Thinking about @Rhys Read, @Nora De Carie, @ Mellani Miller and @Mahlioz Evethisawe
Qrow | #064107 | Qrow's Thoughts | #11a513

If anybody who knew them were to have looked at Qrow Beithir as they said goodbye to only two parents on the first day of their second year, it was likely that they would have noticed how there was something inherently wrong and incredibly different about them.

Most obviously was in the way they dressed; last year it was rare the child was seen to be wearing any colour, mostly dressing in grayscale shades, with the occasional bit of Slytherin green, and styles generally associated with the upper-class.
This year, however, as the redhead stood on platform nine and three quarters, they were dressed in a sleeveless sunshine yellow band t-shirt that had been tucked into a pair of black jeans, as well as a pair of slight-platform boots in the same shade of yellow. Not only that, but their long ginger curls now had bleached streaks of white that hung in front of their eyes, while the rest was tied back with their wand.
They had gained a multitude of new piercings over the summer too, most ironically snake bites on their lips, however, their right ear was also littered with pieces of stainless steel - they refused to wear real silver, however much they loved it as they learned last year that there were werewolves at Hogwarts it felt wrong to wear such things around them.

Secondly, they had grown just about 2 inches over the summer, and, combined with their boots that also added about 2 inches to their height, they practically towered over a good portion of their fellow second years - not that they hadn’t already been rather tall for their age - and dwarfed the poor little first years.

Thirdly: and likely the least obvious to anybody that didn't know them, was in the way they held themselves. Their demeanour was much more relaxed compared to how it had been in their first year, and whilst they still stood with the same dignified grace that they had stood with all their life, it was rather obvious that something had changed over the summer.
Of course, if anybody asked the now second year Slytherin what had occurred, they would put on a bright smile and simply jump into an explanation of how their older cousin had stayed with them, and would continue to be doing so for the foreseeable future. “I've always wanted siblings”, they'd say, before moving on and asking how summer was for the other of whom they were conversing with.
It wasn’t as if they were lying by any means; they had been ecstatic at the prospect of Clover staying with them, regardless of the circumstances the arrangement had been made under, it just so happened that other things had took place over the six weeks away from Hogwarts that the child would much rather avoid talking about.

They had boarded the train alone - or alone as one could be with a rather fat ferret snoozing in your backpack. Their cousin, Clover had disappeared earlier, heading further down towards the front to go sit with her own friends, most of which were third year Hufflepuffs like herself, and as much as the Slytherin was usually fine in solitude, they wished that she had stayed, if only to dissuade their thoughts from straying too far out of line.

Their luggage had already been stored - minus their backpack which contained a variety of things to amuse themself on the train as well as Pan - and now all that was left to do was either look for their friends, or find an empty carriage to sit in; honestly, they were so close to complete self-destructive isolation at this point, the idea of an empty carriage to sit in was almost more appealing than finding anyone they knew. At least then they wouldn’t have to go through the “how was your summer?” conversations.

They manoeuvred carefully through the sea of new first years that were struggling through the carriages with trunks that were almost the same size as them. It was rather annoying really, the amount of over emotional 11 year olds that seemed to form a blockade in the hallway. The metamorphmagus didn’t remember being quite as emotional as any of the new students when they themself had been a first year, but then again they had always been rather good at keeping their emotions in check - with the exception of their anger.

Qrow really had expected to find at least somebody that they recognised in one of the train's many compartments, however in the end the Slytherin had to settle for an empty carriage.
The space itself was fairly large but sparsely furnished, as such, only two cushioned three-person seats sat opposite facing each other. A medium-sized window took up the middle section of the wall and displayed the occasional glimpse of the countryside. The walls of the compartment were simply painted tan and while the dim lighting of the space did little, the light from the window was bright and warm.

They sat quite comfortably; lounged across their seat with their back pressed up against the window, one leg drawn up to their chest and the other falling off the chair; their bag trapped between the latter to stop it from falling and its contents from being strewn across the floor. They had learned the hard way last year that sitting on the floor was not the smartest of ideas, however the seat was a nice place to bask in the sunlight, and Qrow couldn’t help but find the warmth soothing on their pale freckled skin.

