A young boy in casual attire of a white shirt and black trousers was seen walking from the Grounds towards the Great Lake. With Aviator glasses perched on his nose and ears, and an enchanted satchel slung over his shoulder, he continued walking, taking in his surroundings. The boy held a camera in his hands, a gift from his mother. He planned to take some photos to send along with a letter to his beloved mother. When he arrived there, he seemed to stop for a moment. His long, slender hands raised the camera, trying to capture the view from outside the Great Lake. No flash was emitted from the little thing but the wonderful atmosphere was already caught magically.

The boy walked further and saw some students, boys and girls, younger and older, take some places at the lakeside. "It seemed everybody enjoyed their weekend here," he said. Then, he decided to continue his walks to find a peaceful spot that had the fewest visitors. Along his walks, the boy was taking some pictures. Squirrels that were going inside their nest in the hollow of the tree, some owls that flew above the lake, and some strange-looking plants. "Wait, what's that?" he stopped to see the plants. Once again raising his camera, he took some photos of them for his collection and planned to look at their information in the Library, hoping he could learn something about them.

Continuing his walks, he finally saw a spot that was peaceful enough for him. He could feel the autumn breeze that touched his skin. The rustling of leaves in the autumn wind tickled his ears and made him unconsciously pull the corner of his lips. He took his camera again and tried to capture anything in his surroundings.

A gentle gust of wind nipped at the boy's cheeks as he sat under the tree, overlooking the glistening beauty that was the Great Lake, gracefully reflecting the castle towering over it. It was the perfect landscape to draw, one that Harley had been meaning to capture ever since he arrived at Hogwarts.

The young Hufflepuff spent most of his day out here, just doodling and drawing on the sketchpad he brought with him from home. By this point, he must've used up multiple pages since he came outside. It was a peaceful spot and he was intent on getting the most out of it.

Even hours in, the young boy was nowhere near bored. Being an extrovert, drawing was the one thing that could occupy him for hours on end, sitting in silence with only himself and his pencil for company. After so long even the sun was threatening to fall over the horizon. Luckily he was almost finished with his last sketch; Hogwarts castle reflecting off the lake in the sunset. It was really a sight he couldn't afford to miss, so here he was, perched up under a tree dressed in his favourite pink hoodie and a pair of blue cuffed jeans, not a care in the world for whatever unfolded around him.

As Harley briefly looked up to gauge the scene, he noticed a boy taking pictures with what looked like a camera. Puzzled, he paused for a moment. He didn't realise some electronics were allowed on school grounds, still slightly bitter he wasn't allowed his phone or earphones. Though he figured there must've been a reason and simply shrugged it off. The boy, however, didn't seem to move. Now, Harley easily could've just drawn what he knew was there before the boy appeared, but what was the fun in that? No, instead, with a soft smile he continued sketching, mysterious boy included.

The autumn breeze whispered through his white shirt and made the boy's black hair flutter like leaves. With his pale, bony fingers, he pressed the camera button, capturing the evening scene like a painter capturing a sunset on canvas. The camera wasn't as fancy as he knew in the muggle neighbourhood, but it still could capture everything in the Great Lake. Still in the same area, the boy moved his position not far from where he stood, trying to capture the other things. Satisfied with taking some photos of trees, rocks, and some creatures, he once again turned his camera back to the lake shore, deciding to capture the lake and the trees in a single frame, like a window into another world. Then he pressed the shutter again to capture it.

The boy let go of his camera and let it hang around his neck. He then decided to look at the results and couldn't help but be surprised to see someone he didn't recognize in the photo. He immediately looked in the direction of the photo that had been taken and saw someone sitting under the tree in a pink hoodie. "Uh... wait. Since when has someone been sitting there?" he murmured in disbelief because he thought there was no one there. "Uncle said taking picture of someone without their consent is no good," he thought. But the boy didn't know what to do. No. He actually knew what to do but he was hesitant. Approaching someone he didn't know before still felt awkward for him. However, he also felt bad. The boy looked at the photo again and saw that the photo was actually good. "Maybe I can approach him and give this. Hope he didn't get mad or anything bad," he said to himself. Then he decided to approach the person under the tree.

