History/Background Story:
The Cavallo family is one of the bloodlines most densely-populated by Animagi in Europe. They are all registered legally, and it is not uncommon for a Cavallo to enter into a horse-racing competition in their Animagus form of some sort of horse bearing a cousin or brother upon their back. Oliver hasn't gotten the knack of Animagus magic yet, but he's trying.

While Oliver and his immediate family live in Bedford, England, the rest of the family lives in all different places, mostly in Italy, so they travel around places to visit. There isn't much opportunity to keep horses in Bedford, so Oliver hangs out with his grandparent's horses when he gets the opportunity.

Oliver loves training horses, although he isn't very good at it. He wants to compete in Dressage most of all, while his brothers (all three of them) prefer speed over style.

The Cavallo family have never really been known for their skill in magics or their involvement in politics. If anything, they're surprisingly pure blood for what a country bumpkin reputation they've got.

Oliver has three brothers, named Luca, Dante, and Alex. Alex is the youngest, Oliver second, Luca third, and Dante last. Luca and Dante have already graduated from Hogwarts, Dante as a Ravenclaw and Luca as a Gryffindor, while Alex hasn't gone to Hogwarts yet. They're all rough and rowdy with each other as brothers usually are, although Luca particularly likes to make fun of Oliver for Alex getting his Animagus form at the age of eight while Oliver hasn't gotten his yet. It's a bit of a weak spot for Ollie.

Oliver's magic first appeared at the age of six. His grandpapa had read him and his brothers the story of Moses the night before, and when Luca thought it would be funny to put Oliver in a big basket and send it down the river, Oliver responded by summoning up a wave of frogs that swam him back to shore.

Oliver is a gentle soul, who loves animals and nature. Being raised around the earth and the sky, constantly traveling around, it just comes naturally to him. He's rather rubbish with any magic that doesn't involve nature and stuff, though. Plants are also really fascinating to him, after his grandpapa had to treat a horse with a scratched eye with only what he could find in the woods before the horse would come back with them to the stable. (His grandpapa is a squidge, the only one of the family, but he still knows everything there is to know about magical herbs and horses.)

Oliver tries not to think too much of himself, as he's always been taught that pride is the most unruly of faults to tame, and therefore the most dangerous. He loves to look up at the stars and night and see the infinite vastness and majesty of the universe that remind him of how small he is.

The Cavallo family deeply cherish their elders and family ties, and Oliver also carries this trait. Oliver gets attached easily to anyone and everyone, and tries to give respect to all deserving of it. He's thoughtful, but not overly witty or poetic, and though he gives everyone the benefit of the doubt, he knows that most people don't do the right thing most of the time.

Oliver is also dyslexic, although he didn't figure it out until @Katie Williams told him why he was having so much trouble making out the words he was reading.