They had a book in hand; something muggle and likely suggested by either Rhys, Mahlioz or maybe even Nora; though they were barely paying any mind to it and the information wasn’t sticking. Qrow had seemingly developed a major difficulty to focus over the course of the summer, not that they hadn’t had such a thing before, it was just that for some reason it was becoming undeniably worse nowadays and the child often found their attention waning from the things they had used to enjoy. It bothered them desperately, to the point that they had to create a schedule in order to maintain any of their hobbies.

Finally, the train shuddered to a start and as much as they tried to stay in their seat, the Slytherin almost went flying out of it, only managing to catch themselves with their foot pushing against the floor and their hand gripping the back of their seat, of which they used to pull themselves back up. They were beginning to remember why they preferred the floor…
They had luckily built up quite a bit of muscle mass over their years of Archery, Ballet and Gymnastics and as they grew it was beginning to show in their physical frame too.

Unsurprisingly, throughout the jostling, they had lost their hold on their bag and, while most of their belongings remained inside, Pan had ended up halfway out, laying on his back with his paws in the air.
He looked to be unconscious and the redhead couldn’t help but be slightly panicked as they gently picked him up, trying to keep his head from rolling backwards, or they were panicked, until the fat creature let out an ungodly snore…

“Can’t bloody believe it. How did you sleep through that?”

Qrow picked up their belongings, before cradling Pan to their chest and settling back in their seat, just in time to see a familiar face go past the door to their compartment and internally cringe.
They had barely owled anyone all summer, and their contact with the rest of the world had been sorely limited to a singular casual visit to the Jangleton estate and half a dozen fancy galas and parties thrown by the various members of the rich purebloods of the magical community.

As their friend passed the door, everything seemed to move in slow motion. On second thought, maybe Qrow wasn’t ready for social interaction today…

quite in shock at the sight of @Qrowley Beithir
Qrow wasn't the only one who'd significantly changed in the time between first and second year. Rhys had as well, and they presumed that anyone who would see them would be in for quite the shock, perhaps almost as much as the one they were in for in return.

It was clear that Sebastian Read wasn't pleased with Rhys' behavior leading up to the end of first year (meaning that they were queer and identified with a gender outside of the one they'd been pre-assigned at birth), and he'd taken the summer as an opportunity to reinforce his authority. Aside from the short trip Rhys had spent at Qrow's house at the beginning of the summer and visiting their extended family, they'd been barred from leaving their house. They'd been grounded, and instead of being able to sit in their room the entire time (which is what they would've done if they hadn't been grounded), they had been assigned various chores to do around the house instead. Sebastian Read didn't mess around when it came to discipline, and he made that much clear. Even more so, the week before Rhys and the twins were scheduled to return to Hogwarts, he sat them down and outlined his expectations for that year. They were to room in one of the girls' dorms. Rhun would be keeping a much closer eye on them than he had the year before. If he heard word back that Rhys was still pulling the same stuff they'd done the previous year, Sebastian wouldn't hesitate to pull them out of school and send them to their grandparents' house for homeschooling with a few of their cousins. He laid all this - and more - out before asking in a stern voice if he had made himself clear.

The answer? Crystal.

Rhys begrudgingly gave in to their father's wishes, letting their hair grow out instead of maintaining its shortened length from the year before, nor cutting it short impulsively in the middle of the night again. They also wore more form-fitting, 'feminine' clothes (much to their chagrin), and there was a notable increase in the amount of jewelry they wore- more notably the locket they wore around their neck. Rhys had found it when they'd been tasked to sort through the piles of boxes in their family's attic, and it turned out that it had belonged to their mother when she was their age. It was one of those lockets that opened up to allow for a picture to be placed inside, and while it was currently empty, Rhys's mother had nonetheless gifted it to them and they'd taken to wearing it. That way, they always had a piece of her with them, and that was comforting. Especially since it was becoming increasingly clear that she was one of the only people in the Read household that Rhys could count on to even try to understand them. Her and Rhain, at least. Rhylee, too, but she was still at a young enough age to be on everyone's side, and so Rhys didn't want to take any chances.

