Natural Enemy... or Friend? PV Finished

Sonya smiled a bit at Anastasia's last statement. It sounded like she was nicer than her family and not as uptight as she was first presumed to be. "Well, what's the fun in prim and proper?" she joked as she tucked a lock of hair behind her ear. She was glad that her first impressions were wrong. She found that Anastasia was actually a pretty nice person and Sonya could see herself hanging out with her a bit. They didn't seem to have the most similarities, but she saw nothing, besides maybe being friends with people Anastasia looked down upon, that would make them enemies. She was hoping to keep it that way.

Sonya was always quite the people pleaser and disliked when she had negative relationships with people. It just made her feel so awful. She hoped she'd remain friendly with all the people she met at Hogwarts, but deep down she knew that wouldn't be possible with all her relationships. A few people at this school had vastly different views than her and that would eventually lead to discrepancies. She had yet to meet any particularly nasty people, but it was bound to happen at some point.

She looked back up at Anastasia and couldn't think of much else to say. They had covered lots of get to know you topics and Sonya didn't want to bore her. Anastasia probably had lots of things to do, as did Sonya. She could feel the conversation coming to a close. "It was nice to meet you Anastasia but I better get going. I have to keep on top of my homework," she let out a giggle and held her hand out for a final handshake.

Anastasia had formed a preliminary fairly positive opinion of Sonya. She wasn't completely certain yet since they'd just met, but she thought that maybe the two of them could be something like friends in the future. The Gryffindor was pleased with that prospect, seeing as she had already irritated a good number of people in her few months at school. She didn't have a problem with irritating annoying people just by being herself, but it was going to cause problems if she was enemies with the entire school by the end of her first year. 

The girl seemed nice, which was a good thing since Anastasia was known to be a bit abrasive at times. Obvioudly, the two of them had just met, but Anastasia felt better than she had leaving the last few people she'd met. That was progress. Anyway, her family couldn't completely disapprove since Soyna was trained in singing and dancing. The Becketts placed a lot of value in things like that. They would think higher of a half-blood who came from a wealthy family and was a dancer than a pureblood who came from a poor family. They were strange like that. They supposedly valued blood and purity so much, but Anastasia was beginning to suspect that money played more of a factor than her parents wanted to let on.

"Likewise," Anastasia said, shaking the Hufflepuff's extended hand. "I must be going to help out with something, but I do hope to see you around." Anastasia turned and tossed her long dark hair and began the trek back to the castle.
