Mary McCrary,
How's school? I haven't heard from you yet, so I've been starting to worry. Have you planted the seeds I packed for you? Oh dear, I hope you haven't smashed the pots. I wasn't sure if they'd have a garden for you to play with, so I just wanted to be sure. Oh Phoebe, I'm so sorry I couldn't take you home for Christmas. I'll make it up to you, I promise. You know how work is, right? I hope you understand.
Have a wonderful time,
-Auntie Eva

Dear Auntie,
School is doing fine for the most part. You know how I struggle with history, so of course I'm still lacking in those subjects. Don't worry, I'll pull it together. You know I always do.
I've been lonely without you, auntie. Nobody here comforts me like you do. That's why I've been feeling more nervous. I'm worried about drawing attention from other students because of that.
I haven't smashed the pots. I've planted the seeds safely by my dorm room window. Also, don't worry about Christmas or New Year's. I'm sure it'll affect you more than I.
Pretty soon it's going to be mom and dad's anniversary. Let's pray for each other.
Love, Phoebe

Mary McCrary,
For once you haven't told me off for using your middle name instead of your last! I'd say that's a win for me. And dearie, I'm so sorry to hear that you're not doing too well. I will definitely pray for you.
I miss them, too. Ever since the day they were paralyzed it's been hard on the both of us. Don't worry, I'm planning on visiting them with you during the Easter holidays. It'll be nice. I'll make them lemon squares and chocolate bunnies, and you'll share with them. I know it'll be hard on you, but we still need to support them. I am certain they will recover eventually. We just need to be there for them.
Love Always,
-Auntie Eva

Auntie,
I've completely given up on trying to make you stop calling me that. You're way too persistent.
I've actually been feeling better since I sent my last letter. My nervousness has started to wear down. I've managed to make a few friends, and they seem to be really nice. I really hope I can maintain my friendships.
Regarding ma and da... I don't really want to visit them for Easter. I just... I don't think I can bear it.
Love, Phoebe

Phoebe,
Why do you not want to see them? We need to be supportive. It is our job to protect them and help them. I can't have you miss out because it makes you uncomfortable. They're still alive, aren't they? You shouldn't be so rude to your parents. Don't be ungrateful.

Auntie,
I know that's what you believe, and I wish I could believe that, too, but as ungrateful or rude as it sounds, I know they're dead. Why don't you? I'm sorry to tell you in such a manner, but both of them are gone. The dementors got to them, auntie. They aren't coming back. I've tried to tell you before, but you never listened. Listen to me this time: I can't stand to see their empty eyes again. I just can't. Every time I look at them I'm reminded of your psychotic belief that they'll get better, that one day they'll look at us and smile. That their cold eyes will find warmth. They won't.
No, I'm not visiting them over Easter break, and I'm not visiting them over summer break, either. I've mourned their loss. Now it's your turn.

Phoebe,
I've put so much thought into it, and you're right. It's time to let them go. I think deep down, I knew they were gone all along. I've given you pain, and I apologize. I'll take care of this. Don't worry anymore, my Bonnie.
I'll see you during summer break.

Phoebe,
I never received a reply for my last message, but that's alright. I have something else to tell you now that break has ended. I didn't want to tell you over break because I wanted you to have a good Christmas and New Year's. Now that it's passed, I need to tell you something. Please don't hate me. Please don't blame me for what I'm about to tell you.
Your parents were found dead in their hospital beds. They were completely slaughtered, left without a beating heart. I'm so sorry.
Their funeral was last Thursday. They had a proper burial, too. I'm sorry you didn't get to go. I just couldn't allow myelf to let you see them like that. Please, please, please understand me. I'm sorry you had to find out this way, but I just couldn't face you.
Please forgive me,
-Auntie Eva

Phoebe,
Please reply. I'm sorry, okay? You know I love you, right? You know I would never try to hurt you, right? You know if I could bring them back, I would, right? You don't blame me for their death, right? Please write me back. Please. I beg of you.