The goodbye at the platform was short, with Sebastian giving Rhys a pointed look and them giving a tight-lipped smile in return. They gave their mother a hug, followed by Rhylee before they said goodbye, grabbing their trunk and letting Daphne climb her way up to their shoulder as they grabbed their trunk and made their way to the train.

Rhys went out of their way to look for an empty compartment, as they were particularly dreading the moment when they'd be recognized by, well, anyone, but they had no such luck, as every compartment they passed had at least one person on the inside. They'd reached the last compartment and had almost decided to turn and try to find Rhain's compartment before they halted in their tracks. Was that... no, it couldn't be..

Rhys took a few steps back until they were in the door frame of the compartment, peering in at the person inside and taking several moments until they eventually realized that their eyes did not deceive them.

"Holy fuck," Rhys said, almost dropping their trunk in shock as they stood there. Daphne jumped down from their shoulders, not necessarily liking how much she'd been jostled and instead walking over to where Qrow sat and jumping up on the bench next to them. She gave Rhys a pointed look, to which the Gryffindor felt obligated to step into the compartment and sit across from Qrow. "Uh, hi," They said, remembering social etiquette as they eased their trunk down and got a better look at the Slytherin in front of them. "I, um, I almost didn't recognize you," Rhys laughed a little, subconsciously crossing their arms over their chest and looking at Qrow. They bit their lip, clearing their throat. It was clear that the two had a lot of catching up to do, but where to start?

Mahlioz stepped onto the Hogwarts Express on time, which was improvement from last year. She still couldn't believe it was last year that this had happened for the first time. She was a second year now... that was incredible. What had she done to become a second year? Absolutely nothing that she could think of. Just being a year older felt unfair. She still felt like a first year.

Unlike Qrow and Rhys, though, not much had changed for the Slytherin over the summer, apart from a pet rabbit, sleeping in her trunk, please bear with me I have yet to get him, so I'm not RPing with him yet but he exists lol and a slight haircut that was barely noticeable. Although she'd also grown a little, but nothing excessive. To her, this was just another summer, just another year she would be starting, a little older and hopefully a little wiser than in the last.

This was apparently not the case for everyone, though, which Mahlioz realized as they walked through the Hogwarts Express looking for a place to sit down. A lot of people she'd seen in the halls before had changed quite a bit, and there were many new faces. But nothing was so surprising as when she saw Rhys Read and Qrow Beithir.
She didn't even realize who they were when she walked past them, just seeing another compartment with two people she hadn't met before in it, before doing a double take and opening the compartment door. "Qrow? Rhys?" She would've said it with a little more enthusiasm if she hadn't been so unsure it was them.

Qrow was (to no one's surprise) a million times taller, but that wasn't all. They were wearing really colorful clothes, which was not at all like them, and had bleached streaks in their hair, along with a bunch of new piercings. Their style seemed to have changed completely. And Rhys... Mahlioz didn't even know them that well, but things had definitely changed. Their hair was a lot longer, and their clothes were peculiarly feminine, to the point where the Slytherin wondered who they had borrowed them from.

"Er... nice to see you guys again," Mahlioz said awkwardly. It was already stressful and awkward enough, on the first day of her second year. But this was different - these were people that she knew; or rather, that she though she knew. Maybe they had changed. "Can I sit with you?"

Qrow | #064107 | Qrow's Thoughts | #11a513

The door opened, and while the swift blur that had walked past had definitely resembled their favourite Gryffindor, the person standing before them was only that; a resemblance.

Why did everything have to change?

"Holy fuck," Rhys said, eloquent as ever. A grey cat jumped down from their shoulders and walked over to where Qrow sat climbing up on the bench next to them; the redhead had to move Pan slightly in order to free up one of their hands, reach out and stroke the feline, who, if Qrow remembered, was named Daphne. It would have been a difficult feat if they had been the same size as any other second year, for Pan was incredibly big for a ferret, something that was rather fitting, considering Qrow’s own size.
Daphne, Qrow noticed, was rather expressive for a cat, seemingly giving her owner a pointed look as if to say ‘what, are you just going to stand in the hallway for the entire train ride’.
Clearly, Rhys was used to this, as in the next minute they were awkwardly stepping into the compartment, setting their trunk down and sitting opposite them.

