There was one good thing about the Abandoned Toilets that Daniel liked, and that was simply for the fact that there were bugs. Daniel, being a boy, and equally being interested in all things slimy and scaly, enjoyed traversing the small area where the bugs seemed to lurk during the winter months. He could still see his breath as he entered the toilets. It was cold, but not as cold. This part of the castle didn't oft stay warm. The more populated areas of the castle kept children warm, but the abandoned parts? It didn't seem to matter. Daniel didn't care.

There were no candles, so he had brought his own. He wasn't sure who or where he had secured them from, but that wasn't a concern for him. He set a few on the edges of the sink, one in the windowsill and several spread along the floor. As he moved, he quietly cast Incendio on each candle that he placed. Little sparks of fire grew to light the room, and Daniel stepped back. His eyes adjusted from the gloomy darkness that had started to set through the pane of glass and into the abandoned toilets. There'd be enough time before bed to hang out, he thought.

He retrieved his bag, previously discarded by the entrance of the toilets. Inside, charmed by his father, he pulled out a rather large book about bugs, reptiles and other slimy creatures. He settled himself quietly besides one of the candles set on the floor, crossed his legs and set the book on his lap. Previously, he had gone through and marked the pages. It was a book he had found in the library, but wished he could find in Flourish and Blott's; he'd have to look. An Encyclopedia of Scottish Reptiles, Bugs and Critters was definitely becoming one of his favorite reads.

Settled and lost in his book, he doubted anyone would come bother him. Listening to the silence, he could hear the quiet scratches of bugs' legs against the stone floor, attractions towards the bright lights that flickered from the flames of each and every candle he had set.

The sun hung low in the sky. It was her favorite kind of orange. The kind where the sun was almost down and it was just a soft glow, like a fire that was about to go out. The light was dim in the abandoned bathroom though,  it was only a faint gleam from where she stood. Frost wouldn't have just come without a reason, not to a place that not many enjoyed being in. It was called abandoned toilets for a reason after all.

In her delicate hand was a shallow glass jar with the lid off of it. Of course she couldn't put a lid over it, the beetle would probably suffocate, and she could not let that happen to any living creature. Even if other people usually didn't like bugs. The little guy was in the corridor when she found him. The redhead didn't think she had scurried so fast before, not as fast as she had when she went to get the jar in the first place. Where would be the best place to put a delicate bug? At first, Frost thought to go to the grounds, but that was all the way down the stairs. Too much time to get there.

But the abandoned toilets, she knew that it was like bug city in there. Now, a boy had come in and lit candles, illuminating the dim room just a bit more. Enough for her to see a bit better. Observing him, her eyes moved with him as he sat down and pulled a book out of his bag. What was he doing? Perhaps he wanted quiet for reading or maybe he wanted to get away from something? The silence in the room was oddly reminding her of all the bugs around her, just crawling around.

Taps of her shoes broke the quiet as she made her way over to the nameless boy. "Sorry to bother you but, what are you doing?" The girl's eyebrows raised in a curious manner. In the jar, the little bug friend roamed around. She would have to let him down soon enough, though she did contemplate having him as a pet. But that was just silly- she had to let him go be with other bugs. It was just the best thing to do.
