A Purrr-fect Companion pet

Willow pulled up her striking red hair into a ponytail and smiled. She had been looking forward to this day all month, and she just knew that it was going to go perfectly. The money she had been saving in her pocket, Willow pushed open the door to the Menagerie. She was greeted immediately by the chatter of critters and the unmistakable smell of animals. Now, the only thing she had to worry about was what animal to choose.

Owls with tawny or snowy feathers rustled around, rats scampered in their cages, and glossy cats prowled around on soft paws. Little frogs and toads even jumped in glass tanks, while adorable pink-and-purple pygmy puffs rolled around, bumping into each other.

"Hello," Willow said quietly to the woman at the counter, who had white hair and a kind smile.

"Let me know if you need anything, dear," she said, and Willow began making her way around the shop, looking at all of the animals that she could choose from. She paused in front of the toad tank and took in the little green amphibians hopping merrily around, croaking; Willow liked frogs, but she wasn't sure she wanted one herself- something fluffy that she could cuddle would be more up her alley.

She moved on from the toads and looked at the owls. They were quite beautiful, with huge amber eyes and sleek wings that the owls preened and tucked their beaks into. Owls were quite useful, but still not what Willow was looking for. Perhaps a rat? No, she wanted something bigger. Maybe a tarantulla? No, that would be horrible- Willow didn't like spiders.

"Having trouble, dear?" The sweet shop owner asked, and Willow nodded. "What is it you're looking for?"

Willow thought for a moment. "Well," She began slowly, "something friendly, and soft- I want a pet that I can play with and snuggle."

"I think I have the perfect thing for you," the woman said kindly and led Willow to the back of the shop, where a dozen different cats in varying colors were playing and laying around. Of course! A cat would be perfect for Willow- just what she was looking for.

There were so many to choose from, though. Which one would become Willow's new furry friend? She looked around at the cats, some short-haired, some long, some with dark pelts, and others that were snowy white. Just then, one of the cats, a fluffy silver and white female, stepped lightly up to Willow and began to purr. She smiled, petted the cat on the head, and discovered that the cat was silky-soft. She looked at Willow with adorable grey eyes, and Willow couldn't resist the charm of this sweet feline.

"I'll take her," Willow said and scooped up the cat into her arms.

"Wonderful choice," Said the elderly shop owner, and Willow gave a huge smile. She was over the moon to have found a suitable companion for herself. She stroked the cat and whispered into her fur,

"We're going to be great friends,"
