Frozen Tear and Many Fears Finished

Sylvie's eyes widened as she saw Rosalyn start to cry. She was slightly confused because she didn't expect her to start crying over this. "P-please don't cry," she said taken aback. Her face turned slightly red, as she thought about what to say. Suddenly, Rosalyn started nodding furiously, and Sylvie finally understood they were tears of joy or something along those lines. She was still confused about why she was so happy about being friends with her of all people, but she accepted it and smiled.

"Cool! I hope we'll get to know each other well!" She decided that it was an appropriate time to hug Rosalyn, so she quickly gave her a hug, then looking back over to the lake. The surface was still glittering because of the sun, which didn't seem to melt the snow at all. It was mostly hidden behind some clouds. The sparkles reflected in Sylvie's green eyes.

"Isn't it pretty?" She said to Rosalyn, looking back over to her. Sylvie loved the lake here at Hogwarts. It's always so pretty, frozen or not, and she spents hours sitting under the trees and just admiring the scenery. "I love this place, it makes me feel relaxed. How long have you been drawing?"

For the first time ever Rosalyn has obtained a new feeling of emotion. She wasn't sure how to describe it herself, but it was nothing she had ever experienced. When Rosalyn was hugged by Sylvie, she started to cry even more. She held onto Sylvie tightly for a while. The first hug she's ever received from a person other than her parents. Rosalyn would continue to cry until her eyes could no longer produce tears. After that, she would let go of Sylvie.

After letting go, Rosalyn turned toward the lake which Sylvie was looking at. A sight that had a fitting beauty for the previous moment. When asked if it was pretty, Rosalyn didn't respond. She just stared into the Lake as it glittered. For the first time ever her mind was blank ; in a state of complete nothingness. Rosalyn had finally found a moment that fully stood out too her. Something distinct rather than what she as accustomed to.

When Sylvie began speaking again Rosalyn turned towards her. For a moment, she didn't respond to her question. Rather, she wondered if she could find more enjoying moments if she hung around Sylvie. She stared at Sylvie's green eyes for a few seconds before speaking. "I wasn't drawing for long. It's just a light unfinished sketch right now." she responded. She looked back down at the sketchbook, and stared at it.

When Rosalyn started crying more in Sylvie arms, Syls became flustered, still wondering while being friends with her was such a big deal. Sylvie didn’t completely hate herself, but she did think she was a bad person condisering how she seemed to snap at people so easily. She and Rosalyn hugged for a while and Rosalyn’s tears dropped onto Sylvie’s shoulder. She felt Rosalyn’s shirt on her hand as they embraced until they pulled away.

“Oh that’s.. uh... not what I meant.” Sylvie said, thinking about how to re-phrase the qustion. She had meant throughout Rosalyn’s life. She’d asked this because She thought Rosalyn’s art was very good, but obviously it was taken differently. Sylvie, teeth chattering slightly from the cold, asked, “How long have you... been drawing through out your life? Like how many years have you been practicing. Like I said before, that drawing looks really good!” Hopefully she got the point across now. She pulled her legs closer to her body and held them tightly hoping to become warmer.

Rosalyn didn’t seemed as bothered by the cold as Sylvie, but maybe she was hiding it. Sylvie had gotten better at hiding her feelings from others, and she knew some people who if they wanted to do so, they could make you think they were thinking the opposite of what they were actually thinking. It was a strange skill. Sylvie reaches into her bag, pulling out a brown coat with white fluff on the inside. She offered it to Rosalyn. “Here, I have an extra coat of you’re cold.”

Rosalyn looked back up toward Sylvie once she began speaking. She wasn't surprised to see she had misinterpreted what the girl meant. Rosalyn was corrected in almost every conversation she has ever had with anyone before. Rosalyn listened to the chatter of Sylvie's teeth, and then listened to Sylvie speak again. She was relieved to be informed of the misunderstanding. "I have been drawing since I was little. I like to draw beautiful things, because they give me the sensation of feeling happy." she replied.

After she finished speaking, Rosalyn noticed that Sylvie held pulled her legs in closer. She assumed Sylvie was getting cold, even tho we were already wearing coats. Rosalyn started thinking of the possible different ways to help Sylvie warm up. However, she did limit some of them based on what she believed Sylvie would call "weird and creepy". It then came to her mind that she should give Sylvie her jacket.

As she was about to take off her jacket, Sylvie had started reaching into her bag. Rosalyn watched intensely, curious to see what would be pulled out, but it was just another coat. Rosalyn assumed Sylvie had pulled it out for herself, but she was a bit surprised to hear that the jacket was being offered to her. She stared at Sylvie for a brief moment, and then spoke. "I am currently not cold. Based on your body movements, I believe you would be better off with the jacket." she said.

"The sensation of happy feelings? That's a strange way to phrase it..." Sylvie thought. Sylvie did understand what Rosalyn meant though. She felt the same way when she was writing her story. It was one of the things in life that gave her joy, and she didn't like to brag, but she'd become pretty good if she did say so herself. Then again, she had practiced writing more than anyone else she knew. "Yeah, I understand what you mean. I get the same feeling when I'm writing."

