Lessons had ended for the day, and immediately after the students had been "set free", a girl had headed outside – despite the chill in the air. She was now leaning against a tree, staring out at everything in front of her. Overall, this girl was decently pretty, with brown hair in a single plait down her back, light blue eyes, and pale, unblemished skin. She wore her robes, which were embellished with the crest of Slytherin house, and underneath were clothes designed to keep her safe from the cold (without making her too warm). However, her physical features and what she was wearing were far from the most important things about her. There was something strange about this girl. Multiple somethings, in fact. For one, her posture was perfect. She stood up straight, which made her look confident and helped her exude a certain air, but she didn't seem stiff or uncomfortable in any way. Not for her, no. For her, it was natural. Years of sitting and standing up straight almost constantly made her naturally hold herself that way. The way the girl moved was also notable. With her movements, any time she took a step or reached for something, a certain grace, fluidity, and purpose was shown.
Another reason that she seemed different was the air that followed her, surrounded her. Her presence, her aura, the way she held herself in general… it was an interesting thing. She exuded sharp intelligence, sophistication, subtle confidence, and other, stronger things. These included passion, power, ambition, and determination. The fire that blazed in her eyes because of these things was masked with cool calculation. The girl was constantly analyzing, calculating, and observing, and it had helped her in so many cases. Because of this, she could also fill a little of her desire for knowledge; she knew a lot about people, even random strangers, just from looking at them or seeing them once. An appearance could speak volumes about a person – their body language, how they held themselves, how they treated others, their facial expressions, the way they moved, their actions, what they wore and how well it fit, the cleanliness of their body and clothes, and how well put-together they looked as a whole were all important factors in making these observations.
Alright, so who was this girl that stood against a tree, watching people? Her name was Ruby Cazares, and she was a pureblood first-year Slytherin. Right now, this Slytherin was wondering what to do. She could continue to stand here and learn more about people. However, she might run out of things to observe after a while, although that was doubtful. She could go draw – bring her sketchbook out here and continue some pieces she was working on. She had already done that today, and she might do it later in the common room when things were quieter and more settled. She could read… again. There were so many more activities she could do, including and besides the ones that she normally did. She also liked talking to people sometimes – maybe she could do that. If she did that, she could learn more about someone apart from what their appearance told her, and she could possibly make a new friend. That would be nice. Truly, Ruby needed more real friends. Okay, she'd try it then. First, she had to find a person that seemed available and willing. The Slytherin's gaze wandered around the people that were outside and near her, searching for someone that she could talk to…

Outside was not unfamiliar to this Hufflepuff, one enjoyed spending time around the Hogwarts grounds, lungs feeding with fresh air as nostrils felt a dash of coolness in this colder time of the year. She wore a dark hoodie, paired with black jeans as the yellow-streaked robe covered the comfortable outfit, slim neck was hugged by a yellow scarf which was commonly seen on any Hufflepuff outside the school building. She rarely wore such bright colours, her house's colours made one feel rather unusual when wearing yellow-tinted clothing, but it was fine really. It was just a darn scarf, a soft comfortable scarf.
Making her way around the area, pale hands held a black notebook for drawing purposes. The other was safely tucked in robe's pocket, so at least five of the ten slim fingers would catch some warmth. A gentle breeze caressed silky locks with tenderness, black beanie held them somewhat in place, preventing them from escaping too far away with the wind. Numerous people were surprised by one's hair colour, many shades of grey, some rare strands dared to contrast with their white tint, the girl was described as beautiful by many, her unique appearance certainly added a bonus in eyes of admirers.
This girl cared not for such things though, the tomboy was used to male company anyways but one's young heart hasn't ignited for that special someone yet, mostly serious-looking expression walked around the grounds somewhat alone.
Baby blue caught a glimpse of a stranger girl scanning her surrounding with a rather unusual aura. Robe was decorated with green streaks, a snake crest engraved on the dark material; Slytherin.
Ophelia wasn't sure why one caught her attention so fiercely but she decided to let it go, trying to find a comfortable area to sit on.