He walked towards the boy closer and closer until he could see him clearly. He was a boy with dark blonde hair. Besides wearing a pink hoodie, he also wore jeans. The boy seemed doing something on his lap. If Zach was right, he was drawing. And he was right. Zach could see the boy was drawing with a pencil on a sketchpad. After he thought he was close enough, he started to greet him. "Are you drawing? Do you mind if I join you here?" he said with a smile. "Oh wait! Am I disturbing him?" Zach thought. He suddenly got a little bit nervous and felt what he had done was wrong. He just hoped the boy in front of him was friendly or at least didn't see him as a weirdo.

Fallen leaves rustled past the young Hufflepuff, still deeply immersed in his drawing. For all he knew, the boy still stood in the same spot taking pictures. Completely unaware of his surroundings, Harley glanced up briefly— "Bloody hell!" he yelped, startled by the boy standing near him. Shocked, Harley looked up, taking a deep breath before adressing him. "God, sorry I didn't expect you to come over." His smile was soft and gentle as he glanced over the mysterious boy, noting his casual white shirt and black trousers as well as his aviator glasses. Pretty neat style, he thought to himself. "I'm drawing yeah."

Keeping his gentle smile, Harley scooted over leaving space for the boy to sit beside him. "I saw you taking pictures," Pointing at the camera, he wondered how many he'd taken. Must've been quite a lot. "You were blocking my view. " he joked playfully, breifly glancing down at his drawing. There was only one person in the scene— one taking pictures on a camera by the lake.

Harley's blue eyes glittered in the mesmerising afterglow of the sun slowly setting across the horizon. Placing his pencil down, he glanced over; "I'm Harley by the way." He didn't think they met before, but this was as good a time as any to get acquainted.

Zach's eyes widened when he heard the boy in front of him surprised. An awkward smile appeared on his face as he said, "Uh... Sorry," with a grin. Now that Zach could see the boy more clearly, he noticed his pair of beautiful blue eyes, which he found quite appealing. Zach had always been fond of the color blue. He replied his next words by nodding.

When the boy scooted over, Zach interpreted it as a signal that it was okay for him to join the blue-eyed boy. He sat down near him, placing his satchel on the ground and holding his camera in his hands. "So you saw me?" Zach said, finding it hard to believe. He then thought to himself, "So I'm the only person here who thought that "I am the only person here"." He let out a weak chuckle upon hearing the boy mention that Zach had blocked his view. "Sorry. I only just noticed you were here after taking a few pictures," Zach explained, raising his camera slightly as if to demonstrate.

Zach took a quick glance at the boy's drawing and was impressed by its quality, especially considering his own lack of artistic talent. He looked at it briefly before the boy introduced himself as Harley. It was his first time seeing Harley so he was a little bit curious about him. "You can call me Zach. I'm a second-year from Ravenclaw," he informed the blonde-haired boy "What about you? I think I just saw you here. You're not a Ravenclaw or a second-year, right?" He was sure that Harley wasn't in the same house or year as him. Zach was quite confident remembering the faces of people he often met.

"What are you drawing? Do you mind if I take a look?" Zach pointed his finger towards the sketchpad. Speaking of drawing, the last thing he remembered from his own painting was a pair of flamingos that resembled two snakes on stick-legged rocks. Not to mention the paint blob he had accidentally created. After that mishap, he hadn't attempted to draw again.

Still looking over at the mysterious boy he now knew as Zach, the young Hufflepuff cracked a soft smile. "I am indeed not a Ravenclaw," his smile turning into an amused smirk. "Or a second-year." A solid observation by Zach. Ravenclaw was probably the least likely house he could've been sorted into. Gryffindor maybe. Slytherin if the sorting hat felt funny that day, but Ravenclaw? Nah, he wasn't quite equipped for that. Part of him entertained the idea of making the raven-haired boy guess, but ultimately decided against it. Something was telling him he'd get the chance to playfully tease Zach in the future, the thought alone making Harley snicker internally. "I'm a first-year badger and proud," he professed.

