It was the middle of the third week of school. Things were going pretty well, he would say. Apart from the home sickness and all of the confusion from talking paintings, and moving stairs. He loved learning about magic, and spells, and the history of this new world he was in. It made him feel kinda like one of the characters in the comics he loved to read. It was all so unreal to him, and he felt as though that he was at a disadvantage then the people who had wizard and witch parents. There was so many things that shocked him, that the people who grew up with it thought of it as another day.
It sucked, but it helped him to see the kids in his classes trying to cast a spell. And then them failing it. It was that nice reminder that they were all learning how to cast it just the same. Even when he did not know what Hogsmead was. (still did not know all that well) They were mostly the same with spellcasting experience. Once his classes had ended that day, Alex looked outside on to the grounds when he was making his way back to the common room. He saw that it was an amazingly sunny day. He smiled to himself and went straight to his dorm room. Were he dumped all of the contents of his bag onto his bed, and swapped them with some of his comics. Just grabbing a few random ones.
With the bag now filled with some much more favorable books in his eyes, he rushed out of the red common room and to the grounds. They were quite big, and grassy, with quite a few trees that would provide a nice amount of shade. There was also the forest, that he was told to not go in, as it was quite dangerous. He ignored the forest, not wanting to get in any trouble at all. And walked the grounds looking for the prefect place for reading.
It did not take him long at all to find the perfect place, it was a large oak tree, that gave a lot of shade. Shealing him from the sun. There was not much shealing needed however as the clouds had that covered. As he took a seat down in the soft grass he pulled out his comics to see what he had grabbed. As he did not pay much attention when he did. Looking at them he had the first three volumes of superior spider man, the first two of Ms. Marvel, and the first volume of trinity. These were all great comics, and as he liked them in trade paperback. He smiled to himself. They reminded him of home, and he liked that. He picked up Trinity and started to read.

Today had been an unusually good day for Renelle Dalton.
As she strolled through the Hogwarts grounds, an uncharacteristically large smile on her face, the Ravenclaw couldn’t help but feel like jumping up and down, whooping. Thankfully, she managed to refrain herself, or else that might’ve drawn a lot of weird looks, the last thing she particularly wanted.
Still, nothing could ruin Renelle’s good mood, what with the delightful delivery that had come that morning during breakfast- her hand strayed toward her pocket, where a round lump was visible. She’d just been eating like always, when an owl had dropped a familiar small glittery pink box into her bowl of cereal , along with a rolled-up letter onto her bacon.
After fishing everything out excitedly - she didn’t even try to hit the stupid owl with a doughnut, that was how focused the girl had been- she’d tore open the box, to be met with a ball of quicker pink fur, terrified by its trip to the castle.
Digging inside her pocket, Renelle slowly pulled the ball of pink fur out. Jeff the Pygmy puff was still rather traumatized from his earlier swim in milk, which was why he had been acting a bit jumpy the whole day. Thankfully, after an entire day, he’d seemed to have recovered mostly.
Having arrived so little time ago, nobody apart from Renelle herself even knew of his existence yet- for one, she couldn’t be entirely sure if they were allowed in Hogwarts, so she certainly wasn’t going to be parading around with him; and with her best friend Astra being in another house, they’d sadly hadn’t had any lessons together that day. She was planning to show Jeff to Astra sometime soon though, most likely the next time they met.
The dark-haired girl was so immersed in her thoughts, she hadn’t even noticed Jeff squirming around in her hands the past few minutes, as if desperate to stretch his little legs after being cooped up in a tiny dark pocket for so long, and now getting suffocated by the his owner.
That was why when Jeff finally made his long-anticipated escape, Renelle was not prepared at all- with a high-pitched squeak, he jumped to the side like some sort of Super Pygmy Puff. And, naturally, having just achieved jailbreak, he was not looking where he was going, and, naturally, jumped onto the face of a person who just so happened to have the bad luck to be sitting not far from them- a dark haired boy who appeared to have been reading some kind of book, at least before he was interrupted by dear Jeff.
As this all happened, Renelle was staring at him, unmoving, in some sort of horrified fascination, not unlike watching a car crash or a glass shatter. Oh, god.Interacting with @Alexander Mason

