. Tal loved the house elves. They were sweet little things and deserved the world. A lot of people deserved the world.

Taking another colourful blanket and wrapping herself up in it, Tal opened the basket and took out a cookie. It was a lonely cookie, she could taste it in the sugar. But sometimes being alone wasn't the worst. Still, it would be nice to have a friend, Tal thought. One could never have too many friends. She took a bite of the lonely cookie and fell onto her back, gazing up at the clouds, trying to decipher pictures out of the white fluffs. She giggled to herself whenever she found one and hummed along to some unknown melody.

Her thoughts drifted away, and she was soon in a daydream where she was a princess in a cloud castle in the sky with a bunch of puppies.

(Can I just say how glamorous your posts are? I use normal stuff sob)

Miko obviously was wandering about on the grounds because...for some reason he always does that. This time, though, was different from the rest because he came bearing several cookies in a small basket he had snuck out of the well-known wizarding school, Hogwarts. Of course he never thought he would sneak cookies out of school before seeing as that was not a normal thing to do and of course Gyro's were his go-to snack to sneak. Sneacc a snacc. More like meal but eh.

He was gaining to Tal but being the blind boi he is, he couldn't see her yet. Miko was wearing his robes over a little Quidditch sweater and just some black slacks. Normally he wouldn't wear his uniform under his robes because...why would anyone do that? Besides his family isn't the richest, he has his clothes and like two sets of his uniform which were both being washed at the moment so all he had was his normal clothing which he always preferred over uniforms. The lad just wasn't a uniform kind of guy, too uptight for him.

Of course something to him had to happen. What may that be, you might be asking me through the screen? Well Miko tripped and fell flat on his face in the ice cold grass. The cookies (thank goodness) were saved and the basket fell on it's bottom as the boy flailed his arms around, trying to catch himself.

I'll give you a hint.
He did not catch himself.
At all, in fact.
Not even close to doing it.
The cookies were saved though which is good.

Tal had just been admiring her imaginary cloud kingdom when she heard a bit of a crash come from somewhere near her. Being the sky princess she was, Talia had to save whoever had just fallen.

She hopped up from where she had been chilling on her blanket, and walked closer to the source of the noise. When she was able to use her exceptional princess powers to locate the person in distress, a boy who seemed to have tripped, she flounced over towards him, already putting on her royal smile. Yay, friends!

When she had finally finished her quite regal approach and gotten close enough to the boy to socialize comfortably, she noticed something. It was Miko! The tall boy she had met at the Hufflepuff party! This was even better.

“Hiya, Miko!” She squealed, holding her miniature hands out to help him up. “You okay?” After all, that’s what princesses do, right? Rescue the princes?

For some odd reason, Princess Tal seemed to meet and bond with a whole bunch of people by falling. And this was Miko! And he had cookies, too! They could have a picnic together!

Tal’s mind raced with thoughts and possibilities of fun things to do with the friend. She laughed to herself, and decided to ask the boy if he’d like to hang out with her for a bit! Because Yay, Friends!

“Would you like to join my picnic?”
And shush, you’re just so glamorous you don’t even need any fancy additions to have an amazing post :p

A ruffle in the grass was heard by Miko and his head raised from it. Next thing he new, a high pitch voice was heard right by his head and the boy practically flew up from being startled. The voice seemed familiar...was it...Ana...no..T-T...Tal! Yes, Tal! The nice girl he met at the chaotic party! No need to be alarmed now, right? Unless she was carrying a dangerous weapon then...worry, yeah.

Miko twisted his neck from the ground to look up at the small Hufflepuff girl. "Yep..it's me, hey Tal, how's it goin'.." He smiled and took her hand deciding to use more of his strength than hers since he figured if he'd fully relied on her Tal would fall in the grass too. "Mhm...I'm alright I suppose, just falling again, nothing out of the ordinary."

