As Ava climbed the steps up to the astronomy office, one thought kept circling her mind. Why was she doing this? Sure, if a student asked she would say she was looking for the professors lava lamp, but in reality it was much more serious. Maybe it was a completely irrational fear, but back at school again she couldn't help but wonder when the next full moon was. Wonder or fear, really. She knew it was always near the end of the month... or she thought so, but she knew that the astronomy professor would be the best to ask for help. Even if it was possible he wouldn't offer her any help. She wouldn't be surprised, she would be annoyed if a student had the audacity to break her property and then come back asking for help.

It was more difficult not to let her thoughts drive her crazy than to climb up the stairs, and she was grateful when she reached the top of the stairs. She hadn't knocked on her last visit, but she figured it was better to seem polite if she wanted his help today. So she knocked. Twice, and quickly.

She looked nervous, more nervous than anyone ought to look when visiting a professor, unless it was for a detention. But she wasn't here for a detention. She was here to learn the dates of the full moon--and hopefully get a calendar with the moon phases.

Sure, sitting at his desk didn't look like a great time, apparently. "Welcome." He said, greeting Ava into his office. His eyes lingered, but then he saw his second lava lamp and recalled what the girl had done with his original. He decided he would take the lava lamp down and place it by his feet on his side of the desk, so it was out of sight. "What do you want, Ava? Is there anything in particular that you want to gain incredible knowledge about?"

Honestly, Octavius didn't hate Ava. He just thought it left a bad taste in his mouth when she wouldn't own up to breaking his possession right away. Holding a grudge wasn't mature. It wasn't nice, and it was unfair for any forms of progression in which he'd be the one holding her back. "Would you like to learn about... the zodiacs? Talk about my son? What?" He simply asked, but then his face went into a weird look, kind of like he was smiling and his eyebrows were arched as if he were suggesting something very silly and mischievous. "Do you like Clark, Ava? You know... I ship you two. Ship is the modern terminology right? I do hope I'm staying hip with the times." Okay, he was done joking. He needed to get serious again.

She chewed her lip, letting him finish whatever ridiculous things his professor mind could conjure. Not once did he accurately guess why she was there, although truthfully she wanted to laugh at his last guess. Everything about it was ridiculous, from her liking Clark to β€˜shipping’ them. Indeed, that was the current β€˜terminology’, as he put it, but when someone out of their teen years said it, it sounded ridiculous. Certainly different from when someone her age said it in a casual conversation.

β€œI’m here to ask about getting a…moon calendar. That has when the full moons are and stuff. Is that a thing?” She wondered, her thoughts trailing off with the passing seconds. β€œLike what day of the month I should…” hide and be prepared for anything Lucian wouldn’t ever dream up. β€œknow to be on the lookout for.” She finished after the pause. She still wasn’t sure if the professor had heard of her reputation, and sharing her unreasonable fears would lead nowhere but a lecture and possibly counseling and probably pity and all the things she didn’t walk.

She watched the professor expectantly, waiting for an answer that wasn’t a further probe into her and Clark’s love interests (although she was not interested in him in the slightest, she had Oliver for all the crushing).

Maybe the Astronomy Professor seemed like a total douchebag, definitely uncool when he had used modern terms. He couldn't help but want to actively feel like he's a part of the children's lives in the terms of being cool. He didn't care so much for sagging his pants or to have big poofy hair, but he wanted to be seen as cool. His age was perhaps the hardest part of his life, aging meant he was trapped with the nostalgic memories he had embedded within his childhood.

And it were no longer his childhood. He was now an adult, a man so to speak. And with that consequence and realization that he had to meet when he got married and adopted kids, he had to accept that he would forever seem uncool. This was fine. However, it does get exhausting to be seen 'uncool'. He wasn't one of those professors who would slap someone in the back of their heads when they disrespect them or talk during his lecture. He was one who would bring forth cringy materials in partial hope that he was seen as cool. He hated bringing the hammer down, which could have partially explained Clark.

He looked at Ava. "Uh, yes. You can get a moon calendar." He opened the drawers to his desk and rummaged through his files, finding an expired moon calendar from the year 1999. "Well, I can't say this will be the correct moon calendar... give me a second." He stated again, this time getting up and going into his library of books regarding the American Space Agency (NASA) and looked for the topic regarding Earth's moon. Once he had found it, he found stacks of parchment he had copied and produced earlier that year, intended for any lessons regarding Earth's moon.

"Here. I hope that's all." The himbo calmly recanted, trying to block out what he had just said regarding shipping her and Clark together from his memory. That was uncool. He was uncool. He needed to accept that fate. "I'll see you soon." Octavius projected as he opened the door for her exit from the classroom.

Meeting @Octavius Baird after her first lesson
Quinn steeled herself as she climbed the stairs to the astronomy tower. She had loved the lesson she had 2 nights before and wanted to talk to the teacher. He seemed very knowligible and Quinn wanted to talk with him. Astronomy is amazing. Quinn thought.

Reaching the tower, Quinn looked around for Professer Baird's office. Should I really be doing this? Quinn wondered. Quinn stretched in the almost-afternoon sunlight. At least it isn't cold yet. Quinn thought.

Quinn's thoughts drifted back to the astronomy lesson on thursday. Quinn had tried to go to sleep after setting her alarm for half an hour before the lesson. Quinn hadn't been able to fall asleep and had stayed up, reading her astronomy text book and looking at the stars. Quinn rembered thinking that, the stars are so pretty, I wish that 9:30 would hurry up and get here! Quinn smiled as she remembered sprinting up the stairs, desperate to see how the night looked from the top of the tower.

Quinn shook her head to clear it. I really should talk to him, maybe one day I could do something with the stars. Quinn found the office door and knocked. Creaking it open, Quinn poked her head inside.
"um... good morning-er-afternoon sir. Uh, I'm Quinn and I have a question..." Her voice trailed off and she looked down. That sounded really stupid. Quinn thought.
