First Day
First DayJulia said her goodbyes and climbed onto the Hogwarts Express to find a compartment. Surprisingly, there was still one free, so she came in and sat down, moving all the way across to the window, where she could watch the countryside fly away.
The train began to trundle down the tracks as Julia settled herself into the compartment, jingling the pocket of her denim shorts to make sure the money her parents had given her for the trolley was still inside.
It was.
She turned to grab something from her trunk- a book or something to pass the time when she saw the horses. A paddock-full of the creatures, most of them just grazing. Despite it only having been one day since she'd seen her own horses (her parents preferred to travel the day before so they didn't have to rush to get to the station and back home), she still felt a pang of homesickness.
She was distracted by the window, where they were now passing a river that many muggles were fishing in. It felt weird referring to people as muggles now- just over a year ago she had been among them.
Lost in her thoughts, only the sound of the carriage door opening made her turn her head.
