Short Time No See
She really pushed this 'not short' agenda on him, didn't she? He looked at her sternly, not moving at all. He just stared at her with his eyes locked on her like some kind of a target. She subtly demanded him to drop the issue, at least that was what he felt like. But oh, how the boy loved Newton's 3rd law of motion. For every equal, there was the same kind of opposition. As long as she'd press it, he'd press it too! Now that she had challenged him in this small competition, he had no intention of losing.
"Christmas break? What are you waiting for, lamebrain? It'll only get worse, the pain. We're going to get that checked," there was some type of hesitation in his voice. She really seemed to be against doing something about her wrist. Maybe she had some kind of a trauma when it came to nurses? Well, the brunette would have to simply throw that out of the window, wouldn't she? She scolded him and he impatiently waited for her to be over with her lecture. Yes yes, he knew what he had done wrong. Now they had more important things to do!
"Never mind the books, we're going - to - ack," he tried to reach the collar of her clothes to drag her with him. His hand was once again maybe an inch too short for that. It was like watching a toddler try to reach for some sweets, or maybe a cat trying to reach their favorite toy.
"Come on dim-wit, we have places to go," he growled once again.

Why was he staring at her like she was a target. Did she do something wrong again? Not to her knowledge so she just stared back at him not moving from her position. Why were they even staring at each other? "Why do you keep calling me names? It's not going to get worse. It's just a bruise." Again she tried to persuade him to not make her go get her wrist checked out. She didn't like hospitals or anything related. She still had memories of that night stuck in the forest. Hospitals only reminded her of the aftermath of that day.
When he reached out to grab her collar she stepped back so he couldn't reach her. Maybe if she took a step back she could walk away from him. He couldn't run with all those books in his arms and it made for an easy escape. "I still don't want to go. I could run and you wouldn't be able to catch me cause of all of those books." She pointed out. Though she should just go with him. Her wrist could be injured more than she thought it was. "Not that I would though. Let's go." Eri nudged him and took a step in the wrong direction on purpose. If he was smart he would know that was not the right direction and she had a mischievous look in her eyes.

They stared at each other, both not moving like statues for a while. Remy felt like he was in one of those wild west movies. Just before the shoot-off, when both of the opponents just stared at each other intensely. He'd call her names as long as she kept resisting his assistance. For once, he did offer some and she had the audacity to reject him. Oh, I'll get ya for sure, he thought, finally moving after their little staredown. He suspected that she really just did not like hospitals. Remy didn't like the sterile smell and being surrounded by people that looked like corpses either. Who would? He'd much rather be prancing out and about, doing bad cartwheels and splashing in the water.
She assumed that he just wasn't going to drop the books and get killed by the librarian later. Remy would do something like that, he really disliked losing. Failing to grab her collar, he just shot some looks with hidden daggers in them. Why couldn't she just bear the pain for a minute? This dim-witted, stubborn girl! Stopping his attempts, he let out a loud 'Hmph' as he lost to her stubbornness. He thought so for a second until she suddenly changed her mind. Wondering what could have caused such a quick turn of her opinion. Perhaps he had managed to beat some sense into her with all the namecalling. He made a mental note to continue that the next time he'd see her do something dumb.
"Oh really? I'd totally race you even with these books if you weren't such a klutz. Don't you dare run now though," he defended himself with a lame comeback. Remy didn't even notice where they were going, nor did he question her. After all, a second-year would know better than him how things worked and where everything was in here. After a while, he did get a bit of a strange feeling. Looking at her face for some kind of confirmation that this truly was the direction they were supposed to head to, he raised his brow and subtly tilted his head in a questioning way.

He was the first to move, but she hadn't found someone who could put stubborn her stubborness. Shaking her head she let a small sigh come from her lips. "For once can you just stop calling me names. And if I want to run I would run, but I don't want to at this moment." So far he was trying to defend himself from her race comment. How funny. He claimed to be able to run with the book she in his arms but he didn't want to race her since she was a klutz. He was the one who ran into her.
Eri frowned when he raised his brow at her and she stopped. "It's the other direction. Yes I went this way on purpose I'm not dumb." She states the last sentence because she didn't want him to call her dumb. Then she started walking in the correct direction. Turns out he didn't know the way, but maybe he had a feeling she was still trying to get out of it. Why was she so stubborn? And why did he have to be more stubborn? He seemed to be able to get her to give up. To her it seems like he would have nagged all day just to get her to go to the hospital wing

It was like watching two rams ram into each other. One would call the other stubborn while being just as stubborn himself. Another one would refuse and confuse, only adding more fuel. It was a dysfunctional duo, the two of them. As she sighed, his face might have changed a bit. It was funny, how she got ticked off by him. He enjoyed her subtle but still visible reactions. She was asking for him to stop calling her names. He decided to obey for now since she too had listened to his request.
She told him that she wouldn't race him because she did not want to. She told him that they were going in the wrong direction, on purpose! Girls, such enigmatic creatures... A code that could never be cracked. An equation that had no answer. He too started feeling suspicious. Was she lost too? Were they and their books and sprained wrists going to venture left and right like this? He amused himself with that idea. At least she got more time to get to know him, for he was such an interesting person. In all seriousness, he huffed very faintly.
"If we're lost, just tell me and we can stop walking in circles," he gave out another free grin, bumping her side very lightly and playfully with his elbow.

