Clair was grinning, she was grinning, they were all grinning. No harm done, right? But when Clair offered Ava a hand up, a devious smile spread across her face, which anyone who knew Ava knew what to do. Run.

Ava grabbed onto Clair’s hand, but instead of standing up she used it to send herself and Clair careening into the lake. All she had to do was lean over, and then her and Clair were in the cool lake water knee deep. When Ava’s entire body splashed into the water, she let go of Clair's hand to plug her nose. Her body hit the bottom of the lake and her arm scraped on some of the rocks, but she was otherwise unharmed. She pushed herself up and gasped in air, laughing when she saw Clair. “There, now we’re all wet.” She smirked, staring over at the girl she had pushed in.

With a snicker, she focused on Clair. “You have to give yourself detention now, right?” She knew that wasn’t true, but it still made her laugh.

Her arm sorta stung, and when she glanced at it, it was sorta bleeding, although she knew most of it was just water. “Anyone got a towel?” She joked, shaking herself off like a dog would and squeezing the water out of her hair with her hands. “No? Darn.” She sighed, and clamped one hand over her arm.

In all her time at Hogwarts so far (which granted, was not that long), Renelle had never been in a situation as chaotic as right now. Pleading with the prefect not to give them detention had been a rather surprising twist, though weirdly, not unexpected of this hair and eye colour- changing girl.

No joke, when her charming acquaintance suddenly dropped her broom out of the blue, for a moment there, the Ravenclaw thought that she was going to attack the older girl, and took a startled step backward. The begging that happened instead did not reassure her very much, just even more unnerved.

And if all that wasn’t enough, the Slytherin then went and decided to pull the prefect into the lake! Like, what was she even thinking? Was she? Renelle just stood there with her mouth unconsciously open as this disastrous turn of events took place, too amazed and horrified at the same time to form coherent thoughts.

Really, was this what could be excepted in Hogwarts? These two girls were both older years, which meant it was extremely likely this was what a normal day at this school would look like soon enough. The first year wasn’t sure how to feel about that. Couldn’t she have at least gotten some sort of warning? What happened to ‘Hogwarts is the safest place in the world?’

“Oh god.” She whispered in a sort of petrified trance, too low for anyone but her to hear. Slowly but surely breaking out of her stupor, her eyes started darting around frantically, backing away another step. This was not good. Nope, not at all.

In her panicked state, Renelle did not even notice when the crazy brunette girl rose, nor the faint sight of blood on her arm. She was far too immersed in freaking out inwardly for that. Her head shot toward the castle, which she stared at longingly, before turning back at the scene in front of her. What wouldn’t she give to be back in her dorm, without any worries about maniac potential minders and their antics? Alas, this was Renelle’s reality, and she had to face it.

Hopefully by running away. “Uh, you guys seem pretty busy.” She called to the two older girls, gesturing lamely at their wet predicament. “So… I think I’ll just… leave now?” Now, she had finally noticed the flying girl’s injured state, though that did not pull her to help in any way. It wasn’t like she was going to die from blood loss, and in Renelle’s opinion, she kinda deserved it, at any rate.