As he sat there and read he felt the breeze in his hair, he bushed it behind his ear, as it was getting blown into his face and he was trying to read. It was hard to read with hair in your face. He got back to reading with that distraction now out of the way, As he read he could not help but admire the panels, how they were placed on the page, and the art. It was so amazing. It made him feel like they were real people, and that these were real stories, of there adventures. Even if he knew that they were not, and that this was only fiction. But then again, he thought magic was make believe once. So who knew. They could be wizards.
Alex was reading, enjoying his thoughts, and the story. When something small, round and pink obscured his vision, by jumping on his face. He could not help but yelp out. As it was unexpected. He quickly grabbed it in his hands. And lightly tossed it on the grass. It was unlike anything he had seen before, round, pink, fluffy, it kinda looked like a cutter rat. He was so confused. And shocked. Could this be someones weird looking pet? A stuffed animal? No, it was moving around. So not a stuffed animal.
Alex looked around, to see if this, this thing. Could belong to anyone, It did not take long for him to take sight of someone who was looking at him and the animal horrified. Yes, it had to be hers. "Hey you!" He called out to the girl. Not taking his eyes off the pink ball. Unsure if it was dangerous or not. "Is that yours? Whatever it is?" He asked, still not taking his eyes off of it. Was it dangerous? Was he going to get really sick from making contact with it? There was no way for him to know. As this was his first time seeing something like this.
If he needed to be honest it was pretty cute. He just had no idea what it was, so panic and fear was his first thought. After all the stuff he has heard from other students as well as his textbooks, in terms of monsters, and creatures right out of a scarry movie. Why should he treat every unknown animal with a seance of 'oh well your to cute to be deadly' That was mistake number one in any movie. He took his eyes off of it for a split second to look at the girl. "Well? Is it yours?" He asked, and returned his eyes to the fluff.

Rnelle wasn’t sure if this sort of thing was everyday for a Pygmy puff owner- their pet attacking random students out of the blue, having just gained the title for less than a day. If it was, though, she was going to have to file some sort of complaint toward Magical Meangerie for not having received the warning beforehand; this sort of thing was a real dealbreaker.
Breaking out of her horrified stupor, she rushed toward the scene of the crime. Thankfully, the boy who had been the victim of Jeff did not appear to be freaking out, running out screaming his head off, attempting to stomp on his attacker, or anything of the sort. That slightly reassured her. Grabbing the poor Pygmy puff in his hands, he threw him onto the grass- not very hard, yet Renelle still winced, quickly making her way to where Jeff lay.
“Um, yeah, it’s mine.” Picking him up carefully, the Ravenclaw closely inspected her beloved pet for any signs of damage. Luckily, none were found, but she still felt a rush of annoyance at the boy for flinging him away so impetuously. Like, sure, Jeff had practically attacked him, but Pygmy puffs were very delicate, and she had no interest in setting some sort of record for how long a pet was in an owner’s possession before they suffered a horrendous incident. “Sorry for him…. Jumping on your face and all.”
She turned to the boy, opening her mouth to tell him this, but then suddenly closed it, something he just said suddenly having registered. “Well, it’s a Pygmy puff, obviously.” Frowning slightly, she peered closer at him. “You know what they are, right?”
In the girl’s opinion, it was really quite obvious- what else could Jeff be, a moving, squeaking, pink fluffy ball? The infamous Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes had bought this species into the spotlight several decades prior, and their popularity had not waned in the slightest. To this day, she had not met anyone who was ignorant in the knowledge of these little colourful, squeaking balls.
In her skepticism, Renelle had completely failed to remember the fact that Hogwarts housed a large portion of Muggle-born students, most of whom had had no previous experience or interaction with the Wizarding world; most likely coming across as insensitive and blunt, though it was far from her intention to do so. And she probably wouldn’t, either, unless the boy reminded her.Interacting with @Alexander Mason
