She smiled, still spinning and singing around the other girl, who was still smiling.

She stared for a few seconds then put her heels back on the floor and smiled at her. "That was fun. Wow." she said slightly out of breath from dancing and singing at the same time. "You're amazing at playing the viola, by the way." she said softly. "Um, if it's okay with you, can I play the piano? I wanted to practice this one song......I'll be singing to it, but it's in Korean, but I can translate it into English if you'd like, I know the words in both languages." she asked, her head tilted to the side.

As the song ended Elena felt almost upset at the idea of it being over, but then Min-seo offered to play her a song on the piano, and how could the blue haired girl resist an offer like that? The answer was she definitely couldn't, Min-seo was too good a singer. Also, Elena thought that the piano was a beautiful instrument, and if she was as good as she assumed the girl must be, then it would be lovely to listen to.

"Your singing was beautiful." Elena looked at Min-seo, her eyes sparkling, "Thank you! I've been playing it for a while, I'd hope I'm good."

"I'd love to hear you play. I don't mind what language it's in, as long as you have fun singing it." Elena dragged over a comfy chair and curled up in it, she looked like a cat, all odd angles and curious eyes. Far from the scared girl that had faced Min-seo on the train, or the angry trickster that Aurelia had met. More like the free careful girl that Hugh and Alan had gotten to see. This day couldn't get much better, it was just way too perfect. Nothing good lasted forever, but maybe this could last longer.

"Your singing was beautiful." Elena looked at Min-seo, her eyes sparkling."

She blushed and smiled and sat down on the piano seat. "Is it? I never thought it was great, I just thought I just wasn't tone deaf." she said. She flared out her skirt on the seat so it didn't get wrinkled. She took a deep breath. "Here we go," she said quietly. She began to play the piano. "유난히 내겐

Elena got lost in the song, and watched as Min-seo's hands danced along the keys of the piano. It was beautiful. When the song finished it took a couple of seconds to come back to reality.

"Wow..." Elena breathed, "That was beautiful."

She smiled at Min, "So, what do you want to do now, we could play some more music, or we could go and eat or if you want we could just sit and talk."

Elena was starting to understand the first song they'd played, there was absolutely nowhere she'd rather be than right here, talking to Min-seo until curfew fell and the prefects started roaming the halls. Then they could go back to the common room and talk some more, being in the same house certainly had its perks, especially when it came to being able to talk.

There was nothing nicer than being able to get up at three in the morning only to find a bunch of other insomniacs already sitting around the fire eating milk and cookies. Maybe Min would join them one day, that would be nice, she would definitely like a familiar face, most of her fellow insomniacs were third year or above. So someone she actually knew would be great.

(She wasn't done but it's okay, I'll just pretend she finished)

Min-seo sighed as she finished playing the last note.

"Wow..." Elena breathed, "That was beautiful."

She jumped and leaned back, surprised, just to realize there was no back and fell. She winced and the rest of her body slid off of the piano. "Ow..." she whispered, rubbing her head. She sat up and looked at Elena with a sheepish smile. "I always seem to hurt myself in some weird way. And thanks." she said, blushing from embarrassment.

"So, what do you want to do now, we could play some more music, or we could go and eat or if you want we could just sit and talk."

Min-seo tapped her chin in thought. What did she want to do? Well, she didn't really know. There was a lot to do. She wasn't the best at making decisions. She laid back on the floor. She just laid there. "I'm going to be weird as heck, and lay on the floor for a bit, feel free to join me, I guess we could talk. Besides that, I'm not sure what to do, El." she sighed, looking up at the ceiling.

Elena nodded and sort of creatively fell off her chair to lie next to Min-seo, "I manage to hurt myself all the time, I'm just really good at pretending I don't. I managed to trip up the stairs twice today, but I just kept walking, I don't think the other students even noticed."

"So, what are you going to do over the break then? It'll be fun, I'm thinking of getting a hair cut and a bit more clothes. Going for that punk look, it's going to be great." Elena smiled up at the ceiling, the storm was getting a bit closer and thunder could be heard a little ways off in the distance.