The Slytherin knew from experience that having something in the middle of the floor wasn't the best of ideas - a lesson learned on their first trip to Hogwarts last year, when they had rather stubbornly placed themselves in the middle of the compartment floor - so while Rhys got themselves comfortable Qrow pulled their wand out of the messy bun at the back of their head, allowing their long curls of ginger and white to spill freely down their back, and carefully cast the levitation charm with a quiet "wingardium leviosa" to put Rhys' trunk in storage above them.

"I, um, I almost didn't recognize you," Rhys laughed a little, crossing their arms over their chest and looking at Qrow before biting their lip and clearing their throat.

They didn’t recognize Qrow? They were kidding, right? The Slytherin was a metamorphmagus, they always changed; a little bit of a hair colouring potion from Diagon Alley and a new wardrobe wasn’t going to make them unrecognisable, especially considering, for the most part at least, Qrowley Beithir was the exact same person: Stubborn to a fault, a bit of a nerd and still wildly charismatic.
Rhys, on the other hand, looked like an entirely new person!
The long hair, the feminine clothes and the abundance of jewellery…
The metamorphmagus couldn't help but feel it was all wrong.
Rhys was wrong and it made the redheads' skin crawl.

But… if they were happy –
Qrow could ignore it.

It was then that the Slytherin realised they hadn't said anything; the silence was starting to become awkward. Gods, what could they even say? Anything and everything that came to their mind only led back to conversations about the summer, and whilst Qrow was confident in their ability to lie, Rhys knew them well, too well, and would most definitely know that they weren't being honest.
They didn’t want to talk about summer.
Too much had happened.
If the conversation went to that…
If Rhys asked the wrong question…
Gods, Qrowley wouldn’t be able to hold themselves together.
They could lie.
Rhys would see straight through it.
They were good at that.
Talking about summer meant talking about mum.

No. Everything was fine. Fine!
The albums. Qrow had managed to get a hold of some muggle vinyls not long after the Gryffindor left the Beithir estate at the beginning of the summer. A muggleborn witch that was a friend of their parents had helped them after Qrow’s father Daemon got sick of his child going on, and on, and on about the music that Rhys had introduced them to.

Just as they opened their mouth to speak, the door slid open.
"Qrow? Rhys?" Came a familiar voice, laced with uncertainty.
Mahlioz was a welcome distraction from the redheads racing thoughts.
"Er... nice to see you guys again," Mahlioz said awkwardly."Can I sit with you?"

A smile slid onto the Slytherins face. At least not everything had changed. Mahl was still the same. Of course she was.
Qrowley moved their long legs off the seat and out of the way, spraying them out in front of them, before taking their free arm and bringing Daphne closer to them to allow their fellow Slytherin some space to sit down. What was it with cats and being able to take up an entire large space despite being so small? At least Qrow had an excuse for taking up space.

Finally Qrow spoke, the odd mixed accent of Scottish, Welsh and upper-class English that they tried so hard to hide in first year free from its restraints and as the words left the second year's mouth, they felt the first tid-bit of joy they had in over a month. Being back on the way to Hogwarts; it was like an escape from all the melancholy that lingered deep in the foundations of home.
"It's good to see you two again"

Rhys knew almost immediately just how ironic their words were. Qrow was ever-changing as was their metamorphmagus right. Meanwhile Rhys...

The silence that seemed to grow between the two was unbearable. There was nothing but the sounds of the train, Pan’s snoring, and Daphne’s purring as the two sat awkwardly across from each other.

After what felt like an eternity, Qrow finally opened their mouth to speak, and Rhys was bracing themself for the onslaught of questions that was sure to follow when the door to their train compartment slid open. Rhys turned to see the familiar form of Mahlioz Evethisawe, one of Qrow’s friends and dormmates from the year prior. While Qrow was bold and extroverted, Mahl had a quieter, more tentative quality to her, and Rhys got the feeling that the two balanced each other out.

