Henry'd move further into the room, raising an eyebrow at the snarky girl before looking to the one who spoke next. He was positive he'd seen her before, whether it was in a club or the corridors. Henry had met so many people that the faces had started blurring together by now.

"I don't mind what we do, I'm just restless today so would like to try and tire myself out before I sit down and study some more. It's harder to try and memorise the specific inchantations when you keep knocking your jiggling leg on the table. Practically got kicked out of the common room for distracting people." He'd chuckle as he told the story, pulling a bobble off his wrist. Sitting on one of the chairs nearby, Henry'd raise his hands to his fringe, which was growing quite long recently, to start to plait it the best he could. He wasn't the best at plaits, never mind doing it in his own hair. His younger brother had grown out his hair to past his shoulders and relieved Henry from the duties of being the Barbie doll for the younger girls in terms of doing hair.
He managed to do a hazardous plait that put his fringe into his hair so that it wouldn't hang in front of his eyes.

Talia was absolutely overwhelmed.

As she tried to think about how to exit the room in a socially acceptable manner, she slowly backed away into the shadows.

"Uh... He-" she started nervously, her voice trembling. As if the next events were happening in slow motion, she felt her foot catch on the cloth of the banquet table drapes, slowly slipping. She knew what was happening, but couldn't do anything about it. As she fell to the ground, she let out a high pitched squeak.

Sitting up a few seconds later, she rubbed her head gingerly, wincing and laughing awkwardly.

"Uh, hi. I'm Talia?" she mumbled as she scrambled to get to her feet and approached the group, feeling a surge of confidence for no reason at all. Surprising that she only felt social after falling down embarrassingly.

Talia stopped to quickly dust some sparkles off of her pastel rainbow jumper.

"So, uh, heh, uh..." She tried to say something, anything at all, but nothing came out of her mouth. Instead she settled with staring sheepishly at her sneakers, trying to hide the embarrassed redness of her cheeks.

Talia was definitely one to be awkward in any situation. Leave it to her to spice up anyone's day with social anxiety. Overspice it, really.

Talia fidgeted with her hands, still hoping she would somehow be saved from the humiliating situation.

Suddenly, Tina remembered that she had promised to help another first year study and looking at the time, she knew she had to leave. While she had a great time dancing and meeting new people, she also felt it was getting a little crowded even though there were only 4 other people. She began stuffing her things in a bag, while trying to recall the name of the topic she was going teach. DADA? Charms? Jinxes? she groaned as she turned to face the boy. "Sorry, but I have to go. I hope you have a fun time dancing and make some friends."

Grabbing her stuff, she sprinted out the door and ran to her dorm to change. Reflecting on the event, she couldn't help but to smile. Although she made plenty of mistakes, she was getting better dancing and incorporating emotions into her performance. She still wished her parents could be with her here since they always knew how to make things more fun. She knew that they would be very busy at their new jobs, and felt as though they loved it more than her. Putting on a forced smile, she continued to rush to her destination.

The music swirled through her head blocking almost all words and sounds. She had begun to drift off and her eyes now had a glassy look to them. Out of the corner of her eye she saw two students, Tina and some boy, talking together by the tables and chairs. When had the boy come in?

Hold on.

THAT IS A BOY. A REAL POSSIBLE DANCE PARTNER.

She suddenly got flustered, and tried to fix her hair slightly in the mirror as she danced. Taking care to dance father away from the two, she kept sneaking glances. It had been ages since she had danced with boys and her last dance partner had abruptly quit due to the anti masculine type of moves. Elia hoped the boy would dance with her.

Elia saw that the girl was leaving.

"Goodbye!" She called as the girl exited the hall. Turning to the boy who had arrived, she walked over and stuck out her hand.

"I don't believe we've been introduced. My name is Elia. Elia Wilfor." She said. "Would you care to dance with me?" She asked with a small hiccup. If he would, great. If he wouldn't, then she had just embarrassed herself.

As Henry waved goodbye to Tina as she left, smiling after her, he’d startle slightly at the sudden presence in front of him.

Holding his hand out slowly, he’d shake hers as she introduced herself.

“Henry Reed..and of course. Any preference?”

Henry felt slightly overwhelmed by the presence of the female for she seemed quite excited and he couldn’t not notice her previously eyeing him. He was flattered that she’d asked him to dance for the other female had left and he wasn’t really coming up with any good conversation starters to talk to the other girls. Luckily, this one had done it for him.

He wasn’t fully nervous because he knew that he wasn’t terrible (he surely wouldn’t have been allowed in the ballet club if he was) but he couldn’t help but feel apprehensive towards her. Sure, he wasn’t the most social type, and she seemed outgoing..but in a nice way. Confusing, really.

Since his stuff was already put down, he’d move towards the middle of the ballroom, bouncing on his feet to warm up slightly. He’d stretched so now it was just about getting his body ready to go- there’d been one too many a time when he’d pushed himself too much and pulled a muscle. His experiences have gave him enough insight into the benefits of stretching your muscles and preparing yourself before you start to do any form of exercise. An eyebrow raise occurred as he waited for the females preference on dance type

She’d been looking for some fun. Not an embarrassment. As the girl opened the door to the Ballroom, she saw a few people talking about the word “dance” and likely about to do the action that the word portrayed. While the girl, Koko, could do with multiple dancing lessons, she really didn’t want to embarrass herself in front of people who would be absolute strangers. ”Hello... mind if I join you?” she said. She knew it sounded shy, but at the moment she really didn’t care. She was very timid when it came to her terrible dancing. In fact, she’d joined the Dance Club mostly so that she could get better!

Without waiting for a reply, Koko stepped quietly forward into the room. It had great acoustics; she could hear the tap of her shoes resonating around the room. She’d heard a few of their conversations echoing down the hall, thanks to the amazing sound properties of this room. Even though she couldn’t dance too well due to lack of balance, she wanted to join and learn more. She could dance a few dances all right, as long as they didn’t require too much balance...

Koko looked up at the elegant ceiling, waiting. She did hope someone might reply to her small wish, and perhaps grant it, but she wasn’t sure. However, even if they didn’t respond positively, she could still try to learn more somehow.

Elia was ecstatic (and heavily relived) that Henry agreed to dance with her. In the past, she had never been able to truly experience a duet with someone.  Most of the boys at her dance school where mean and horrible. Especially one kid. He was the worst she had ever danced with, never took it seriously. She would be tossed and thrown around as they just tried to get through the lesson.

She saw Henry walk out into the middle of the floor. Elia followed him and began to search for a dance type to try.

"Well. I don't know what type of dance you know, and I don't want to overwhelm you. So I guess a waltz?" She asked slowly. Elia reached out slowly to grab his hands. She didn't want to be to rushed or eager and gently placed her hands in his. Her face suddenly felt very hot and she prayed that she wouldn't start stuttering. She spoke softly as she did this.

"I'm sorry for seeming so eager. I just haven't had a good dance partner and I'm hoping you'll be different." She said, as the music began to play a upbeat waltz song.