Sylvie felt a bit embarrassed, and she didn't really know why. Maybe it was the way Rosalyn phrased the statement, which suggested that it was obvious she was cold? She honestly didn't know, and the blush on her cheeks blended into the red color they already were from the cold. "Oh... okay," Sylvie slipped on the jacket over her other one, which was a bit difficult since the sleeves weren't made to fit twice the arm thickness. After a while, she got its arm, but now it was difficult to bend her arms. Even so, she was warmer, which was good. Well, her chest and arms were warmer. Her face was still red in some places from the cold, but the only annoyance it caused her was a runny nose

"So..." Sylvie said thinking of what to ask next, suddenly thinking of something. "What's your family like? Are they nice?" It was a bit of a random question, but who knows what question could get a nice conversation started?

Sylvie had caught Rosalyn's attention when she mentioned writing. Rosalyn enjoyed reading, no matter what the material was from. Ranging from philosophical books to plain-old fantasy stories, anything with words on it intrigued Rosalyn. "Show me what you write." she said. There was a slight bit of enthusiasm in her voice which made it sound like she was demanding to see it. Rosalyn was eager to read something new, especially from her first friend ever.

Rosalyn watched as Sylvie was putting on her jacket. Once she put it on, her arms weren't able to bend. "Cute." Rosalyn thought to herself. Rosalyn would slightly blush as Sylvie looked like a funny cartoon character doing something adorable. Like a baby trying to walk or dance. Rosalyn would imprint this scene into her mind so she could draw it later. It wouldn't be as accurate as drawing Sylvie now, however she was too afraid to ask if she could draw Sylvie. Especially after believing it was assumed to be "weird and creepy", she didn't want to bother Sylvie at all.

Rosalyn was a little thrown off by Sylvie's question. It didn't really fit with anything they have talked about before so it confused her. Rosalyn thought about it for awhile, and gave the best answer she could come up with. "I lived with my parents. My mother was a pure-blooded witch, and my father was a muggle who didn't know about magic or wizards until he met my mother. Both of them would be average I guess. I don't know any other families to compare them too. I can only compare them to families I've read in books." Rosalyn would touch her ruby earring after talking. It was the last thing she received from her parents before going to Hogwarts. Rosalyn missed her home, however, she was happy she came to Hogwarts. She could finally learn about magic, and become a strong witch like her mother. The people she meant have also taught Rosalyn many things, in just a short time; including her new friend Sylvie.

Sylvie was a little surprised by Rosalyn statement, especially because of the tone. Sylvie thought about what she should show Rosalyn, for she had many stories that she had started to write. She pulled out her diary from the bag, and the notebook with the story she was going to show her. She flipped through the diary and found the page she was looking for.

The page had the idea Sylvie had come up with, which was a story about a two girl's lives. One half of the book was to be from one girl's point of view, and the second part was supposed to be from the others. The two girls were in love but had completely different lives. One was an only child who was dealing with anxiety and she had a pretty pessimistic outlook on life, and the other girl had two twin little sisters one with depression, and one in a toxic relationship and that girl is feeling very stressed out. The two girls found each other in a time of suffering, and help each other get through their tough times. Sylvie wanted to make the characters relatable for the people who were suffering from those things so they didn't feel like they were alone. Sylvie herself had some anxiety, but not as bad as the girl in the book who had frequent panic attacks and had to leave the class often, but she did know the feeling so she was able to put a bit of herself into the character. The page had the summery of the book, the type of thing you see at the back of the book.

The following pages had the character bios until it ended and changed to a page with a diary entry from when she'd just gotten her letter from Hogwarts. She handed the diary to Rosalyn along with the notebook with the story, the first line being, "I don't want to get out of bed, because I'll just end up back here tonight, and this school doesn't teach me the things I need to know in the 'real world.' Then again, what the 'real world' entails is even more school."  She watched Rosalyn, not noticing the eager look she had on her face as she waited for Rosalyn's thoughts. "D-do you like it?"

Sylvie listened as Rosalyn talked about her family, and she described them as average. If Sylvie ever said that about her family, her dad would probably somehow find out and have a stern talk with her. This fact made Sylvie giggle to herself. Her friends used to always say Sylvie had a cute giggle. Its pretty high pitch, but not so much it would sound creepy. After they would say this Sylvie would suddenly feel the slight urge to punch them in the face, but she just made a mad face so she didn't ruin friendships. "I bet they're really nice, huh?"

Rosalyn watched eagerly as Sylvie pulled a diary out of her bag. She couldn't wait to read something new. Rosalyn had only been to the library here one time so there is still a lot of books she would like to read. When handed the book, Rosalyn instantly began reading the summary. Going off the summary, Rosalyn had already read books with similar aspects, but nothing quite like this. Sylvie's story truly was something new. Rosalyn then proceeded to read the first line of the story. It was confusing to her. She began reading it over and over again, thinking hard on what it could mean. She slowly put the pieces together by realizing that 'real world' meant the world outside of magic and wizards.