“Qrow? Rhys?” The Gryffindor thought they heard some incredulity in Mahl’s voice, and they couldn’t blame her for it. It had been a long time since Rhys was able to recognize the person they saw in the mirror, but they’d gone numb to the sensation a long time ago. “Er.. Nice to see you guys again.. Can I sit with you?”

Rhys nodded as Qrow moved their legs off of the bench and out of Mahl’s way, making room for the other Slytherin as they splayed their legs in front of them and moved Daphne over with them. Rhys bit back a laugh at the expression on their feline’s face, which was a mixture of surprise and annoyance. Daphne eventually (begrudgingly) settled down again, and Qrow spoke.

“It’s good to see you two again.”

Rhys could agree with that. While they weren’t especially excited about the amount of explaining that would later be expected from them regarding their sudden change in appearance, nor the fate of their dorm situatio , it was an immense relief to be heading back to Hogwarts at last. Their summer had been long and lonely, and they were glad to finally put some distance between them and their father. They sighed, laughing.

“Tell me about it, my family just about drove me insane over the summer.” They shook their head, curls swaying. Their hair reached their chin now, and only a portion was still the darker color they’d dyed it the winter before. Their roots down to their ears was their natural auburn color. They hadn’t had the time or motivation to dye it again. “Between Rhun and my cousins,” Rhys shook their head, slumping against the back of the bench as they forced a bright smile. “Let's just say I'm relieved to have your guys' company instead."

Mahlioz was relieved when Qrow smiled and moved their legs to make space for her. She hadn't wanted to interrupt anything between the two. But Rhys nodded and Qrow's smile was genuine, so she sat down next to them, putting her trunk away and hoping Eusèbe wouldn't wake up too soon and scratch at her stuff.

Qrow said it was nice to see the two of them again, which meant it hadn't been too long since Rhys had sat down. That was good, Mahlioz didn't want to miss too much. Then again, she wasn't sure she had missed anything at all. The two were uncharacteritically quiet.
That changed soon enough, though, as Rhys sighed and laughed. They said something about how their family had driven them insane over the summer, and how they were relieved to have Qrow and Mahl's company instead. It would've seemed like a harmless comment normally, but combined with how much everything had changed, Mahlioz found it was more than just a comment.

The Slytherin had never met Rhys' family. She didn't even know Rhys themself that much, and they definitely hadn't spoken to each other enough for her to know a thing about their family. But from the looks of it, it didn't exactly seem to be the best. Mahlioz was now very curious, but she felt like asking would be prying too much. She knew Qrow a lot better than Rhys, and she still didn't want to ask what had happened to them, let alone the Gryffindor. Still, though, her mind was trying to figure it out. How had two months changed someone so much?

She didn't have much to say, really. It kind of felt like she was intruding. But she was in the compartment now, and it wasn't like she didn't like these people. The atmosphere was just... thick. And anyway, she didn't know what she would say in the first place. Talking about the summer, when obviously so much had changed, didn't seem right.
Maybe she could go the other way, though. The future? With a little optimism. "I can't wait for our second year, I'm really nervous but there's also so much I'm excited for!"

Rhys sighed, laughing as Pan suddenly perked up at the arrival of Mahlioz.
That was odd, he was quite lazy during the day, and it was strange for him to perk up this early for anything other than food; still, the redhead though nothing of it, much too focussed on the arrival of their friend and the sudden uptake in conversation.

“Tell me about it, my family just about drove me insane over the summer.” They said, shaking their head, curls swaying. Their hair reached their chin now; only a portion was still the darker colour they’d dyed it the winter before; their roots, down to their ears was their natural auburn colour, and Qrow couldn't help but wonder why they hadn't dyed it again. “Between Rhun and my cousins,” Rhys shook their head again, slumping against the back of the bench as they forced a bright smile. “Let's just say I'm relieved to have your guys' company instead."

It was a heavy statement, and while the Slytherin knew it was likely supposed to be nonchalant, they also knew Rhys Read.
Part of them wanted to ask about it; to know if Rhys was safe and happy at home (Though they feared that they already knew the answer). The rest of them knew a conversation like that would only lead back to the metamorphmagus' own summer; something they had pushed far into the back of their mind until it all just felt like a blur. The most they could do for now was hide their worry and address the issue later; it wasn’t likely the Gryffindor would talk in front of Mahlioz anyways.

