Sunday, Early Afternoon

It was the weekend, just after lunch. Well, at least for Marian. she was one of the last ones still in the Great Hall. It was already 1:28, and lunch was almost over.

"Oh, what to do, what to do. Homework? Nah. Go outside? It's too cold, no one will be there. Ooh, I know what to do!"

Marian strolled down the corridors, until she got to a staircase. She climbed up and up multiple staircases, all the way to the fifth floor. There she walked to the portrait hole.

"Password?" the fat lady asked.

"Oh, shoot. A password. Right."
"Uhh, I'm not a Gryffindor, so I don't know the password. I'd like to see my friend, Avery Edemala," Marian answered.

"No password, no entry," the fat lady replied.

"Yeah, didn't think so."

Marian sat on the cold stone floor next to the portrait hole, and pulled out her sketchbook from her bag. She also pulled out a special erasable quill, and started drawing a random person.

The drawing had curly orange hair, and was wearing beautiful robes. They were light blue, and they flowed beautifully. She drew multiple of this beautiful girl, discovering some things about anatomy.

The posting order will be: Me, Erin, Avery. And Erin, if you could come out of the portrait hole before Avery, then decide to follow us.

The drawing of the girl comes from here.

The crackling of the flames drew out loud and fevered breathing from the small girl, currently sitting alone in the Common Room. Her hands were wrapped around her knees, as to keep her sitting in a position similar to the way a millipede would curl into itself when scared, as she curled into herself, seemingly trying to converse any sense of warmth. She did not move closer to the flickering flames, but the amber eyes of the small child didn’t move away from the crackling inferno.

Fire was cleansing, but dangerous. In the dancing flames, the girl could almost see visions of the past, weaving themselves throughout the orange and red illusionary flames. She could almost see herself falling to the ground, face and arms burnt to a crisp, while Dorian Gray watched in horror and a masked figure swore revenge.

But the deadly masked figure was just a boy, and the scars from the flame were nearly all gone. She was fine. Wasn’t she? Even though every bone in her body screamed out in everlasting pain, warning her to stay away from the fire, Eris took a step closer to the warmth, untangling her arms from around her limbs in a graceless motion that would have been amusing, if not for the panicked expression on her pale face as her almond shaped eyes narrowed marginally, and her expression deepened into a small frown.

Her face was eerily pale, illuminated by the crackling fire, as she took a step forward and stopped. She could do this, couldn’t she? There was nothing to fear from the fire. In her mind, she could hear the screaming of her father, claiming that he didn’t know who she was. That he didn’t want her. His words pushed her another step forward, as the small girl’s lips curved into a sneer. She wouldn’t let her fear rule her. She had to be strong and make people proud, like her father.

She heard a voice from outside the Common Room, and turned, eyes unable to mask the hope she felt. Visions of family fading away from her eyelids, strands of red hair falling into her shoulders. She made no effort to clear the hair away from her neck and shoulders, abandoning the fire completely.

Maybe Dorian had returned, or Rhea had finally decided to rejoin society. Maybe Max was just coming back from vigorously punching someone, ready to laugh with Eris about the audacity of some people. It would be nice if that were true. It would be nice to be able to direct her anger towards someone, anyone, else. Her friends had vanished into thin air, seemingly avoiding Eris. She would have avoided herself too, but there was nobody left to push away the sadness and anger.

She ventured over to the door, letting out a loudly barked curse, as her foot slammed into the side of a couch. Looking at the red couch with a seemingly betrayed expression, the young Gryffindor swung the hole open with a little wince, stopping to look down at her foot.

Deciding her foot would be fine, Eris looked up and frowned. There was a hufflepuff, clearly just sitting by the door. She wasn’t a hufflepuff that Eris knew. She was not Serena or Rosie, and there was no way that Reid had suddenly turned into a girl! Unless..no! There shouldn’t be an unless. He wouldn’t do that...although, it would be a fun adventure, seeing Reid as a girl.

Blinking out of her far fetched thoughts, Eris watched the girl draw someone else with curly red hair, eerily similar to her own. Resisting the urge to change her hair color and length, Eris frowned and wondered how to handle the situation. Max or Dorian would beat up the girl, and Rhea would be nice. Right?

What would Eris do? She cocked her head to the side, trying to think. But, Eris Fawley was never one for thinking. Thinking took up time and energy, when she much rather act.

“Oi!” Her voice was a bit too loud, so Eris blinked once and readjusted he voice, until she wasn’t screaming. “You know, this is the Gryffindor common room. If you want to draw, there’s a perfectly good Library, Hufflepuff Common Room, Study hall, or wherever else in the bloody hell you want to draw.”

Sunday, Early Afternoon

"Oi!"

A girl had climbed out of the portrait hole, and stared at what Marian was drawing. Then the redhead started listing possible places for Marian to draw instead of outside the common room.

"Erm, well, I'm actually just waiting for someone," Marian replied, standing up.

Marian was not going on the offense, mostly just defending herself from this explicit girl. She was explicit in two ways: she swore, and she made it clear that she did not like strangers lurking outside the common room.

"Her name's Avery Edemala. Maybe you know her? Well, I wanted to show her something."

Realizing that it was somewhat rude to tell this girl about where her and her friend were doing, but not to invite the girl, she added,

"I mean, you can come too, if you want. I wouldn't mind."

Hopefully the girl would not come, but decline. Marian did not want to be in the company of such a Gryffindor. To be fair, Marian had wanted to be a Gryffindor, but not this type.

Although, if the girl did come, Marian could just not tell her where they were going. She might deserve what happens to her. No, Marian, don't think that way. That option would involve not telling Avery where they were going. That wouldn't work.
