Kim wondered what was going through her mind, although he could probably guess her surface thoughts. "You must be a new prefect, aren't you? Don't worry too much about it. As long as we get out before morning, you'll have nothing to worry about!" Kim said as he tried to think about a way to get them out of this situation. If only @Colin McCoire would pass by, maybe they could manage to get out before any other prefects/staff patrolling the corridors could find them. Then again, how would they be able to see them inside? Kim sighed. "If you weren't told about it, there's no reason to blame yourself!" "If you were, just make sure you remember it for next time. You don't want to end up making the same mistake twice." He said with a faint smirk. The two ended up talking and getting to know eachother more over the next few hours and by the time the moon came out (not that they could see this) they had grown much closer. Eventually, Kim suddenly remembered something, a way to get out of the abandoned toilets. He'd learned it a few weeks ago and had forgotten about it until this very moment now.... Apparently, so had Monica. "Wait... Don't you remember the spell we learned a few weeks ago in Astronomy?" "It's a specific spell for opening the abandoned toilet's door!" He exclaimed upon getting to his feet and got out his wand again. "We still have time to finish this prank! I'll get the door, you get the prank materials." Kim told her and waited until Monica had gotten out of the way before he pointed his wand at the door again. "Aberto!" He incanted and a blue light shot out of his wand towards the door. The previously stuck door suddenly was blasted open by his spell and Kim turned around to grin at Monica. "Easy as pie!" The teen said and gestured for Monica to follow after him to the location of the prank. |

You can end this thread here by posting one last time if you want and I'll close the thread! I wanted a good ending for this thread and thought this would work out pretty well. Plus I found an opening spell designed specifically to open the abandoned toilets! What luck! Sorry for the delay in posting!

It was getting late.
Two boys were moving along the dark corridor, not exactly skulking yet not exactly moving with purpose. As they passed by a window along the fourth floor corridor, their forms were briefly illumined. The black haired boy had his right arm around the white haired boy's shoulders and vice versa. This worked nicely because they were the same height. Their heads were put together as they quietly whispered to one another. An occasional giggle could be heard. Only God knew what the twins were talking about as they switched from Gaelic to Scots and back again!
Eventually, the slight scuff of two pairs of black Doc Martens could be heard from the stairwell on the second floor. The twins, still arm in arm, made their slow and casual way along the now deserted corridor. They had been to the ballroom, where they had talked about all the spells they'd learned. Then they went to the rehearsal room where they sung together for a while. And now they were making their way towards the abandoned toilets.
"Whisht lad!" said the dark haired one. Colin.
The light haired one listened intently, his brows knit in concentration. Liam.
They gave each other a knowing smirk. As silently as they could, they crossed the corridor slantwise towards the abandoned toilets. "It's closed," whispered Liam. They both knew what that meant! Sometimes the door got really shut fast and you couldn't open it! They listened at the door! What if someone got stuck in there? They crouched down to the ancient key hole. They could hear murmuring.
Liam raised his right eyebrow.
Colin raised his left eyebrow.
They both smirked. This could be interesting! Who would be crazy enough to lock themselves into the abandoned toilets in the middle of the night!? Whoever it was out hours after curfew couldn't possibly be up to any good!
Colin listened at the key hole again. There were definitely voices coming from within! At least two! "We could help them," whispered Colin.
"We could get a prefect," whispered Liam.
Both boys had bright green eyes. They locked on one another. Clearly two brilliant first year minds were thinking alike!
Colin smirked.
Liam smirked.
"We can do this!" Colin whispered.
"Aye, laddie! We know the spell!" Liam whispered.
As one, the twins nodded and got their wands from their kilt pockets.
They aimed their wands towards the bathroom door! As one they cast their spells: "ABERTO!" Blue light shot from the ends of their wands towards the door! They heard at the exact same time someone inside the toilets casting the same spell! And the once stuck door was blasted open! For a moment, only dust filled the doorway. Colin looked in, trying to see who had cast the spell. Liam pushed him aside to get a better look too!
"Oi! Stop pushing!"
"Well, ye're in me way!"
"Whisht Liam, I'm trying to see who's in there!"
"Whisht yerself Cailean! I'm trying to see too!"
Eventually, both boys jostled themselves into the door frame. The dust cleared and the toilets could be clearly seen. They looked at each other! There were indeed two people inside! And one of them was a Slytherin! Both boys had been keeping careful lists of all the prefects --- for handy reference purposes only of course! Liam whispered: "Aw, crap, Cailean! She's a prefect! One of yours!"
Colin's focus was on the other figure. The one who had cast the spell from inside. "KIM! That was brilliant! I heard you casting the same spell we did! But! I didn't know it was you! All at the same time! Wait. What are you doing in here!? With a PREFECT!? Miss Prefect Evans! Where's Sophia? Is she in here too? Wh---" Colin stopped short. He noticed the battered satchel. His eyes could see all the freshly cleaned spots around one of the stalls and on the floor. Sus. He glanced at Liam, then turned back to Kim. "What are you two up to in here anyway?"