Speaking of the other Slytherin, she didn't say much. She had always been a rather quiet individual for as long as Qrow had known her; which, arguably, wasn't very long, but she was in the compartment now, and however quiet, Qrow had become rather fond of her company since first year. The poor girl had just unfortunately come in when the atmosphere was rather... thick. After all, talking about the summer, when obviously so much had changed on both ends, didn't seem right, and thankfully, Mahlioz thought the same thing, evident by her chosen topic as she finally spoke up with a little bit of much needed optimism. "I can't wait for our second year, I'm really nervous but there's also so much I'm excited for!"

The redhead had to agree; there was plenty they were looking forward to this year - though, not everything they had planned was entirely rule abiding; they'd have to find Nora and Mornstern at some point, though that shouldn't be too hard considering Nora would be in the same dorm as them this year and Mornstern would be easy enough to find once everyone had settled back into the Slytherin dorms - it would be nice to get back to classes too, and Qrowley found themselves rather looking forward to the prospect of more challenging materials to learn. Still, the idea of causing a little trouble was rather enticing, and despite the metamorphmagus’ severe distaste for Lucian Mornstern (and his family at that), the careful planning it had taken to pull off their crazy idea had been a welcome distraction during the summer and had made their return to Hogwarts all the more exciting.

So much had changed over the summer, and all rather suddenly, Qrow found themselves hiding back behind the charmful mask that was suddenly becoming all too real. That is to say, the child had always been charming; however, after the events of the summer, something had inherently changed. Something that had used to be a mask to hide behind was now suddenly very real, and Qrow found themselves finally understanding that old saying of "keep your friends close but your enemies closer." (Though maybe it was the little part of them that thought they could ‘fix’ the boy that decided on keeping Lucian Mornstern close - after all, it was more than likely that his blood-purist views were simply just a result of his family)
A young metamorphmagus growing up in upper-class society, attending fancy parties and galas for as long as they could remember, chatting with socialites, and playing the role of a wealthy heir to a large fortune. Needless to say, Qrowley Beithir had learned very quickly how to charm people. From diffusing arguments between their many cousins to sweet-talking the pure-bloodist adults at their fathers' many parties with a sweet smile on their face, Qrow found it easy to hide behind their apparent charm.
If a stranger told you that your yellow dress was hideous, you’d tell them to get lost; however, if a beloved friend told you that yellow was certainly not your colour, you would be more likely to listen and get rid of the dress.
Friends; real friends.
Qrow had quite a few of them now - the two other students in the compartment with them were a fairly good example - and despite it, the idea of burdening either of them with the events of the summer felt impossible; so they didn’t.

“Well, I don’t know about the two of you, but I’ve got a lot of plans for this year. Can’t wait to see Nora and Mel again - hope neither of them have hayfever...” They added, looking to Mahl in concern “Oh, and I managed to get a hold of a few new records and books! Still haven’t managed to find out what the hell a ‘Bat-Man’ is though; I need to find Nora and ask her about it”
A dazzling smile graced their face more often than not nowadays, and, to many, it looked real - now was no exception.

They were talking more, now, so that was good. Didn't really change how tense the atmosphere was, or how confused everyone was at... well, everything. But they were talking. About simple things. Like their new dormmates, and hayfever, and records. And batman? "You... you don't know who batman is?" Mahlioz asked, incredulous. It kind of made sense, considering Qrow was a pureblood. But still - everyone knew who batman was. Even wizards. Right? I mean, he was crazy famous!

Of Qrow didn't know who batman was, and no one had told him yet... perhaps that was a reason to keep it that way. Perhaps. Maybe Mahlioz was just feeling a little chaotic, or wanting to cause something to happen with this awful tense atmosphere. But that was it, she'd decided. Qrow would not know who batman was.

