General The Slytherin Table 2018-2019

After the Sorting Hat had appointed him in Slitherin, Zeeke headed towards the respective House table, where he was trying to find a free spot where he could sit, while at the same time his eyes were darting back and forth frequently looking at ones who were already assigned before him, as well as the rest of his house members who were already seated. Upon reaching the desired place, he sat down, observed the ceremony unfold and waited patiently, until the food just poof-ed suddenly out of thin air. The table was decorated lovely and had been filled with a huge variety of all kinds of stuff, oddly enough around the lad were placed each of his most favourite meal. Zeeke's eyes widen upon the sight of what had just happened, it took him by surprise and at that very moment he knew that, that was something which he would have to get accustomed to.

"I could eat a revered mother"1 - shouted the boy out loudly in excitement and joy without realizing that he wasn't home no longer, just as he began to dig in. He was starving to death, 'twas a very long day after all and Zeeke was knackered2. The food was "mighty fierce" as what he'd usually say for something so delicious, the flavours and textures were exactly like the ones prepared by his mom back at their Gaff3.

After the Sorting Hat told me her that belonged with Slytherin, she wiped her eyes with the sleeve of her long black robe and headed to the table. Sitting down, Belka glared at the empty platter in front of her. I belonged in Gryffindor. She thought. How will I make my father proud now? She let out a sigh as she reached her hand into her deep pocket, feeling the long wand hidden inside her silky robe. She ran her thumb rubbed back and forth against the smooth stick as her mind thought about magic. Even being Wizard-Born, she was awestruck about the thought of being able to emit magic from within her. It was the silver-lining to her grey storm. Belka summoned a salad on her plate and dug in. I guess I have to make the most with what I have.. Her fork scraped against the plate as she ate a piece of lettuce. Her eyes lingered among the rest of the First-Years. She wondered who will become her friend. Who'll be her enemy? Will she even have an enemy? She didn't know. Belka watched the rest of the ceremony in silence, not knowing how to start a conversation with one of her peers.

After her turn with the sorting hat, with it ending telling her that she was to go to Slytherin. She finally took a seat next to Belka, she believes that’s what the girl’s name was if her memory was correct. She saw that the girl seemed to be sad about the choice she got, though it could have just been her overthinking the girl”s expression at that exact moment. She decided to not say anything about it, if she had anything to say that would truly help she would’ve said something, but she was happy with her choice of house she was given. She filled the plate up with some salads and fruits, sad to see there was none of her favorite food’s from what she could see.

She gave a small sigh seeing her plate, she wasn’t one for large amounts of meat to eat so she continued to look for fruits and salads. After filling her plate with the food she decided to start eating. She gave a few curious glances towards Belka and was filled with the want to at least make sure the girl wasn’t sad about being a Slytherin. Though a thought lingered on her mind, how was she to start a conversation with a practical stranger, she ate another bite while thinking about it. She finally decided to go for it. She turned slightly in her seat facing the girl and giving a smile, “Hey, I’m Dunhee. I don’t have anyone to talk to and was wondering if we could talk to each other for the rest of the night at least?” She had asked. Was she to forward? Would the girl ignore her? “Maybe become friends too?” she added. She sighed inwardly at her own words, it was too late though, she had already spoke, with that in mind she continued to smile at the girl, waiting for a reply.

Luigi headed to the Slytherin table, the Sorting hat's words still ringing in his ears. They would care because his parents were not magical. He approached the table with trepidation, eyeing each of the student for danger. He could take them without magic. However, the older students probably knew how to cast more spells than he had heard off. Slowly, he sat at an empty spot in the middle of the table. He was still with his back straight, glaring across the table, daring anyone to pick a fight with him.

No one seemed to bother him for the moment. Slowly he turned his gaze to the table and looked at the spread of food across the table. It was beyond belief. Rich as he was, the food he was use to having was nothing compared to this spread. He reached for the thing nearest to him, (a chicken drumstick) and ate with all the manners he had learned back home. There was cuisine not only from Europe but from all over the world as well. He had only heard of some of this. But seeing the multitude of dishes in front of him. He could really get used to this.

All she really wanted was a nice plate of brownies.

Chocolate was Koko’s comfort food. Especially brownies. Their lucious richness combining a texture like cake and a taste of chocolate was just what she needed to feel at home. Sadly, the only dessert that Koko would really want from the table was a few chocolate chip cookies. Not that they were bad or anything... but she really just wanted brownies.

While Koko had never been much of a foodie and had a thin frame, she had an overpowering sweet tooth. Taking a small bite of a cookie (which she had already piled multiple of on her platter), she gazed up at the sorting hat as it rattled off names and houses. It had started to get a tad boring to her, but all she could really do was sit and watch. Her fellow Slytherins really weren’t too socialable, were they?

She chuckled to herself and took another bite, savoring the little morsels of chocolate that came along with it. Koko wanted to introduce herself; she wanted attention, at least this time, but all the same she wasn’t sure how to gain it. Neither did she want to do that nor to be rude by interrupting the hat—was that even possible? To interrupt a hat? Victor would be surprised if she could do that...

”Hello,” Koko said loudly, her voice projecting over the area of the table that she sat at. Her voice sounded higher pitched than usual, and she could feel her pale cheeks reddening with the fact that her voice sounded odd. Her lashes fluttered as she glanced up at the ceiling, as she did when she was nervous. The spell on the ceiling, the one to make the stars appear, now that was artwork! ”My name is Koko Riddle. Um... I’m pureblooded, and, well, I like chocolate. How about any of you?” Koko said finally, lowering her voice a bit so that it didn’t seem to hop onto the F line of the treble clef.

