It was a cool afternoon. Helena was out school shopping with her mother Inessa the mother daughter duo where enjoying the nice afternoon chatter and bustle. Many people seemed to be swarming Diagon Alley from young first years to older students running into friends. The bustling of the alley district seemed lively.

Helena followed her mother rather closely. The young girl's golden blonde hair swayed gently as her mother's long glorious platinum blonde hair was put up in a very nice unkempt high bun.

The duo had finished mainly everything they had come to do. Helena had obtained her school textbooks, her wand and other necessities of course. The only thing left was a pet. Her mother agreed to let the young girl choose to get a pet for herself after all, Inessa believed the young girl would benefit from having a companion alongside her. After all the mother believed it would be good for the young girl to get a pet.

As the duo continued to head to their destination they stopped in front of the Magical Menagerie. Inessa opened the door silently holding it open for the young eleven year old girl who seemed uncertain. Taking in a deep breath Helena walked in the scent of many magical creatures and pets filled her nostrils making the young girl curious. Walking further in, the young girl looked around curiously.

An older kind gentleman greeted the mother and duo with a warm smile on his face. Helena gazed curiously at the older man. He was rather nice and had a bright warm smile on his face. Though Helena let her mother deal with the formalities as the young golden haired girl wandered around the shop her sea blue eyes curiously scanned the many arrays of animals around her.

Helena continued to walk around; she was uncertain of what animal to get her eyes scanned; the owls looked rather glamorous and elegant; she was tempted to get one, but she also was uncertain of what she wanted.

The golden hair girl seemed just uncertain she had no idea what she was looking for in a pet. Maybe more of a companion more than anything. As she continued to scan the area Helena noticed an older silver mackerel. His eyes were a golden dull yellow, his fur was a misty gray and black shine to his short fur.

Helena moved closer to the older looking cat; the fur around his muzzle seemed slightly lighter gray due to age. Sea blue eyes meeting with golden yellow ones seemed to examine each other curiously. The cat stretched its front legs while having its back end up in the air slightly. Moving closer to the young girl the cat sat up staring at her examining the young girl curiously. Helena also was staring at the older cat curiously. He seemed rather lonely, but contempt. Helena held her right hand out slowly to allow the cat to smell her hand as the cat leaned over smelling the young girl and he nuzzled her hand.

Helena smiled softly as she wrapped her arms gently around the cat's torso cradling him as if he was a small baby. The golden haired girl smiled happily nuzzling the cat who in return allowed the love he was getting from the young girl.

From a distance Inessa watched the interaction between her daughter and the older cat. Smiling softly Inessa walked over to her daughter placing her hand on the girl's shoulder.

“Is this the one you wish to get Helena Dear?”

Inessa spoke softly to her daughter, smiling gently down to the young golden haired girl. Helena glanced up at her mother smiling shyly holding the Silver tabby gently holding him closer to her chest.

“Yes Mother. He is the one.”

Helena spoke softly as she seemed to hold the cat tighter. Inessa smiled softly as she ushered her daughter towards the counter so the duo could pay for the items and the cat. Helena felt overly happy as she followed her mother closely with the cat looking down at the older cat Helena was wondering on what to name him or if he already had a name. As the mother daughter duo plus Helena’s new companion moved towards the check out. Helena noticed the older man again and beside him was a rather shorter older woman both had kind smiles on their faces. Helena smiled shyly back as her mother and herself arrived in front of the older duo.

Helena smiled shyly, holding onto the older cat happily to take him home. Inessa smiled kindly at the older couple as the mother and daughter bought what they needed. They said their goodbye as they left with Helena’s new companion.

Inessa glanced down at Helena as they near the doors smiling at her daughter.

“What are you naming him dear?”

Inessa asked Helena curiously as the young girl looked up at her mother curiously. Glancing down at the silver tabby Helena smiled brightly back up at her mother, a perfect name coming to mind for her new friend.

“Achilles, his name is Achilles!”

Helena responded happily as she held Achilles closer to the young girl's chest. Hearing the silver cat purr happily in the girl's grasp.
