Today had started like any other day. Madison had woken up to a quite chilly October day, eaten breakfast, had Quidditch Practice, had a study period in the library and was now walking to Charms class, her last class before lunch. As she walked into the classroom, she took a seat at one of the desks in the second row from the front, placed her books on the table and chatted with one of her friends who was also in the class and sitting at the desk behind her. They were talking about the Fall Ball that had happened and also thinking about what they might be learning in class today.
Madison had done a little bit of reading ahead of the class today. She wasn't a prodological Charms learner, she just enjoyed reading and, having finished her homework for Herbology and Potions a few days ago, she had decided to read ahead, though she still hadn't figured out what they might be learning about in class today.
As the desks kept filling up, Madison soon saw a brown haired girl from Ravenclaw sit down beside her, Madison smiled at the girl, letting her put her things in order on the desk before introducing herself, "Hey I'm Madison, what's your name?" she asks.

She walked down the hall and pushed the door to the Charms classroom open, a little bit later than she normally came. Most people were already there and were sitting down at a desk. The desk she usually sat in was occupied, so she looked around and tried to find an empty one that was close to her, and she quickly found one and went toward it.
There was a blonde Hufflepuff girl sitting in the one next to her, and she picked up her stuff and moved it so Madi could put her things down. "Thanks." She smiled as she took her books and wand out of her bag and put them on the desk.
She sat down and put her bag under her chair. The blonde girl smiled and introduced herself, then asked for Madi's name. "Hi, I'm Madi. It's nice to meet you." she smiled at the girl, whose name was Madison. We have pretty similar names. she thought but didn't say.

Madison smiled at the Ravenclaw girl, who introduced herself as Madi. Madison knew she had to be from Ravenclaw since she'd not seen her in the Hufflepuff common room and Charms class was with Ravenclaws, since her boyfriend Simon was also in this class, but he was sitting with one of his friends. She thought that Madi and Simon might know each other, after all they're in the same house, but she didn't ask.
Madison looked at her for a minute, thinking she recognised her from somewhere, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it. She took out her notebook, which she and Simon had scribbled all over the front on, and placed it in front of her ready to take notes during class. She giggled and turned to Madi, "no way, that's what my friends call me, they shorten Madison to Madi" she says with a smile, moving her hair off her shoulders and against her back, tucking some of her baby hairs behind her ears. After turning around to talk to one of her other friends, Madison turns back around and sees Madi looking at the front of her notebook. She giggles and smiles at her, "do you like it, my boyfriend and I designed it together when we were in the library one day" Madi said with a sweet smile.

She started looking around the classroom. It was split Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs. She was reminded of her first Charms class. She'd gotten there earlier than anyone else had, scared of being late and making a bad impression. She'd read at her desk for a few minutes before anyone else came in. Madi always smiled remembering that, because now she was always barely on time to her classes.
She turned to look at Madison, then down at her desk. She looked at her notebook, which was covered in tons of scribbles. Madison giggled and explained that she and her boyfriend. Madi was glad to have something to talk about. "I really like it, I think it's cute." she smiled. "Who's your boyfriend?" she added. She knew it was a slim chance she would know Madison's boyfriend, especially if they were a Hufflepuff or Slytherin. But she might, besides it was probably a good conversation topic or a way to get to know each other better, which Madi was all for.

Madison giggled and smiled at Madi, "yeah, I haven't ever met anyone else named Madison or Madi before either, maybe that means we're going to become best friends, it would be cool to have friends in Ravenclaw besides Cassie Jiang and my brother, he's in his fourth year and spends most of his time in the library" Madison said with another giggle.
As Madi asked her who her boyfriend was, she blushed, turning to look at Simon before looking back at Madi, "oh you may actually know him, my boyfriend is Simon Tilia, he's in Ravenclaw like you. We've been dating since September of this year but we've been best friends since we got into the boats to arrive at Hogwarts for our first year, he actually helped me into the boat so i didn't slip" Madison said, her cheeks turning a light shade of pink as she faces Madi and smiles, since they were talking together.
"I'm also going with him to Scotland for some of winter break to meet his parents for the first time, which i'm nervous for but they sound really lovely. Simon said that it would be impossible for them not to like me so that gives me some comfort" Madison said with a giggle.
I hope Madi and I become friends, she seems so sweet, fun and easy to talk to Madison thinks to herself. Madison loved making new friends, she was a very social person and naturally seemed to draw people to her with her smile, charm and grace, along with her very sweet and kind natured personality.

Madi saw Madison look over, and she looked the same way. No way. She'd looked at Simon Tilia. She then confirmed she was dating Simon Tilia. "No way! I know Simon." Madi said. Simon was one of her friends she'd met in first year. They hadn't spoken much recently so she wasn't surprised that Simon hadn't told her that he was dating Madison. "He's really nice, I'm sure you guys make a cute couple." She smiled as Madison blushed. She's got it bad. she thought, trying not to laugh. Madison kept looking back at Simon and blushing.
"I'm sure they're going to like you, why wouldn't they?" Madi laughed.
"We know a lot of the same people." She noted randomely.