After going to the table, Luna started eating. She wasn't too hungry, however, she still needed to eat to have more energy after going a long way to Hogwarts. The food in Hogwarts made she impressed, it was sure better than she thought it would be.

Suddenly, the girl who was sitting next to her started to introduce herself with a loud, a bit loud voice. It seemed like she wanted to introduce herself to all the Slytherins. That was brave, even when Luna wanted to make some friends, she didn't have enough courage to introduce herself like Koko just did.

She put down the knife and fork and turned to Koko and started talking, but not too loud. The girl must be embarrassed after saying those things, and Luna wanted to help her since she just wanted to make friends"Hello there, I am Luna Choi. Maybe you know, I am Pure-Blood too. Chocolate is a nice choice, and I can understand the reason why you said you liked it."

To be honest, she liked drinking hot chocolate, but she didn't usually eat chocolate. However, she thought chocolate was as good as hot chocolate, so of course, she could understand. Luna looked at Koko's plate and was a bit impressed. She wondered if Koko wasn't hungry since most of the thing she ate was cookies.

Just because I said you were bad does not mean that I am mean. It shows that I am honest.

Cassiopeia walked over to the table, and sat down. She wondered if the pureblood prejudice was still as high as her older brother, fifth year Marcus, claimed it was. He said that purebloods weren't liked by most of the wizarding population. Even some purebloods, he said, had abandoned other purebloods in favor of halfbloods and muggleborns. Cassiopeia didn't hold the prejudice that muggleborns shouldn't be allowed to Hogwarts, but she didn't understand why some people thought it was better to be a muggleborn than a pureblood. She wrenched herself from her thoughts in order to study her tablemates. A couple fifth or sixth years sat near her, probably a couple from the way they were interacting, and several other first years were talking vivaciously. Cassiopeia was pretty shy, and so she didn't want to say Hi quite yet. One girl looked like she might be able to be Cassiopeia's friend. She also had glasses, and had a bookworm sort of look around her. Cassiopeia really hoped she'd be able to make friends. Marcus had said she'd frighten them all away, quoting books like she did. Well, time to take a chance, she told herself. She turned to the other first years, and said, "Hi!"

After he had been sorted and gone to the Slytherin table, he looked around at all the new students sitting with one another. They were clearly too nervous to step out of their bubble, and overstep their station. Livius on the other hand was a bit more brazen than all that. He wanted to get the lay of the land as soon as was possible, and what better way than to find a few older kids and ingratiate himself? As he stared across the table, he found an open spot among about five students that were a few years older than himself. To say that they were confused would be putting it lightly. It wasn't often that a kid fresh from the train just popped down and acted like he was already one of them.

"Hello. Livius is my name. Livius Grimstone." When none of the older kids answered him, he paused for only a brief moment and nodded idly to himself. "Alright, no worries yeah? Anyhow, I thought it would be good to introduce myself early so you could get a feel for me and all. I mean, I'm going to be here for the next seven years or so aren't I? Why not just skip the preliminaries and get right to the meat of it all, yeah?"

Newly Sorted and still turning the hat's decision over in her brain, Violet regarded the long table full of students clad in black. Some of them sported freshly pressed emerald and silver ties, marking their place in a House that (she was quickly learning) had something of a reputation. Even her mother had warned her that every House had rumors attached to it, that it was all a lot of silly competing that went too far, but it was rather like being told who you were when you didn't even have a sense of it yourself.

There were a number of older students who knew each other, of course, but she knew her best bet at fitting in here would be to identify the people like her - the newbies, goggling at the table bursting with food or smiling shyly at their new schoolmates. A few looked not shy but quiet, as if their thoughts were private as they gathered information. Violet liked that; it made sense. She slipped into an empty spot on one of the benches and quickly picked up the familiar sound of an Irish accent, as a girl and a boy who resembled each other jostled a bit and swore.

She pressed a hand to her mouth, trying to hide a giggle, as she caught Catherine's eye with a tentative smile. "Your brothers? That must be nice. Always wondered what siblings are like." She glanced at the food, belatedly realizing she'd been hungry since the boat trip to the castle, and took a sandwich and a pastie to sample. "I'm Violet. Did all your family get Sorted the same?" Her mother had been a Ravenclaw, not that Violet really knew what that meant besides 'smart'.

When Brynlee heard the Sorting Hat yell out “Slytherin!”, Brynlee was overcome with joy. Both of her siblings were Slytherins, and they are both wonderful Aurors. She tried her hardest to keep in a squeal as she leaped off of the stool and ran to the table under the Green banner. She began to think if it was a coincidence or not that her favourite animal was a snake... She found an empty seat next to some other first years and gave them all a bright smile, wanting to immediately make friends with her house mates of the next 7 years.

“Hi! I’m Brynlee!” She said in a bubbly, happy tone to anyone who was listening. She looked down at her plate and immediately filled it with all of her favourite foods, then turned to the pumpkin juice. Neither of her parents were fans of the drink, so she only had a few sips of it when her siblings were around. She grabbed the cup and took a long drink, sighing and setting the cup down when she had finished. She wiped her mouth of the small orange mustache left by the drink and smiled.

“That’s sooooo much better than I remember it...” She laughed and took another sip, then began eating her food, her mind wandering to all of the amazing adventures she was going to have.
