Like a Mirror
Amber was walking down the corridors with her books in her bookbags like usual when she decided to sit down and read. She had no upcoming classes for about an hour so she let herself slip into that fantasy world that was books. She flipped the pages and met knights and princesses, fought dragons and befriended them too. She turned to another book about an underwater city and started to delve into an ocean of battles and undertows. Suddenly to world seemed to spring up around her and the adventure truly started.
The queen of the city had been captured and she and her partner had been tasked to find her, everyone was counting on her and she was stressed. Her partner wrapped his loving arms around her and told her that she would be ok. They set out on their journey and their beautiful tails moved the water away from her and allowed them to pass through. the water engulfed her body and felt cool and crisp on her soft skin. Eventually, they reached a large cave where they heard the snoring of a hydra.
They had tried to sneak past the cave before they realized the queen was trapped in a cage in the hydra's den. They had to find a way to get her out but how! Suddenly Amber came up with a plan, her partner would distract the beast while Amber swam in to get the queen out of there. Her partner called out to the hydra loudly while Amber his behind the cave wall. When the beast came out Amber darted in and found a rock to help break the lock. She broke it and then swam out quickly to her partner.
They darted from rock to rock before they finally lost the hydra. They went back to the city and became great heroes to their kingdom. Then everything faded away and Amber realized that she was back in the hallways and it had only been 5minutes because of how short the story was. Amber got another book out and started to read that, delving into another fantasy world.
