Early Breakfast
David closed the loop on his mental map of the game. So the Quaffle would probably switch possession on scores, otherwise it could probably only switch teams if the person dropped it after being hit by a Bludgeon or due to an interception. The latter was more consistent from the rules of football. Overall, the game didn't seem to complex on the surface. There was definitely an element of misdirection. If the Snitch ended the game, then it was possible for a Seeker to catch it and still lose.
The most difficult part of the game would have to be keeping ones senses in the heat of the moment. Unlike most normal sports, the person would have to be aware of their surroundings in every direction as opposed to a flat plane. An offensive movement could come from the front, back, left right, above, and below.
As a whole, playing Quidditch seemed pretty unappealing to David. He already wasn't the sporty type of kid and it seemed like Quidditch would be a lot more demanding of him in that respect, perhaps far more than any other sport. What's more the pressure he would feel to perform in front of a crowd would be pretty unbearable. The vision of a crowd booing as he tumbled form his broom to the ground below was nightmarish.
The other boy seemed quite passionate about the sport. David had little doubt he would hear about the other's Quidditch tryout for the school and, judging the boy's passion alone, he would probably make the cut. "I hope you make it!" David said. "I'm sure Hufflepuff wouldn't mind having a really good seeker on the team. Do you know anyone else that's going to try out? I'd like to know ho to look out for during the game!"

Early Breakfast
David was really nice to Miko which made him feel good. His green eyes shone and the boy thanked him. "Thanks, David! I do too. But I have no idea who else will tryout, sorry." he thanked the other. The Hufflepuff guessed David would just have to cheer for the Hufflepuff Quidditch Team alone which was fine since it was his house! It's true he most likely would make it, but things happen so it might not happen. Anyways that's what he was most nervous about, people thinking he was bad or booing him during the game.
"So tell me, what's your favorite food?" he asked while still filling his face with food, being careful not to talk with food in his mouth. The young boy fixed his hair having forgotten to comb it this morning so it was a bit crazy compared to David's. Well normally his hair was crazy so combing it did nothing, he guessed he should just give up soon as it was wasting his time. To Miko it looked as if the other boy's favorite food was bacon judging by the amount of it compared to the other food on his plate. More like leftover food he guessed.

Early Breakfast
David thought it was a bit disappointing that he couldn't find out who else might be auditioning for the Quidditch Team, but that could perhaps be excused by how early int he year it was and the fact that Miko was a first-year much like himself. Not knowing everyone and their business was hardly fair to expect of someone else. He reached for his toast and was surprised to find out that it had gone cold, he hadn't realized how long he had been talking to the other boy, when his contemplation was interrupted by the other Hufflepuff's question.
"Favorite Food?" he repeated back. "That's an easy one, my dad is from America and one of the things he likes to make is some hamburgers with french fries. It's not really expected of British people to eat stuff like that over here, so it's always been kind of like a special thing he does. He even takes the time to cut some potatoes into his own fries and makes the patties himself." Talking about home suddenly made David feel wistful to be back there again. Hogwarts was an adventure, for sure, but he had never been away from his parents for this long and he definitely felt homesick.
Trying his best to focus on the present conversation, David tossed the question back towards the other student. "What about you? What's your favorite food?" He paused, waiting for an answer before shifting the subject to school since classes were going to start soon. "What's your favorite class, also? Other than Flying, I guess." No doubt the other buy probably favored Flying Class if he was a Quidditch enthusiast, but having some other insight about what classes he might like would be interesting.
David inwardly mused at the way things were progressing. This was almost like a normal conversation. At home, he never really got along well with his classmates. He never fought with them, but he mainly kept his distance because he didn't feel like he belonged. However, now, this mundane conversation exchanging interests, favorite foods, and talking about classes in the magical castle was entirely refreshing and new for him. Perhaps the magical qualities of the castle had rubbed off on him, adding to his mounting confidence of being able to keep a respectable pace with his classes in Hogwarts, despite coming form a completely different kind of world. Whichever it was, the novelty of his everyday life was not something David would take for granted.
