“Único no siempre es el mejor.” Jay muttered, not really meant to be heard by anyone. He was a bit surprised at the answer. Even if you were born a female, why be reincarnated as it if you don’t identify as one? But he wasn’t in any place to judge. Whatever you want with your afterlife he supposed. But water paints..? He hated them. Always dripped down and mixed with the others, making it so a self portrait will turn him into an orange alien with black hair. It wasn’t the most fun, as the canvas he was painting on always takes the brunt of his anger and ultimately breaks in half.

Oh, his turn? He paused, thinking. He just told Andrea to go before him. Whatever. He didn’t know what to say. Nothing too specific, that would be a dead giveaway. For either the lie or the truth. He looks at AJ eating their food. It seems like he was silent for hours. It felt like it to him. But not even a second had passed yet. It was like the world had slowed down just for him to stop and think. Bit creepy, if he really looked around. But there was no time to think about that. Don’t make a fool of yourself. Pull yourself together.

He sighed, looking off to the side for a second before looking back to the two first years. “Okay. I’m a Pisces, I’ve never broken a bone, I can play both the piano and the guitar.” Okay, that was good enough, right? If that was told to him, he wouldn’t be able to decipher it. Wait, he lied. He probably would be able to. He was able to tell someone's name by just looking at them, what's stopping him from getting a simple truth game right? The AJ one was a fluke. He went with logic, not his gut. He wouldn’t do that again.

He kept his gaze steady for each sentence, and for after. His body language was the same. He was a good liar. He knew how to lie perfectly well. He needed to, when he had nosey parents like he did. He hated how they were on him about everything. Sending owls constantly once they realized how to use the system to their liking. Owls every once in a while was fine, but every single day? It was overkill, and he knew it. He was here to make it as hard as possible to pick out the lie by just body language.

Jay decided to laugh. Of course. It was a 33% chance of getting it right if you simply guessed. It was a good chance that guessing would be your downfall, but in this case, it seemed to be the product of prosperity for AJ. He glanced at the food for a moment, wondering if he should eat. No, he was fine. If anyone asked, he ate a big dinner. “AJ, you’re right. I’m pretty sure I’ve broken every bone in this body of mine. I’m a sports kid. Even played Quidditch last year.” His eyes brightened for a second at the memory of his time in the air.

But then he shook it away. He quit this year. The moment he walked into the school, he quit. Something that gave him joy last year was something he realized wasn’t for him this year. Jay was a muggleborn. He didn’t know how to use a broom as well as the others, he barely knew the game. He wasn’t planning on getting back into it. He just wasn’t made for it. Quidditch wasn’t for the light of heart. He’d stick to football and rugby. Muggle games. The things he was made for. He wasn’t made for Quidditch, not at all.

“Don’t worry, Angie, ‘hat was a hard one. I would've got i’ wrong too if I was ya.” He opted to reassure the Hufflepuff, making sure she doesn’t feel bad. It was a simple game, no need to get sad or angry. Well, for him, he just isn’t allowed to be sad or angry, but still. If he was, he would be seen as someone to steer away from. Someone to fear. Jay didn't want that at all. “I was born in March, I be’ieve, so tha’ makes me a Pisces. I know wha’ I am because my old friend was super into the zodiac signs and ‘tuff. And I learned to p’ay the piano and the guitar las’ year. Ac’ually brough’ me guitar this year. It's chillin’ in ‘ey dorm.”

That reminds him, he should dust it off and start playing again. With all the chaos, it would be good for him to play a song he liked. People in his dorm here are absolutely crazy. Loud and causing a ruckus. Maybe he could play at night in the main common room. He might wake someone up, but what was a problem for future Jay to handle, not right now. He wasn’t one to think things through like this. Is he wanted to do something, he’ll do it. No amount of reasoning with him will stop him from doing something he sets his mind on.
