Books = Magic
Nick was in the Library with his new friend Mitzi. They were over by the shelves; Mitzi at a table, and Nick looking for a good book about Nifflers. He found one, brought it over to her, and sat down at the table.
"I'm gonna try to figure out how to sneak one into the school."
He started flipping through it.
Nick felt a bit of a warm aura around Mitzi, like the kind that you get when you've found a true friend. "So, er... I want to be a Magi-zoologist when I graduate, because my mum worked for the Department for the Regulation and control of Magical Creatures. My dad worked for that-- except the Muggle version. At least, he did until..." Nick's eyes trailed off sadly, then snapped back to the book he was reading. "If I do smuggle them in, I'll have to get some of those shiny shells mom has..." he murmured.
"So, um, what do you want to be when you graduate?" Nick asked. "Eh... Hold on. I'm going to go get a book about how to cast a Summoning Charm." Nick walked through the shelves, sighing happily. This was where he belonged. The smell of old books, the look of the parchment; it was like greeting an old friend. A friend he had loved all his life. Nick shuddered. That brought back horrible memories. Memories best left forgotten, but mentally can't be. Was it just him, or was the room getting colder?
Nick found the right book, and hurried back to the table where Mitzi was sitting, sighing in relief as his body promptly warmed up.
