SUMMER 2023Roleplaying as Lee Ye-jun from Beauxbatons – Encyclopedia
Violet in English, Red in Korean and Blue in FrenchSo far, Ye-jun’s summer holidays was rather uneventful. He didn’t get to go to the camp because his parents wanted him to attend the summer school so he was mostly stuck studying, helping his father at work or doing various sports. The summer school was a bit of a torture but he couldn’t really deny his parents. They already gave him so much, it was only fair to give something in return. Besides, the actual learning was fine…it was just that some of his classmates were a pain in the ass. It was always like that but this year it has definitely gotten worse.
“Ye-jun ah, help me clean the house a bit today. Your uncle is coming to stay with us and I will be working overtime.” Ye-jun's mother called to him while getting ready for work. The boy raised his eyebrows, breakfast momentarily forgotten. “Is Eun-ji coming too then?” It’s been some time since he had seen his cousin and it would do her good to escape her personal hell in Chester whenever she could. “Oh no, he is not coming for vacation. Apparently, there is some kind of exchange program for surgeons. He will be staying with us for a while. You don’t mind do you?” Of course Ye-jun didn’t mind. He liked his uncle but the information still made him frown. From what he had seen when he visited Eun-ji last summer, his uncle was her biggest support at home. What would she do if he left her there to fend for herself?
He had been quiet for too long, making his mother finally come to the kitchen and actually take a look at her son. “Is it a problem?” She asked again. Ye-jun immediately shook his head. “No! No, of course not. I was just thinking, Eun-ji will probably miss him a lot.” Hearing this, his mother sighed in understanding. “I think so too but that’s not for us to solve. As I understand it, the situation in Chester is rather complicated but Eun-ji agreed with the arrangement so that’s that.” She shrugged. There was nothing left to say. “Well…I’m going now. Make sure to welcome your uncle and help him settle in.” The wizard nodded, still somewhat lost in thought.
The surgeon arrived around eight in the evening. “Samchon uncle in Korean...welcome! Come on in.” Ye-jun greeted the man with a smile. There were no hugs as the man entered the house. Instead, he got the usual pat on the shoulder. Except for his mother, none of the Lees were huggers...then again, she was not even a Lee originally. Her parents were a bit more lenient with her upbringing. “Hello, Ye-jun ah. Your parents are still at work?” The man asked, though clearly not surprised. After all, he was a workaholic himself so he probably didn't find it strange. “Yes but they should be home any minute. Are you hungry?” Edward nodded and followed him into their kitchen. There would be time to unpack later.
Ye-jun heated up her mother’s dishes and sat down to eat as well. He just came back from school so he hadn’t eaten anything either. “How are you doing? I heard you still have to go to school over the summer holidays? Is it very tiring?” The young wizard shook his head. “It’s not that bad. The learning materials are not overly difficult. It’s just that some kids there tend to be really annoying.” As expected, the conversation stayed within the safe topics. Still, there was a dark cloud hanging over their heads. The older man could probably hold on until the very end but Ye-jun didn’t posses the same patience. He just had to ask. “What’s going to happen to Eun-ji now that you are here? Is she going to be okay? Mom said she agreed with this. I honestly find it hard to believe.” Edward didn’t stop eating and simply hummed in reply. For a moment, the Beauxbatons student worried he would not answer his questions at all. Luckily that was not the case.
“I wasn’t planning on going at first but I messed up and said something I shouldn’t have to her grandmother. Eun-ji was scared to let me stay after that so she asked me to leave.” He shook his head then, looking resigned and disappointed with himself. “I didn’t want to go but if I stayed, it would only make things harder on her. She is smart and she won’t spend much time at home this summer so she should be okay.” He didn’t sound very convinced but Ye-jun didn’t want to call him out. This must have been really hard for his uncle so he decided to be understanding. “Yeah…I guess you are right. She can take care of herself.” It’s not like there was much they could do for the girl anyway. She’ll be fine.

Ghosts of the past -
Roleplaying as Lee Ye-jun from Beauxbatons – Encyclopedia
Violet in English, Red in Korean and Blue in FrenchYe-jun was born in England and was currently living in France but his family was Korean through and through and there were certain things that would always be affected by that. One of those things of course, was his education. Ye-jun was doing fairly well at Baubaxtons but his parents were muggles and they wanted him to have their kind of education as well. This meant he was attending summer school every year, deepening his general comprehension as well as business skills. It was not ideal and meant o lot of additional pressure but the boy didn’t want to disappoint them. They really meant well.
To be fair, Ye-jun didn’t mind gaining more knowledge but his classmates were another matter entirely. While most of them kept to themselves, there were those that enjoyed putting others down to make themselves feel better. For some reason they also seemed to think Ye-jun was the best target for this. He had excellent grades and while he acted a bit cold, he appeared mostly mild-tempered. They probably thought the only thing he could do was study. Not to mention the girls gravitated towards him due to his good looks, which no doubt hurt their pride.