"We are not lost. I was just trying to leave." Eri walked towards the right direction. Her steps became faster and faster since she wanted to get this over with right now. "Can you hurry? The sooner we get there the sooner I can get this over with. I don't even like hospital wing." Eri glanced behind to look at him before looking back to the hallway in front of her. They made a left and started walking straight. Why did she have to meet someone who could was more stubborn than she was? It was a pain because she couldn't win any of the arguments.
"Tell me something it's getting quiet and very boring." The brunette said trying to get some conversation up and she had abandoned all hope of getting out of going to the hospital wing. Though she had one more option. She could make a run for it and he would be weighted down with books an drew would be to slow to follow her. When she looked back there was another look of mischief in her eyes. She was going to start running soon but maybe this was useless. He was obviously stronger than her and could probably drag her with him.

She insisted on not being lost and revealed her escape plans basically right there right then. They turned around to face the right direction, and even the boy that usually wore a flat expression on his face looked confuse. She was almost as enigmatic as the maze named Hogwarts corridors. She admitted into not liking the hospital wing, and he wrinkled his nose like a twitching bunny at the thought of the sterile smell. She told him to hurry up and he tried making his strides a bit longer.
She told him to tell something, and Remy Alto being the usual Remy Alto he is, just couldn't resist being the smartypants this time. "Something," he answered quite literally, a very stupid and small grin appearing on his face. He did become more serious in the matter of seconds though, knowing that no one would appreciate such a dumb joke as his. Remy thought for a second, what should he say? What did she want to hear about him? Well, she didn't ask specifically about him, but he'd love to boast about himself. People usually liked to talk about themselves a lot, and Remy was not an exception.
"Whaddya wanna hear?" he said, catching up to her speed.

Eri shook her head at the dumb joke. Though it was about funny. "Umm I don't know. What do you like to do?" Eri said slowing her pace once he caught up. Maybe she was over stressing this. Hospitals were there to help not there to hurt you she needed to get over it.
The brunette wondered why he insisted on carrying all those books all the way to the hospital wing. They looked heavy and she was pretty sure he was way stronger than she was. That was why he could carry all those books. He had a bunch of interesting books. Maybe he was just erring them to read for fun. Though he wasn't someone she pictured as a reader but some things surprise people.
Eri's wrist hurt, but she didn't care anymore. Until it was fine again she couldn't draw. The wrist she hurt was her dominant wrist. "Do you play any sports?" Eri asked him. Maybe he played some sports. She used to be a gymnast and did cross country and swim team. Though she didn't really see herself as an athlete cause those were only things she did during the summer to pass the time.

She shook her head and he nodded to defy her once more. What did he like to do for fun? It didn't take him too long to find an answer. He was the type of person who wasn't too crazy about many things, but once he found something he liked, he completely drenched himself in it.
"I like music. A lot. I want to make a living out of it. I'm good at coming up with lyrics and composing songs I guess," he thought of what else did he like. There were really a few options that would entertain him when he had free time.
He didn't want to give out more information. Nothing came for free, right? Besides, if your opponent knew too much about you, it would turn into a weakness. The thought of knowing that someone was aware of your weaknesses made him a bit anxious. Besides, writing poems (he had disguised it as 'writing lyric's) was kinda embarrassing in his opinion! Just as he was about to ask if she liked to do something else than drawing as he had observed earlier, she asked him if he played any sports.
"I like to play football, if you call it soccer I'll kill you," his words were threatening, but his face and tone were soft enough for it to not even feel like a threat! He raised his brows in a way to ask if she was interested in anything else than drawing portraits.

Eri nodded. Music. She used to play guitar and sing. Though she didn't like to tell people that. "That's cool. I like music too." There were times when her brothers used to play music in the backyard while she sang. They had mini concerts for their aunt and her friends. Those were the good times.
Now she wanted to call it Soccer just to annoy him. "I played soccer...I mean football when I was younger." He raised his brow as if to ask if Shen did anything other than drawing. "I sing. I used to do cross country and swim team." The brunette said. They took a right then continued to keep walking straight. Eri walked in silence for a few moments and looked at her wrist it had swollen a little bit since she had first checked on it. It was probably fine she didn't need to worry. She had her green emerald necklace around her neck again and it still glimmered in the light from the torches on the walls. At least he wasnt bragging. He didn't seem like he would brag, but she also just met him not long ago so she shouldn't make conclusions right now.
