Love, your daughter

Dear mother,

I have adapted well to Hogwarts. I befriended classmate but I miss home. I wish I could hug you and father. At night, I feel utterly alone, and I miss you putting me to bed. The elves make good food, but nothing compares to your cooking.

I believe you’ll like my friends. They are, for the most part, Ravenclaw but I’ve befriended some Gryffindor. I’ve told them about your amazing cooking, and I hope you’ll invite their family for dinner sometime.

I believe I’m doing well in class, and I can do most of my spells right. Potions is a little bit tricky, but I think after some time I’ll get the hang of it. My favourite subject is probably astronomy. The beautiful sky is such an amazement and it’s secret I want to unravel keep me up at night.

I cannot wait for the Christmas break to start. Not because I don’t like school but because I wish to see you soon. Kiss daddy for me and tell him I miss him just as much I miss you. Stay healthy and don’t hurt yourself. I love you and I’ll see you in two months.

Much love, your daughter Marianne.
