The Train Doesn't SEEM Magical...
A girl leaned against the fuzzy seat, staring out the window and (hopefully) leaving London behind her. The snow littering the dead grass outside just made her want more sun. The clouds only made it seem hotter inside the compartment that she sat in. The countryside was pleasantly boring--in fact, she wasn't really sure if it was boring enough. She needed to be bored.
This train, while she knew it was... magic? Glamoured? Well, whatever. She at least knew it was supposed to be magical. But it was still hot and stuffy like most trains, and still, no one seemed to want to sit in the same compartment as her. At least not yet.
Her hazel eyes searched the compartment for anything remotely fun. While she had a few books in her messenger bag, they wouldn't keep her occupied for the entire trip, for she was a very fast reader. Her caramel-brown waves of hair were pulled back into a side ponytail with a small fishtail braid running down the length of it. She was wearing brand new dress robes which had been bought with her own money. Her own money, the money that she had earned by selling portraits she had drawn, because her adoptive father was too busy to give her money and his wife didn't want to give her any. Thankfully, she had a vault in Gringotts, but she hadn't known about that until she'd used up half of the pages in her sketchbook.
Her name was Koko. Pronounced "Cocoa," but spelled differently. It did somewhat reference her intense love of chocolate, but other than that she wasn't sure why her parents had given her that name. Koko glanced down at her Graff watch, which had been her biological mother's at one point, and sighed when she saw the time. They were nowhere near the school. Nowhere near the school, where Koko would be able to see the friends that she had already made at Hogwarts, and where she make new ones. And still, nobody was here in the compartment; nobody to talk to her. Leaning back, she glanced up at the ceiling and opened a book. Hopefully someone would walk in and ask to sit here. If not... Well, she'd have to do something about it.

The Train Doesn't SEEM Magical...
Coming home for the holidays had been... antagonizing. She had expected, ignorantly, that everything would change and her family would be more accepting of her but it was the complete opposite, and it was becoming more aggravating than sad. It wasn't as if it were her fault that she was a witch. One of her parents, or both, maybe, had magic blood in them that didn't awaken until she came along, for whatever reason. And she was starting to wish that she was a normal muggle again, someone who wasn't supposed to know about the wizarding world at all. Magical powers were great unless the people who you loved dearly wouldn't accept you for having them.
This is why Jesse sulked as she walked around the moving train, trying to find somewhere to sit. One side of her wanted to sit by others so she could try to be happier but the other side wanted to be alone in their sad existence. She'd usually choose extroversion but right now she didn't feel exactly up for it. Which is why she passed the girl sitting by herself at first.
She sunk into the seat of a nearby compartment, sighing as she gazed out the window. "What a terrible Christmas," she mumbled, watching her breath fog onto the window. She chewed on her lip, battling inside between fueling the anger and fueling the happiness that both wanted to rule over her mood. Jesse felt something on her face and watched her reflection in the window as a tear trickled down her cheek. She stared at it for a moment before sucking in a breath and getting up. Wiping her face, she knew things were getting bad if she was crying, because she rarely cried. As in only when she broke her rib in a car accident and when she was a baby.
She stepped out of the compartment, trying to remember if she'd seen anyone in the other ones. She vaguely remembered a girl in a red outfit with primly kept hair and she ambled forward, soon finding the girl. Jesse poked her head in and said, "Do you mind if I join? Silence deafens my ears sometimes, and I don't think that I've met you before."

The Train Doesn't SEEM Magical...
[quote]Another person. Finally. Koko glanced over to see a girl with dark hair enter the compartment. The other girl said something, and Koko’s first thought about that was, Her voice seems nice... she seems welcoming. Koko had gone through a terrible vacation from school, one so terrible that she wished that she had stayed at Hogwarts. It had been a holiday week full of fighting, yelling, and threatening, and she was ever so happy to be away from the chaos.
Forcing a smile on her face, she looked up at the new girl. ”I don’t think I’ve seen you around. You’re welcome to sit here,” Koko said politely. After all, it would be wonderful for her to make some new friends. Friends. It was a thing many took for granted, but something Koko held dear to her heart. ”My name is Koko, and one fact about me is that I really love chocolate,” she said to the new girl, hoping to prompt a reply.
The compartment made her want to die in a cold hole, due to the intense heat in the room. Koko squirmed in her seat, trying not to seem awkward but likely failing. A bead of sweat ran in a small rivulet down her forehead as she smiled at the other girl like a doofus, waiting for a reply.
