Preptober Prompts 2023 (Week One Extra Prompt)
Prompt #4: Wheel of Fortune wc: 266/250
Fifteen year old Emeline has just lost her friends of many years. They were always together at school but now they have ghosted her and are ignoring her. Emeline doesn’t know what to do, things are much more difficult now that she’s by herself. After a while of being alone, trying to get her old friends back, she gives up on it, deciding that it’s no use and she doesn’t want them anymore. She goes out and tries to find new friends, people who will actually treat her right. Emeline finds it much harder than she thought it would be to make friends, since everybody already has them. She doesn’t quit though, since she knew what it was like to be alone, and didn’t want to feel that again. Her first tactic was just trying to be around people some more, hoping that someone would take her in. After a few weeks of her plan failing, she moves onto another tactic. Emeline takes all the courage to go up to a group of girls and ask them is she can stay with them. When the idea of it first comes to her head, she believes it’s great, but then also realizes just how scary that could be for her, a girl with no friends. Either way, Emeline does it anyways, and to her relief, they say yes. She starts to hang out with them more, go places with them, and talk together during school. Things seem to be going better for Emeline after she does this, and meets new people that she wasn’t talking to before.