Harley gazed back at his mostly finished sketch, though it still lacked colour, shading and other details he'd inevitably have to finish some other time. It was just a sketch after all, but it was quite easy to make out what was going on in the piece; a dark-haired boy taking pictures on his camera by the lake in the oncoming sunset. "Sure, I was just sketching the view. It's not finished though," he tilted his sketchpad to the side allowing Zach to see, his pencil carelessly rolling into the grass between them.

Adjusting his fringe in the breeze, Harley looked back at Zach, taking a glance at the boy's camera. It wasn't like the ones he'd seen growing up amongst muggles. Well, not since it wasn't the 20th century anymore, but it was quite cool in all honesty. "I like your camera by the way. It's a bit uhm, rustic... But neat." Photography was never really Harley's thing though. Not like it was for his dad. The number of times he'd try and could never get the angle or the lighting right was infuriating, but at least he had drawing and painting to express himself.

Zach giggled when he heard the response from the blonde-haired boy. "Ah, so you're one of the Hufflepuffs," he said with a soft smile. Zach had met some Hufflepuffs before, and most of them were nice. "Proud badger, I see," he added immediately with a bright smile. The boy emitted a friendly aura, and thanks to this boy, Zach seemed to lose his awkward expression.

Zach bent his body a little to see the sketch. Through his glasses, the pale boy looked at the piece from corner to corner. It was a panorama of the Great Lake. It amazed Zach that he could see it so clearly. His eyes also easily noticed a figure on it, a boy with his camera standing by the lake. Zach straightened his body and said, "Your drawing is so cool! And... Uh..." He hesitated for a bit before asking, "Is it me?" Was it narcissistic for the boy to ask that? His cheeks reddened slowly as he was very shy about asking that question. He felt he shouldn't ask about it, but it was no use crying over spilt milk. He hoped the boy wasn't thinking of him like that. If so, poor Zach's reputation.

Zach looked at his camera after Harley mentioned it. He smiled and then answered, "Yeah, my mom bought it for me. She said I must be very bored here without electronics. Oh! If you live in a wizarding neighborhood, electronics are the devices that muggles use." Zach just hoped that he wouldn't have to explain electronic devices any further. "If wizards use magic as energy, muggles use electricity." It was the best he could describe electric devices. "I still used it a few times and learned how to do it. Speaking of taking pictures," the pale boy fixed the position of his glasses and continued, "I'm sorry. I accidentally took some pictures that have you in them. If you don't mind, can I keep the picture? But if you do, I'll cut the film and give it to you." What Zach could hope now was that the boy didn't mind because he just loved the last picture he had taken.

Zach's realisation prompted a wide smirk to stretch across the badger's face. "Yes. It's you," he snickered silently; thoroughly amused. Could he have drawn the landscape without Zach in it? Definitely, but where was the fun in that? His reaction was priceless even if the dirty-blonde boy couldn't have predicted they'd even have this interaction. It was however worth it just for that.

Tilting his head slightly out of curiosity, Harley listened as the pale boy explained electronics. Of course, he totally didn't need to but it was endearing to witness all the same. It was very thoughtful if nothing else. "Ta for the sociology lesson," he beamed in an obviously sarcastic yet appreciative tone. There was no mockery or malice in his words, just his usual playfulness. Listening to Zach being so intent on making sure he understood was a heartwarming gesture, almost as much as him making sure Harley was okay with the pictures— "You can keep them," the boy blurted without hesitation. He didn't even need to see them to agree. "I don't mind", he smiled warmly. Frankly, pictures of him, unsolicited or otherwise never bothered him at all. So what if he looked funny or weird? At least someone would get a good laugh out of it. Whether that was the case or not, he wouldn't kick up a fuss about it either, but he did appreciate Zach making sure.

