Lily smirked as she made it a success throw. Well that was good. All she needed to do now is cheat and win. Well not cheat all the way but whatever. It gets her ahead so..... Lily took a deep breath and looked over at Tristan. She slipped her wand out of her sleeve when he wasn't looking. Taking another deep breath, Lily raised her wand and cast a flipendo spell at a gobstone. After it was cast she got ready to do another throw. She closed her eyes and thought through the differnt throws. She was good at concentrating (sometimes) but this was stressful. Both people were tied which meant that only one of them could pull ahead. Or they could bpth stayed tie and see where that goes. But Lily didn't want that. She wanted to stay in the lead and win. As any sensible person would want. Actually let me rephrase that. Any person who really liked to win. Which was Lily. She opened her eyes and got her concentration back on track. Then she picked her gobstopne up and did a careful throw again. It's worked for her so far so it should work for her again.

Tristan suspected there to be some cheating occurring as the gobstones of certain rounds had indeed disappeared two at a time rather than one. However, he had not caught either of the players red handed and thus could not mete out the punishment for the cheating. Both opponents currently retained four stones on the ring and thus had successfully brought their game to a tie. It has been a very interesting game so far. The two competitors were quite eager to cheat and having already tried once, were confident enough to try again. Both cast Flipendo, but perhaps it was fate or lack of power, neither spell successfully affected any of the stones on the board. Tristan once again however did not catch the act of cheating and only saw the next step of action both of the players enacted. Axyen attempted and succeeded at throwing a catapult throw, knocking out Lily’s stone with a great arc. Lily attempted and succeeded at throwing a careful throw, knocking out Axyen’s stone. Once again, the round had led to a tie. There were exactly three gobstones left for each person in the game. At this point, either could win, with a tip of a scale, where one cheats successfully or perhaps where one gets caught cheating. Tristan of course did not demonstrate his keen desire to see the most catastrophic ending to the game but he did offer a quick gleeful smile, as he wrote down the scores and announced such.

Axyen watched as his spell failed, but he managed to get a successful throw, Axyen would need to cheat just one more time to get ahead, then there would be no more cheating. This had all started ever since the first few rounds, and now the match was finally nearing its end. Axyen thought for a moment, thinking of the wisest move to pull right now. Axyen had to pick carefully, since the match was near its end, his next move needed to be precise, it needed to be perfect, and he couldn't mess up his spell again. Thankfully it seemed that Lily's spell had also failed as she was unable to knock off two of Axyen's gobstones.

Axyen had to think carefully, and he reached into his robes and then stopped. He would try to do this without any cheating, this was supposed to be fun, not into whatever this match has become. With a smile and a new perspective on the Gobstones match, Axyen would pick up his gobstone with confidence, if he didn't make this it would put him at a terrible disadvantage. Axyen aimed his gobstone carefully, looking at the board. Everything seemed to be moving in slow motion, making it more intense for Axyen as he threw the gobstone and waited for the results anxiously. Every single throw would be crucial if it came down to winning this match, maybe with a bit of luck Axyen could win.

Lily frowned as her spell missed but then her gobstone knocked another one off his board. She thought about her next move as Axyen would be the first one again. The careful throw had worked for her really well so she decided to try that again. And absolutely no cheating none at all. When it came to her turn she would pick up a gobstone, concentrate as hard as she could and throw carefully.
Hopefully Axyen will miss and Lily will win. Though now that she thought about she couldn't care less who won. And because she was very competitive that was shocking. Very shocking. But it was true. She couldn't care less. She didn't want to disappoint to her cousin. She wanted to make him proud and happy. And even if she didn't win, she knew Colin McCoire will still be proud of her. She had to remind herself to thank him for getting her involved with it. He's the reason she was competing against Axyen Dragonclaw. It was better than Quidditch, duelling, and broom racing. She was going to apply for Quidditch next year and was actually really, really excited for it. But she had to wait for next year first.

The cheating seemed to have stopped for the moment and neither opponent had attempted anything morally gray of the sort. Tristan was glad to see the fun and spirit of the game return although he often enjoyed the murkish moralities of life. He saw Axyen begin his throw as well as Lily McCoire. They both threw a different move, Axyen with his previously successful Catapult, and Lily with her also previously successful careful throw. Tristan was excited to see who would win this match as both were tied at the moment, three versus three left on the ring. It was a tense, neck to neck game that could go either way. Axyen’s gobstone arched perfectly in the air, hit Lily’s stone and flung it out of the ring. Tristan thought perhaps he would win. However, Lily’s previously successful throw was successful once more, perfectly matching Axyen’s stone and sliding it off the ring. They were once again tied, two stones each on the ring. The game could end in the next one or two rounds depending on if the opponents could cheat and get away with it. However, they would have to weigh the cost of getting caught as whoever did not get caught would win the entire game, not just the round.

Axyen had a successful throw, so did Lily, he had to admit, this was much more fun than just cheating. Now he needed to think, and quickly. He couldn't mess up as the game was slowly coming to an end and Axyen knew that if he acted too slow or started overthinking, it could really make him lose. He did not want to return to the castle smelling bad, so now there was only one thing he could do right now... really focus, he was thinking of what to do. He also wondered what happened if there was a tie? For now, he needed to think of what type of throw he wanted to do, physical strength was never exactly something he was known for, so what if he tried to throw the Gobstone in such a manner that required little to no strength at all? That was what Axyen was going to do, he was once again going to do a catapult throw, it'd focus on his arms to try and create enough movement and not need to be physically strong in the slightest.

Axyen looked at the Gobstones, he narrowed his eyes, focusing mainly on the Gobstones, the only thing in this world was him and the gobstone he was aiming at. He threw his gobstone, and the only thing he could do now was watch where it went. It would be a lie if Axyen said he was not nervous. Now he had to see what Lily would do in this scenario, and of course hope she didn't cheat. Even if she did, he would just have to hope Tristian caught the cheating, which would hopefully make Axyen the winner by default. Either way, he would need to see where this went...

Lily smiled a little to herself when they both made it. To be honest, cheating was only to get her ahead and she would not do anymore. Lily stared at the board trying to figure out what best throw to do next. It was very difficukt trying to pick the right move. She bit her lip a little as she thought of her next move. Then an idea hit her and she skid her wand out, giving Axyen an apologetic look, before moving her wand in the required movement and cast Steleus on him. At the same time, she concentrated and threw her gobstone consciously.
As she watched to see whether or not she made the required throw or not she shifted uncomfortably. It wasn't ideal to cheat but then again she did not want to go back to her dormitory, smelling like...whatever the fluid is that the gobstones spit at the loser. That would be gross, embarrassing, and messy. Sure she was wearing school robes but she would rather not have to give them to the house elves smelling like putrid whatever it is. Plus her house would loose. And that was the last thing Lily wanted was for one of the Gryffindor players to loose.
