Task 2 - Create a Character/Setting
Who do you want to be in your story? Where do you want it to be set? You have a choice of either developing a character for your story or the setting of your story (or both if you can), but I'd like to see as much detail as possible for either. If you are creating a character, you can describe their appearance, their backstory, any strengths or weaknesses or character flaws, their motivations and maybe even why they are significant to the plot. If you are creating a setting, you can develop the area's history, describe its current appearance, mention any significant characters that are located there and again include the location's significance to the plot.

Lily- Our first protagonist is named Lily Palmer, a seventeen year old gymnast. She is pretty popular at school, a naturally cute girl, smart, funny, kind, and caring person. She is an only child, and lives with her parents, they are well off financially, and have a good relationship as a family. She has a single dog, a six year old golden retriever named Larry. She especially loves writing, it is a major passion of hers, and something she quite enjoys, especially when that writing is done at school. Lily is quite sensitive though, and can get her feelings hurt really easily, or very embarrassed, and when she is, she seeks comfort from her two wonderful friends. She loves her friends, and is really close with them, they tell each other basically everything. She is alright with only having two friends, most people only have two or three, and she would rather better friends than more friends, but is pretty good with most people, because she is popular. Lily has long, straight, light brown hair and fair light skin. She is a little under average height for her age, so about 5'2. She has a crush on this other boy Mark, one of her classmates. Since the book is a romance, it is centered around them and their relationship.

Mark- The next protagonist is named Mark Davis, he too is a seventeen year old just like his classmate and love interest Lily. He is a hockey player who plays forward, and is very popular at school. He has the typical hockey boy haircut and dirty blonde hair. He is approximately or a little bit over 5'4 in height and not too big of a guy. He is pretty nice, funny, athletic, and not the smartest, but still manages to pass. He doesn't really care too much about school but goes only because he has to and to see his friends. He mostly just cares about hockey and friends, and Lily of course. He does not want anyone including his friends knowing about his feelings for her, so he has always kept them a secret, for the twoish years that he has liked her. He has one younger brother named Jayden, whos twelve years old. He has an alright relationship with his family, but spends most of his time while at home in his room. His brother likes to randomly come in if he wants to play with Mark, which he has mixed feelings about. Mark plans on saying something to Lily soon, but he doesn't know when or what.

Setting: 428/400
This story is set in the present day. It starts near the end of the school year, within the last month. The characters live in Vancouver, BC, Canada. They are in a fairly old part of the city, in a nice, wealthier neighborhood, although everywhere in Vancouver is really expensive. The area may be old, but it is in good condition, along with the school. They get funding from the residents of the area to make sure that it stays maintained. The school is a high school, which is grade eight to twelve there, but the field trip is only meant for the grade elevens. The skating rink is about a forty-five minute drive away from the school by bus, so its not too far but still not too close. Since it is set near the end of the year, it is currently spring time. The outdoors look really beautiful right now, with all of the nice spring flowers blooming and the trees getting their leaves back. The school is quite large, since it has to hold so many kids, and its main school colors are white, blue, and grey. It is a rectangular shaped school in the front, but a study room and library take up the space in the back in a circular shape this time. Lily has quite a nice, comfy room, it has a soft, warm, white comforter, fairly lights, white curtains to keep all the light out at night but lets it all in during the day. She had one single stuffie laying on her queen sized bed, a little teddy bear that her dad gave her when she was really little, that she could never let go of, it had emotional value to her. Marks room on the other hand was really messy. It has clothes scampered across the floor, a half burnt out light, lots of posters covering the walls, and a loud speakers standing on his desk. His bed was a disaster and was not made up, Mark couldn't even remember the last time he has cleaned in there. Many people in Vancouver play hockey, so its no surprise that Mark does, and no surprise that Lily likes them either, cause that's mostly all whom she sees. Because of such a huge range of people who play, their school like most, has their very own hockey team, but Mark does not play for them. Instead, he plays hockey outside of school, for a different team not too far, only about a ten or so minute drive away from his house.

Task 3 - Make a schedule
How often will you be able to work on your story? Set a daily/weekly goal to reach, and hopefully it can help to motivate you, or make it seem easier to complete 50,000 words in November. To reach 50,000 words, you will need to do at least 1670 words per day, or 12,500 words per week, but you are welcome to create a schedule that fits your availability.

I will try my best to write at least 1667 words a day, or hopefully at least 12,000 a week, even if that means going over the recommended one day because I was short another. I'm hoping to get at least 30,000 words this month though, as it is my first NaNoWriMo I've ever attempted. If I could manage to get the 50,000 though, that would just be great!!