Rosalyn simply ignored Sylvie when asked if she enjoyed it, and she just kept reading through the page. She would flip through the pages, and read through. Due to Rosalyn's photographic memory, she was able to skim through texts, and still remember what they said. After reading a good bit however, Rosalyn realized she never answered Sylvie. Her stare jumped right up to Sylvie's face, and her eyes were filled with excitement. "It's good."

Rosalyn was thrown off by Sylvie's giggle. "Cute." she said to herself once again. Rosalyn's face would slightly blush, but her face was already slightly red due to the cold. Sylvie once again reminded Rosalyn of a cartoon character. Rosalyn was then asked about her parents again. "I assume they are nice. They do stuff for me, but once again I can't compare them to other parents." Rosalyn was still caught upon how to measure how nice her parents are. She does know that her parents care for her, and can always cheer her up. However, she's not sure if other parents happen to show more care if that's possible. Rosalyn was big into comparing multiple sources of information in order to find what is similar between them. That was when an idea had popped into Rosalyn's head. "Sylvie, what are your parents like?" It had just occurred to Rosalyn that this was the first time she had asked another person a question, so that the conversation could continue.

Sylvie's face lit up when Rosalyn respond. She tried to play it cool, looking off into the distance and putting both of her arms behind her head. "Oh..c-cool," she said, wanting to do a big toothy grin, but not wanting to look too excited. Sylvie sighed and put her hands on her lap, quickly wiping her nose on the sleeve, but it looks pretty awkward considering she could barely bend her arms. She noticed Rosalyn was blushing, then realizing it was probably just the cold, and her face was red as well. Sylvie looked at the notebook, and the line that she kept on reading with a confused look. “The person speaking is Violet, she’s a pessimist. She’s saying when she grows up, she’ll have to go to college which is more school. The real world is the world she will experience when she becomes an adult. By the way, she’s a muggle along with the rest of the characters. I didn’t know about the wizarding world yet when I started writing this.” She explained, trying to clarify a few things that might be confusing Rosalyn.

Sylvie smiled when Rosalyn asked her about her family. Sylvie loved her family, well, most of them. “My dad is very caring and does a lot of work to make sure me and my sister have the best life possible, and my sister is very kind and loyal. I love them a lot.” She decided to leave out a few parts, like how Here dad was almost never around, except for little bits of time on the weekends, and how her mom has basically left her family devastated. She winced a little when she thought of her mom who she hated more then anyone else on the earth, but she brushed the thought off quickly. “I guess you could say we’re a regular family, their isn’t much special about us really,” She said.

Sylvie sneezed twice, wiping her nose again. She loved it here, but man was it cold. She’d seemed to have forgotten about being in tears a few minutes ago, which was good in her mind. “How are you not cold, I think it’s freezing and I have two coats and a blanket!” She said, making a pouty face and pulling the blanket closer to her, then looking back over the Rosalyn. “If you actually are cold you can share this blanket with me since  theirs more then enough room under it. Besides, it’s really soft!” She offered.

Rosalyn watched again as Sylvie struggled to wipe her nose. She wasn't sure how someone could feel so cold. Rosalyn assumed she wasn't use to the cold. Once Sylvie began speaking, Rosalyn put her attention back into the book. It was nice to get more background information on the book. When Sylvie had mentioned that she didn't know about the wizarding world it caught Rosalyn's attention. Rosalyn herself didn't know that much about it until recently; she thought everyone else had known about it for their entire life. Rosalyn then focused her attention back to the book. "Violet is a good name. Like the flower."

Rosalyn listened closely as Sylvie described her family. However, she noticed that Sylvie didn't mention her mother. "Did she forget too? A mistake?" she thought to herself. She continued to listen until Sylvie was done, and then Rosalyn asked "What about your mother?" Rosalyn was confused. A mother was a part of every family from what she's use too. She was also surprised to hear that Sylvie had a sister, considering Rosalyn was an only child. However, Rosalyn always wanted a sister herself; an older sister to be exact. She figured if she had an older sister she would have developed more of a personality.

Rosalyn had watched Sylvie sneeze again. Rosalyn was then a bit surprised to hear how cold Sylvie was. She did assume she wasn't good with the cold, but Rosalyn didn't think she was this bad with it. Rosalyn also assumed that she herself could just be too good at handling the cold. Rosalyn was a bit thrown off when Sylvie offered her to sit under the blanket. She was a bit nervous, since it would be the closest she would get to a person other than her parents. "I'm not cold, however if it brings your mind to ease then I will sit under the blanket." Rosalyn then scooted over towards Sylvie and got under the blanket. However, she avoid looking at Sylvie the entire time, and Rosalyn was now staring at her feet. Even though she wasn't that cold, she still felt a little sensation of warmth under the blanket. It was nice and soft as well. Rosalyn's thoughts were getting a little shaky from her nervousness though.