- Monica curled herself on the floor, at this point maybe all that would happen is a professor would stroll by, find the pair in the middle of some prank, and Monica would be removed from her Prefect duties. Perfect!
Just perfect! As if her life wasn't stressful enough, now the one thing that made her feel like.... well less of a screw up, would be taken away from this little screw up.
But all hope seemed to not be lost, at least it seemed that way as Kim spoke. Monica stood up, "Spell....wh-? For...." Monica could barely find her words, she tried thinking back to the lesson Kim was talking about, but her mind was just blank. Before she could react to anything else the boy went ahead casting the spell.
The flash must had brought the Prefect back to her senses, because she registered Kim's words, her role, grab the prank gear! This was important, she couldn't leave behind anything, now her only wish was to finish this without getting caught..... (Of course she was going to go through with the prank, it was a fabulous idea! Plus though Monica tried to be this proper Prefect, there was that side of her that just liked to cause chaos.)
It seemed odd though, that spell seemed..... bigger, than her expectation, then a voice came from the doorway. Monica peaked her head around to see a pair of boys standing adjacent to Kim.
Wonderful.... it's Colin, Monica thought. He would never let her live this down if he saw her trying to pull a prank..... She quickly pulled the items in her hand around her back, hoping she hid it in enough time, just as the boy questioned their reasoning for being there.... "Well McCoire if you must know.... I was simply giving Kim a hand with.... a personal project, and I wasn't informed that this door, shouldn't be closed all the way." Her voice was trying so hard to remain proper. She eyed at Kim, hoping he would play along, but in all fairness she might be outted for being just as much a part of this prank.
She took a deep breath, well if that were to happen, maybe it wouldn't get to any professors at least.

| ─── | It all happened simultaneously for both parties.
There was an 'explosion' from both sides of the stuck door, which ended with the door almost blasted to bits. Thankfully, the door was more sturdy than most students probably gave it credit for, and it remained all in one piece. But the good news was that it was now open and they could escape and carry on the prank. The bad news was who was behind the dust that had sprung up from the double spells. If it was a prefect, caretaker, staff member, or teacher... well, they'd probably get into trouble. If it was anyone else, Kim was sure he could figure a way to weasel out of this. As the dust cleared, a familiar couple of faces could be seen. "Ah! It's the Irish twins!" Kim exclaimed, his lips curling upward into a smirk. He knew they weren't Irish but it was a running joke between him and Colin. Colin expressed his excitement about what had just gone on and continued to blabber like he always tended to do. Although Kim seemed as if he disapproved of this, he actually was quite fond of how Colin was. And with Liam with him... well, those two always tended to get into trouble. Just like him. But slightly different, as there were two troublemakers instead of just himself. Colin took the time to take a breath. This was usually the time Kim took to reply to the rapid-fire questions but he wasn't fast enough this time. Because Colin started to talk again, this time asking what he was doing inside. On the other hand, Monica spoke up and Kim glanced over at her as she took the opportunity to explain herself and the situation. It was pretty much the truth, albeit a few missed details. But it was good enough! If Colin and Liam couldn't figure out what they were up to, from looking at them and the area, he wasn't going to elaborate. Kim also didn't want Monica to get into any trouble. "Mm. That's right." He agreed with Monica, who was standing there. "It did come as a surprise when I heard the same spell being cast from the outside when I cast it too. I wondered who it might be but didn't think it would be you two!" Kim admitted. "As for what I'm doing inside, it's just like what Monica told you. She was helping me out on a personal project of mine and didn't realize this particular door is always left propped open because it gets stuck when it closes all the way." He reached up and ran a hand through his soft hair. Time was running out. Kim had to wrap things up before someone else noticed their presence and before the stairs changed. "Sophia's probably in bed already, we talked earlier before this. She's been focusing more on her studies lately." Kim added and glanced back over his shoulder at Monica. "So, let's finish up the project quick, so we can get to bed too!" He told her and looked over at the twins again. "We should meet up sometime tomorrow and do something fun together." Kim said with a smirk and then headed off down the hallway, hoping Monica would follow behind him. After all, she was carrying the prank. |