Madison giggled and nodded. Destiny was a strange word for Madison. Being from the kind of family that she was, her mother basically had Madisons whole destiny planned out for her and expected Madison to follow it, however she didn't want to. "I guess it kind of is like destiny Madi, I'd love to be friends with you, if you're up for that" Madison said with a smile.
Madison smiled again. She had guessed that Madi and Simon would know each other since they were in the same house. "I would have thought you did since you guys are both in Ravenclaw, and yeah, he is super nice. Sweet, caring, funny and loves his food, I don't blame him though, he's a growing boy. My brother still eats loads of food, it's like it's there one second and gone the next" Madison said with a giggle.
Seeing Madi try not to laugh made Madison blush even more, however she soon calmed down and looked back at Madi, seeing the look on her face, speaking low since they were now in class,"that's a good question that I don't quite know the answer too yet Madi" Madison says with a giggle.
Madison thought to herself as Madi said that they know a fair few of the same people. "We probably do know quite a few of the same people Madi, and now that we know each other, that makes it even better right?" Madison says with a smile

She laughed hearing Madison's explanation of Simon. "Yeah, he does like food." When they'd met, Simon had suggested they go to the kitchen. He'd then raved about the food, while Madi had raved about the house elves. Although the food had been pretty good, all Madi could focus on was the house elves.
The more Madi thought about it, the more she realized how perfect Madison was for Simon. She barely knew Madison and she already reminded her of Simon. (Although she didn't know Simon that well, either.) "You guys sound so cute together." she smiled.
"Like I said, they're going to like you! Just be yourself and I'm sure they will." Madi said, trying to reassure Madison. She was sure Simon's parents were going to like Madison, she was so sweet, and adults loved that. It's the kind of trait they would gush over to their own children.
"Yeah, it does." Madi agreed, returning the smile.
"Sooo... Who asked who out?" she grinned. "And where was your first date?" she asked, and then stopped. "Sorry, I'm being nosy." she said awkwardly.

Madison smiled, she felt happy making a new friend, especially one who seemed as sweet and friendly as Madi. "I think like is a bit of an understatement, I reckon he's got one of those bottomless stomachs where he's never full" Madison said with a giggle.
Madison blushed at Madi's comment and smiled, "Aww thanks Madi. It felt so natural going from friends to dating with Simon, I don't think it would have done if it had been another boy apart from Simon" Madison said, feeling her cheeks heat up again, before she calmed herself down and giggled with Madi.
Madison thought about what Madi was saying and she was right. Madison was sure that Simon's parents would like her, she was just nervous, but there was no need to be. She'd have Simon by her side and that gave her all the comfort she could need. Madison giggled at Madi's questions and smiled that ever present sweet smile, "No no it's ok Madi, you're not being nosy, just curious, a very Ravenclaw trait and a pretty cool one at that. Well, after we had a slightly awkward encounter in one of the Greenhouses, we shared another kiss the day after and Simon asked me then to be his girlfriend. In terms of our first date, we found a big tree on the edge of the school grounds and just sat under it, talking and having some snacks, it was really sweet" Madison said.
"He has said that he'll take me on some more non magic dates which I'm excited yet nervous for. There'll be a lot of new things in his home and area that i've never experienced. Like he's talked about the fact that he's got some kind of black box that plays colourful images onto it with the click of different buttons, and round thin discs that play songs on them. He laughed at my reactions to what he was saying and it made me go all embarrassed, but I'm excited to experience it all" Madison said, before realising she may be talking too much.
"I'm sorry, i'm rambling, tell me more about you Madi" Madison said with a giggle. She had a feeling that she and Madi were going to be good friends, so she wanted to get to know her more. Though as the professor walked past their desk, the girls made it look like they were working, giggling together quietly once the professor was towards the back of the classroom, continuing their conversation

"Definitely." Madi nodded. "He's the one for you." she said, wishing she could have worded it better. Madison's reaction to talking about her and Simon was so cute, and their relationship was so cute, Madi couldn't stop a giggle.
She could see Madison's facial expression change as she thought about Madi's words. She didn't reply, but Madi hoped that she had convinced her that Simon parents were going to like her and she shouldn't be nervous about it.
Madison shared the history of her and Simon's relationship. Madi listened intently. "That's so sweet!" she gushed. It was the cutest love story ever.
Madi listened as Madison talked about the non-magical dates Simon planned on taking her on. She laughed when Madison mentioned different Muggle objects that she was excited about. Madi sometimes forgot that a lot of wizards had no idea what a lot of Muggle objects where.
Whereas Muggle's existence had not been hidden from them, unlike how they had been hidden to Muggle existence, most still did not know most things about Muggles unless they had been raised by them.
"Yeah, it's definitely different from here." Madi couldn't think of the stuff she'd grown up with as exciting, now that she was in the magical world.
When Madison asked Madi to tell her about herself, she hesitated. Madi never really knew what to say when someone asked that.
"Uhm, well, I'm muggle-born, I was raised in London, I'm in Ravenclaw, obviously, and I really like to read. It's like my favorite thing. I also really like the outdoors, running, and I play the violin and the piano." Madi gave an overview of random things she thought about herself as they popped into her head. "What about you? All I really know is you're dating Simon." she asked, half-teasing.