Finally, his feet were on the ground not his face. The Scot brushed himself off and nodded, listening closely to his friend as she spoke to him. "Picnic?! Of course I want to join!" A goofy grin spread across Miko's face as he picked up the basket of cookies he'd brought and searched for an area where she might be holding a picnic.

Boom.

A few feet away was a small blanket laid down in the grass with a little basket on top. Seemed good enough for a picnic. Miko sat on the blanket, smoothing it out around him, it was a very soft and yellow blanket...a very good blanket at that.

The more Tal thought about it, the funnier the word picnic became. Picnic, picnic, picnic. What an interesting word, don’t you think? Picnic... What was it supposed to mean? Was someone just eating on a blanket outside when they were like, I’m gonna call this a picnic...?

Either way, the Hufflepuff liked the word picnic and liked what a picnic was. Picnic was fun to say. She repeated the word to herself in her head. Funny word.

Snapping back into reality, because the girl’s head was permanently in the clouds, Princess Tal smiled. “That’s good! I’m glad you’re alright, then I wouldn’t have a picnic buddy.”

She laughed to herself at the word picnic... again.

Tal sat back down where she had been before, wrapping the extra blanket around her. Then she looked over at Miko. Was he cold? “Do you want to share my blanket?” She asked cheerfully.

The girl also opened her basket of food, letting the sweet aroma spread around her with the help of the gentle morning breeze. She smiled widely at her friend, a true sky princess smile, and passed him the daisy she had found. “Flowers are cool. Just like you!”

Then she continued to eat her cookie.

It seemed Tal was made of blankets or something because she pulled out another blanket and wrapped it around herself. 'Do you want to share my blanket?' That one statement probably made Miko's day fifty percent better. "Me? Share your blanket with you?" He grinned, what a nice suggestion, quite cute too. And at that moment Miko already considered Talia his best friend.

After thinking for a minute or so he shook his head. "I think you need it more than me, honestly." Miko nodded, content with his decision. Tal probably needed a few more blankets to keep herself warm rather than him because of how small she was, maybe it was hard for her to stay warm? Maybe not though, but better safe than sorry. Besides Miko was practically a snow leopard, he loved the cold and was really used to it as he was born in Scotland.

Miko watched her open the basket, smelling whatever was in it which smelled amazing. He took the daisy Tal gave him and tilted his head, listening to what she said afterwards. 'Flowers are cool. Just like you!' Yep, day made. Choking on tears, Miko nodded. "Yeah you too!" A smile spread across his face as he inhaled sharply, keeping the tears in.

That was sweet, it hurt.
Not a bad hurt.
A good hurt like feelings.
Like his heart exploded kind of hurt.
Not a bad explosion.
Like an explosion of more hearts.

The Hufflepuff twirled the flower in his hand, the smile pretty much glued to his face. Miko looked down at a small pocket on his chest and gently put the flower in it. "Perfect." He opened the basket that he was carrying. A delicious scent filled the air, meeting with the other aromas. There were several different typed of cookies in there. There was chocolate chip, red velvet, sugar cookies, gingerbread cookies and too many more.

Special thanks to the awesome cooks, The House Elves of Hogwarts. Thank you for your food and making this picnic happen.  <3

The blanket was quite big. Definitely big enough to the point where Tal had extra blanket. And sharing was caring, like they always said! Tal liked caring, caring was good and fun and helpful and made the world a better place! So the small girl nodded, and draped the other side of the blanket over Miko’s shoulder.

Talia was pretty stubborn. Especially when it came to sharing blankets. And to the sweet girl, this was practically rebellion.

“I’m sharing the blanket anyways,” she declared confidently, looking at her friend with a playful sparkle in her caramel brown eyes. Then added, “Unless you don’t want it,” because Talia Piper was certainly not one for forcing somebody to do something. Nope, she wouldn’t.

So when Miko accepted her flower gift and put it in his pocket and told her she was cool, too, the girl couldn’t help but grin a cheerful grin and laugh. “We have a lot of food. This will be fun!”

