It was a perfect autumn day, and Madi had nothing to do. This was very typical during early October, right when it started turning cold she lost all motivation to do anything.
Finally, after lying around for a quarter of the morning, she got up and walked over to the pillow that her ferret, Aura, was lying on.
"Hey, Aur. Want to go on a walk?" Aura bounded up at the words and began running around the bed, and then ran over to the end of the bed, close to where Madi was standing and laid down. Madi giggled and picked up Aura, then grabbed the ball next to the pillow in case she wanted to play. "Okay, let's go." They walked through Hogwarts and then outside to the Grounds.
They began walking around, and then after a little while, Madi found a nice place to sit and leaned against a tree. She rolled the ball a little bit and Aura pounced on it. Madi took it and rolled it again, a little farther this time.
Suddenly, Aura swiveled her head around and took off running. "Hey! Aura!" Madi yelled, getting up and chasing after her. She never realized how curious ferrets were before getting one, even though she'd been warned. She didn't mind much since that was one of the things she loved most about Aura, that she was very adventurous, curious, and playful. But it could be exhausting and annoying, because when she saw something she was interested in, she would run toward it.
She made it to where Aura had ran to. She stopped next to a girl and was clearly trying to play with her. "Hi, sorry about that." Madi said apologetically.

Madi bent down and picked up Aura, who was now jumping on the girl's legs. "Aura, leave her alone. Not everyone wants to play with you at all times, especially when you run at them at full speed out of the blue." She scolded her ferret. Aura had done this many times. It resulted in very scared birds (and when she was interested in them, people, who were surprised that a ferret was running toward them) and Madi being exhausted all day from chasing Aura all over the place. She saw that the girl was also holding a ferret. No wonder Aura had been so interested.
"She's kind of too curious for her own good. Whenever she sees something she's interested in she takes off running toward it. Of course, now she wants to play with you and your ferret." Madi smiled. "Thanks! Her name is Aura. What's his?" she asked, gesturing to the ferret the girl was holding.

The girl introduced herself and stuck out her hand. "Nice to meet you, Alliasta." Madi beamed, looking at the girl. "I'm Madi and I'm in Ravenclaw." she went to shake Alliasta's outstretched hand but her ferret jumped on it. Madi laughed, and they re-introduced themselves. "It's nice to meet you, Alliasta. I'm Madi." she stuck her hand out.