Storms had always eased Elena's mind, the lightning had always been something that reminded her of herself, it was nice to see something like that. Something that would always be free, uncontrollable, it did what it wanted without being subject to the rules of the world. Also, storms were just really calming, it was some science about the amount of negative ions in the air, she'd have to look that up over break. Surely some library would remember to stock books on something like that, it was certainly interesting.

Min-seo giggled as Elena "fell" off the chair.

"I manage to hurt myself all the time, I'm just really good at pretending I don't. I managed to trip up the stairs twice today, but I just kept walking, I don't think the other students even noticed."

Min-seo nodded.
"Here's the problem, my falls are usually the MOST OBVIOUS THINGS IN THE WORLD." she said, laughing a bit. She linked her pinky finger with Elena's in a friendly way with a smile. She did this with her brother sometimes.

"So, what are you going to do over the break then? It'll be fun, I'm thinking of getting a hair cut and a bit more clothes. Going for that punk look, it's going to be great."

Min-seo gasped and clapped her hands. "That would be so cool! I probably couldn't pull it off, maybe if you put dark lipstick on me and heavy eyeliner, but probably not. You would look so good like that! I mean, you already do, but that would be really cool." she said with a big smile. "And what I'm going to do? Well, I'm going to be with my Godfather and brother, which will be fun, and then I'll get to see you!" she said with a smile.

Elena smiled at Min-seo, "Well, that's fair. I used to think people would fall off things because they were too busy thinking about something else. I find it hard not to focus on anything though, you might see me doing something else in classes. That's usually because it's just hard to concentrate on what the teacher is saying, my mind starts to wander if I don't do something else too."

She almost felt relieved when Min-seo said she'd look good in punk clothes. To be honest she was a little bit worried it might scare her, she seemed so sweet, and rock was sort of the opposite of Min-seo's personality, "I'm sure you could pull off some eyeliner. I'm going to get lots of black eyeliner, can't run out too quickly, if you have an aesthetic, then you've got to keep it going right?"

Elena looked to be in thought for a moment, "Hey, uh, what kind of thing would you want for Christmas, I um, I don't really know what to get you. I thought maybe a little book to put your photos in but I don't know if you already have one of those, so I wanted to ask.

"Well, that's fair. I used to think people would fall off things because they were too busy thinking about something else. I find it hard not to focus on anything though, you might see me doing something else in classes. That's usually because it's just hard to concentrate on what the teacher is saying, my mind starts to wander if I don't do something else too."

Min-seo smiled and nodded, her pinky still intertwined with Elena's. "The same happens to me. I start thinking about something else, and then everything goes downhill from there. I do try and focus the best I can, though."she said with a smile still on her face.

"I'm sure you could pull off some eyeliner. I'm going to get lots of black eyeliner, can't run out too quickly, if you have an aesthetic, then you've got to keep it going right?"

Min-seo tilted her head to the side. "Could I? Maybe not too much, though. And I think my aesthetic is........what do people call it? Kawaii? Isn't that Japanese? Anyways, maybe a cuter style." she said.

"Hey, uh, what kind of thing would you want for Christmas, I um, I don't really know what to get you. I thought maybe a little book to put your photos in but I don't know if you already have one of those, so I wanted to ask."

Min-seo's eyes widened. "No, actually I don't have one, I've been wanting to get one for years. I think I have a present in mind for you, but it's a secret."she said with a smile.

So other people had that issue? She'd read a book once where one of the characters needed to do more than one thing to be able to focus. He was from an apocalypse planet so his brain was always really vigilant, it manifested itself in that thing, what was it? Hyperactivity, maybe Elena had something like that, ever since she left the streets it had become harder and harder to sit still, as if she was still looking around for targets or threats. It was why she played music so often, and fidgeted while she was reading, if she was doing something that required focus then it was very difficult. Music took a bunch of moving parts, so that was easier, it was also why she danced while she did it.

Elena smiled softly at Min-seo, "I'll definitely have to get you one then, what's your favourite colour?"

Elena started tapping out a tune on her arm, "It's nice to see someone else has the same thing, I was thinking of getting something to help me focus, like maybe an earbud or something. It would be pretty cool to hear music at the same time, that usually helps when I'm studying. Do you have any tips? I know break isn't that far away, but it's still a bit difficult to focus sometimes."