Friends made everything better. Lonely picnic time wasn’t lonely anymore, it was just picnic time! And now Talia has a friend to ask her important question to. A question with an answer that would change the world as everyone knew it.

Well, maybe it would only be life-changing for Tal, but still...

Turns out he didn't even have to ask to get some blanket, she gave it to him anyway. Miko didn't mind, at least Tal was making sure he didn't get hypothermia, right? He looked down at an angle to see his friend and smiled, scooting closer so not all the blanket would be used by the pretty large gap between the two. This was going to be a moment to remember definitely.

Along with himself that he moved he brought the cookies too, shoving one in his mouth and eventually swallowing it. "Yeah we do!" A grin spread across Miko's face as he took another cookie and placed it on his lap before scooting the basket in front of both of them so Tal could reach too.

As he ate his other cookie, the Hufflepuff nodded in thought. He wondered if he would be eating cookies alone if Tal wasn't here or if she would have found him instead like was the picnic made to happen together or alone and Miko just accidentally changed their fates? Maybe it was made for them to be friends! It seemed like it, she seemed to like him and he liked her a lot too! She was fun and nice and small, a good friend.

'Do you think clouds are marshmallows?'
The statement snapped him out of thought and he gulped down the last bit of cookie he was chewing.

"Clouds..? Marshmallows..? I dunno but wouldn't it be nice if they were? That would be unhealthy but tasty nonetheless." He was happy with his answer seeing as it would be nice if clouds were marshmallows. It would mean rain was actually marshmallow fluff which seemed highly unlikely and highly unhealthy but..tasty. If clouds really were marshmallows then he wondered if planes were made to go through them, or if the clouds were like weird marshmallows you can't touch.

Tal’s smile was probably never going to leave her face at this point. She took another cookie. This cookie was special, because...

“Look! The chocolate chips make a happy face!” she exclaimed. The way she treated the chocolate smiley face made it seem as if the girl had found a cure for her mother. Because the happy cookie was a very important discovery!

Because Tal was worried that the happy cookie had feelings and emotions and was scared of being eaten, the girl settled for putting the cookie down on the lid of the picnic basket, smiling back at it affectionately. Then she turned the loving smile back to Miko.

“Yeah! I think that clouds could be marshmallows. Maybe if you imagine hard enough!”

Tal took a cookie that did not have a smiley face or any emotions and took a bite. She looked up at the sky. “Do you see any pictures in the clouds? See, that one... that one looks like a whale!” she squealed, pointing at one of the fluffy white clouds in the air. “And that one, that one is a bunny rabbit!”

She looked back to Miko, smiling cheerfully, a big, dimply smile. A signature Tal smile. One that could make anyone feel happy, too!

Ah, of course, along with any good picnic always came the cloud gazing. This classic game is very simple, you find a cloud and sometimes they look like other objects, then you show it to your partner! Very fun and a usual for mainly two people to do at a time but larger groups make it funner, the bigger the better, right?

Miko looked up and made sure he looked to where it seemed where Tal was pointing. For him, the cloud looked more like a weird fish or something not a whale but he could see how it looked kind of like that. Switching his gaze to a different cloud, the boy nodded slowly and pointed at it.

"That one looks like an airplane!"

Were smiles contagious because at the moment it seemed they were. He looked at Talia and back to the cloud he was pointing at before lowering his hand, a kind smile showing. Contagious. Definitely.

The Hufflepuff looked down to the cookie his friend was talking about a few minutes before. The way the chocolate chips were arranged did make it seem like the cookie was smiling and he understood why Tal didn't eat it. The cookie seemed like it was happy and that's an emotion so she probably wanted to be careful if it did which was a valid concern.

A wispy and curvy cloud floated across the sky and Miko looked up to it, pointing. "It looks like a snake!" The sentence seemed like the boy was referring to the last cloud he pointed to but hopefully the other would get that he was talking about the most recent one.
