Ivy Logan, First Year, Slytherin

Ivy’s story begins in Tobermory, Scottland where she was born to two pureblooded parents, Josie and Michael Logan. Growing up she had two relentless older siblings who would bully her with no end in sight. Her confidence quickly dwindled to the point she retreated from social interactions struggling in school and losing her friends. At around the age of 7 Ivy all together refused to leave her room for the fear she would bother other people with those thinking she was ugly or annoying or a nuisance. Her parents became rightfully concerned and tried to rectify the situation with her siblings though it was not enough, and the bullying continued. At some point they had decided it would be best for Ivy to stay with her maternal aunt and muggle uncle, Lilly and Markus Addams. Though only during the times that her siblings were home. Ivy for the most part stayed isolated and did not engage in many social interactions while at the Addams’. One christmas was given a sketchbook and drawing supplies from the Addams which she would often stay in her room Sketching, or drawing. Often she would sketch the things she saw around the house or on the streets. After a while she became really good at art and even though she wasn't Van Gogh she had skill for a child. She didn't have many outlets but art, reading, and gardening were some of her favorites.

Shortly after arriving at the Addams house for the first time, Ivy woke up one night with a nightmare at her Aunt's house. As Ivy woke up, she found that her closet door was ajar. As the young girls head played tricks on her mind and her imagination took over, Ivy's eyes widened, she screamed, pulled her blanket over her head. The moment the girl flopped back into her bed, the door slammed shut. Scarring herself even more, causing her first true showing of magic.

Ivy Logan’s life drastically changed when she was 10 years old. Having spent many years with her Aunt and Uncle Addams during school breaks she was used to the back-and-forth between the two homes. However, it was during one of her stays at home for the school year that her world was irrevocably changed.

One evening, Ivy, nestled into her book, was startled by a loud bang outside. Her parents having sensed the danger that was lurking, told her to stay inside as the headed out to investigate. Unbeknownst to Ivy, a werewolf, having missed its wolfsbane potion, was on a rampage nearby.

Another bang resounded nearby, as Ivy’s neighbor and Parents attempted desperately to defend against this unforeseen threat. Ivy, engulfed in fear and unable to bear the thought of being alone in the house, ventured into the forest, hoping to find her parents. In a cruel twist of fate, she unknowingly crossed paths with the frenzied creature. The werewolf attacked leaving Ivy seriously injured before her parents and the neighbor could intervene.

The neighbor and her parents had heard of a werewolf being spotted loose the past few months so as a precaution they stocked up on dittany and silver powder incase the worst came to pass. When arriving to the scene they sent off multiple large bangs and flashes of light around the werewolf to quickly and efficiently disarm it for long enough to get Ivy out.

The aftermath of the attack was devastating. As the reality of her impending transformation settled in, Ivy's parents, wracked with worry for her safety and mental well-being, decided to send her away to live permanently in the muggle world with the Addams. This decision, though painful, was deemed necessary to shield Ivy from the harsh judgment of the magical community and the traumatic memories associated with the forest.

As her parents explained what she was to become, Ivy felt a deep knot growing and twisting inside her stomach, and an overwhelming sense of dread. The thought of turning into the monster that attacked her filled Ivy with horror. She yearned for normalcy, safety, and to remain herself, not the monster she was about to become.

Arriving at the Addams’ home, Ivy was completely engulfed in misery. Despite her aunt and uncle's best efforts to comfort her as her new guardians and teach her to accept her new identity while holding onto her humanity, Ivy found herself unable to accept their kindness or reassurances. She was consumed by her feelings of self-loathing and haunted by memories of the attack.

Night after night, Ivy cried herself to sleep, the events of that fateful evening replaying in her mind. Each day was a struggle, a reminder of the curse that now marked her existence. The transformation became a monthly occurrence exacerbating her inner turmoil. She grappled with a profound fear of her werewolf form and the monster she believed lurked within her.

The longing for her old life, a life now forever out of reach, weighed heavily on her. Ivy’s journey was no longer one of navigating the challenges of being an adolescent but that of confronting and coming to terms with her new reality.

Amidst this internal conflict, Ivy's perception of herself deteriorated. She saw herself as a danger to those around her, a ticking time bomb that could go off at any full moon. Her self-hatred deepened with every transformation, reinforcing her belief that she was indeed the monster she dreaded.

In this new world, far removed from the magical community and the forest that had once been her playground, Ivy faced a starkly different existence. One where she was constantly reminded of her curse, where every passing night was a reminder of the life she had lost and the unwanted new one she had to endure. Her journey, marked by fear, self-loathing, and a deep sense of loss, was a testament to the enduring impact of a single, life-altering event.