“You know nobody here likes you, right?” Ye-jun sighed. He tried to look unbothered but this constant pestering only reminded him of his miserable childhood. He knew everything was different now and he could fight this dumbass any day but he didn’t want to cause trouble for himself or his parents. “So? Why should I care? I only come here to study.” He answered calmly without looking up from his book. Besides, it was clearly a lie. Others honestly couldn't care less about their classmates here. They came here for a few weeks every summer. Most of them didn't bother making friends so why would they dislike him? Seeing him so unaffected, the boy in front of him grew even more annoyed. He threw a pencil at Ye-jun's face but the wizard didn't react. It didn't hurt. This brat was just trying to provoke him. “Stop it. I'm asking you nicely.” Miraculously he somehow indeed managed to sound polite however, his classmate still failed to take the hint. “Say please, Robert.” Ah...so his name is Robert then. Ye-jun never bothered to find out until now. “Please Robert.” The wizard repeated calmly, finally looking up. At last, his tormentor understood he wouldn’t be able to rile him up and walked away with a vicious sneer.
The Beauxbatons’ student hoped Robert would give up after that but the exact opposite happened. The boy and his buddies continued to taunt him at every opportunity, making it difficult to focus on his studies. They already did so during the previous years but they weren’t this persistent. He supposed they grew bolder with age. At this point, Ye-jun was starting to feel weary but every time he simply asked them to stop and waited patiently until they got bored. It was nearly the end of his summer studies when things finally came to a head….
It was the day where their skills would be tested and Ye-jun was already feeling stressed when Robert approached his desk and started mocking him. When his words went completely ignored, he picked up the heavy textbook Ye-jun was reading and started poking his head with it. “I’m warning you…leave me alone.” He hissed through gritted teeth. For the first time, he actually talked back, catching the group of guard. One of the particularly egoistic boys turned red slamming his fist on the table and (perhaps accidentally) managed to hit Ye-jun’s hand. He was holding a pen in it, tearing the skin rather badly. If this happened at Beauxbatons, he could easily heal the wound but young wizards and witches weren’t allowed to use magic outside of school. Eun-ji was lucky to have a mother, who was a healer so she was always taken care of even during summer but Ye-jun had no such luxury. The bones were not broken but he would most likely have to give up on some of his favourite sport activities for the rest of the holidays. That was his biggest passion and stress relief. How dare they?! The attacker looked a bit surprised for a second before turning cocky again. “You better watch your mouth.” He was saved by the bell.
The next class was torture. The group actually took away his textbook so he got scolded by their teacher and answering questions during the test turned to be a real challenge since his injured hand was also his dominant hand. In the end, he failed to answer all of the questions in time. When the break rolled in Ye-jun really struggled to keep his calm. He looked at the pen, the bully left on his desk, tip still stained red as if silently mocking him. “How was the test little cripple?” Robert called out to him, sounding extremely pleased with himself while his buddies laughed. And that was the final nail in the coffin.
Ye-jun stabbed his desk with the cursed pen angrily, startling everybody in the classroom. They were used to him being quiet and unbothered so this was extremely uncharacteristic reaction. Slowly getting up, Ye-jun turned around and walked towards the back rows where the group of his personal tormentors resided. On the way, he picked up his stolen textbook without as much as sparing it a glance. He was too far too gone now. The boys were initially grinning, probably pleased that they finally managed to break him, but as he got closer, they all froze. The look in his eyes must have not been right at that moment. They were obviously scared but it was far too late.
With one hand, the wizard hit Robert’s head with the textbook sending him stumbling backwards then immediately turned around and smashed the hand of the boy sitting in front of him. It was the very same one that injured his own hand an hour ago. This however, was definitely not an accident and Ye-jun didn’t bother controlling his strength. He wouldn’t be surprised if there was a broken bone but he didn’t linger for much longer. There was no need. This boy was going to be occupied with his hand for quite a while after that. And so, turning back to the leader once more, he made sure to throw a few more punches to teach him a lesson.
Things were a bit hazy then but once Robert fell to the floor, nose bloody and possibly broken, Ye-jun finally managed t stop himself. “I asked you nicely…” he growled. “I asked you to stop.” Of course, he would come to regret this when he calmed down but for now, he was still too angry to care. Swiftly, he gathered his stuff and left the classrom, knowing he wouldn’t be allowed back there ever again. People in the corridor were staring at him and he realised there was a bit of blood staining his cheek. He wiped it casually as he continued walking toward the exit. He knew this incident would haunt him though. The teachers would no doubt soon call his parents and there would be consequences. He wondered if anyone would consider what he had to withstand before it came to this or if the blame would be put entirely on him. Desperate for an ally and a voice of reason, the wizard immediately dialled his cousin’s number…