"So, I'm guessing you also grew up with technology?" It was still odd to him how wizards didn't use what he considered basic everyday necessities. "Like the internet? Phones? Headphones?!" Honestly I got no clue how purebloods and some half-bloods live without music..." Ming boggling, he thought, still genuinely amazed by it. "And no, being here without it don' explain anything. I'm barely living as is." He exaggerated jokingly, his thick Yorkshire accent truly revealing itself. Living without music was truly a struggle. Throughout his whole rant, he kept a deadly serious expression on his face as if it was the most serious grievance he'd ever held.

It was just as Zach expected. But once again, it was very blunt of him to ask about it. "So it's really me?" Zach looked at the drawing again in awe, didn't dare to look at the blonde-haired boy's face as he was very ashamed now. The boy would remember his not-like-him question from on and suffered from this event as one of the random-shameful memories-encountering when he was going to sleep.

Zach gave a puzzled look since he had never heard the word 'Ta' before, or maybe he had heard it once or twice. But if he looked at the context, the meaning of the word was kind of like 'thank you'. There was no other response he could give except nodding at the blonde-haired boy. Then Harley also said that Zach could keep the film. "Really? Thanks! I will develop the film and print one for you." Zach was taken aback by his own words. How would he develop the film? He had never tried it. Well, that would be a new problem for him. People said 'Humans live with problems.' But Zach was just producing problems for himself.

Zach nodded once again when Harley asked if he grew up with technology. "Yeah! With all of it!" Zach answered. "Wait... So you're saying that you also grew up in a muggle neighbourhood?" So what's the point of him explaining about the technology and stuff? In his mind, Zach giggled at how he had so much energy to explain one thing and others just now. "I know, right? How can they live like that? I am also surprised that I can pass a year here." Zach's eyes wrinkled as he chuckled. "But wizards also have some magic-related device for hearing music. Actually, I haven't found any device that can be used to hear music privately like headphones." The pale boy with his black iris looked at Harley. "You seemed to like music."

An amused grin festered on the blonde boy's face; Zach really didn't expect it huh? "Mhm, one hundred per cent you," he dramatically gestured towards the pale boy, sarcastically teasing that it was, in fact, him in the drawing. "Shocking, isn't it mate?" Perhaps it really was for Zach, but that didn't stop his reaction from being amusing.

Breaking eye contact briefly, Harley turned his gaze toward the lake, his already messy hair fluttering in the gentle autumn wind. His expression calmed into a content smile; it was truly a breathtaking sight— the lake, the castle towering above it, the Scottish highlands— all of it. Wholly an uplifting sight to behold, not unlike Zach's enthusiasm for developing the film. Harley didn't know what that meant, nor what it entailed. Even though his dad was into stuff like that he never really paid much attention to the details of it. "That'd be ace!" Come to think of it, he didn't have many pictures of himself. Was it even weird for someone to have pictures of themselves printed out, just lying about the place? Meh, maybe, but it was a very good photo so who cared?

"Wait... So you're saying that you also grew up in a muggle neighbourhood?"

The question has been asked once again. Although, at least this time it didn't come from a curious pureblood as it always did. "Yup, me dad's got no magic." Harley thought it pretty obvious that he grew up without magic. For the past month, it seemed like everyone could tell. Though then again he had started to get adjusted to living in the wizarding world. Maybe it wasn't so obvious anymore? Who knew? It didn't really matter much anyway.

The topic of "no technology allowed in Hogwarts" always managed to instil a fiery passion in the young Hufflepuff. "Innit?! I don't know how you did it either. Me personally? I'd wager I have a month left in me before the 'curse of no music' claims me." A little dramatic, but the sentiment certainly held merit. Harley chuckled as Zach made his observation. He did indeed like music. A lot. "Who doesn't like music?!"