A scratching noise got her attention, and she sighed, knowing exactly what it was. "Sorry, I..." she stood up to get her trunk open, taking Eusèbe out. He'd indeed woken up and started scratching at her stuff. Thank the stars she'd heard him before everything was destroyed.
"I got a bunny over the summer! His name is Eusèbe," she said, introducing him to her friends. Her parisian accent became strikingly obvious when she said the rabbit's name, the French accent slipping out, because she had no idea how to say it English-ly. You-zeeb? That just sounded awful. It was Euh-zehb.

The bunny in question was desperately trying to get out of her hands, which wasn't very normal. She frowned. He looked terrified. What... Oh. As soon as she glanced around, she realized what was wrong. The compartment wasn't just three humans and a rabbit. It was three humans, a rabbit, a cat and a ferret. And the other two animals looked rather hungry.

As though fate thought this particular situation hilarious, it was at this point that Eusèbe finally made it out of Mahlioz's hands, fell onto the seat below and scampered towards the door of the compartment.

"Sorry, I..." she stood up to get her trunk open, and pulled out a bunny; the only thing in Qrows mind at that very moment was the phrase oh shit, which bounced around their brain like some kind of unyielding echo. The taller student’s face went white as they suddenly became acutely aware of why Pan had become so restless with the arrival of their friend and as soon as Mahlioz took the bunny out of her trunk, Qrow knew that shit was about to go down; the poor thing looked absolutely terrified, and had the metamorph been in the poor creature's situation, they would likely feel the same.

"I got a bunny over the summer! His name is Eusèbe," she said, introducing him to her friends and currently unaware of Qrow's current silent state of panic. Her Parisian accent had become strikingly obvious when she said the rabbit's name.

Pan had been fed today; in fact, he had been fed twice, as they had stupidly forgotten to check the piece of parchment on the fridge this morning to see as to whether their dads had fed him - they had - which meant that the fat ferret had gotten a second helping of breakfast; they had added the checklist to the fridge cause the little bastard was greedy and kept loitering around his food bowl as if he hadn’t eaten; what he really needed was a diet!

Despite being fed twice today, Pan was apparently still rather hungry and while Qrow tried desperately to stop him from wiggling out of their grip, as soon as Eusèbe was out the door, Pan managed to wiggle free from their grasp and, with a speed that the taller Slytherin had never seen in the ferret, ran at full pelt out the door and after the poor rabbit.

Qrow had never acted so quickly in their entire life, and as soon as Pan had taken off running, Qrow was up and out of the door, barrelling down the train after him and Mahl’s poor bunny, their voice booming as they shouted at their misbehaving pet and pushed passed anyone in their way.

“Pandemonium, get back here you little shit!”

Honestly, naming him something that meant chaos, was likely their first mistake.

How Do I look? Convincingly Human?
Q.B: R.WS:
Closed Everything's Changed OPEN TO FRIENDS
Dai was sitting peacefully in an empty compartment, resting his head against the glass as she watched the ever changing landscape surrounding the train. As much as she'd usually be the first person to make friends, loud and confident as she was- she was for once quite glad of the peace. This is because it's his first year at Hogwarts, and for all he loved change and exciting new experiences- something she won't admit to anyone is that she's almost nervous.

You see, Dai hasn't spent much time away from home. Sure he's spent a weekend away on occasion with the football club- something her grandmother was reluctant to allow at first and something she currently quite misses- but the prospects of being away for such a long period of time, in a different country nevertheless? That's a whole different ballpark. That is to say that this contemplative quiet is for once welcomed, for it allows enough time alone to prepare for being his usual self once they arrive. And so this silence will last until the train stops.

A crash.

"Pandemonium, get back here you little shit!"

Spoke too soon.

Dai startles, banging his head on the window. "Fucks sake", she rubs her head with her hand before getting up and flinging open the compartment door, just in time for a rabbit to barrel past. Concerned and barely thinking just acting, she grabs the rabbit before it runs too far out of his reach- holding it close to her chest in an attempt to not let it escape.

“You're just a wee dwt, aren't ya? How’d you manage to cause a right ruckus?”

He laughs to himself as she pokes her head out of the compartment, glancing down the aisle in search of an owner, only to be met with the slightly comedic image of a rather tall ginger hurtling down the carriage.
