"I'm glad you trust me..."

Elena's eyes went wide, she'd in fact been treating the other girl like she trusted her, the realisation had snuck up on her. Something Elena Jones had learned was not to trust people unless you've known them for a long time, yet somehow she was already smiling and laughing and trusting others. The fog of London was lifting from around her and the happy kind spirit that she'd kept locked up was peeking out, although it would likely be a while before she was completely free.

Min-seo’s nickname seemed nice, happy. A little bit more normal than anything else that had happened so far, and above all else it made Elena feel something that she hadn’t ever felt before. Friendship, that someone would talk to her because they want to, not because they had nothing better to do or because they wanted something was new. It felt nice.

"El... I like it! Good choice." She smiled and nodded, "I think you’d be good in Ravenclaw, I heard that it's in a really tall tower, it's meant to be really beautiful, you'll fit right in. If you don't get into Ravenclaw I hope we get into the same house, that way we could maybe hang out a bit more. If you want, I think you're pretty cool."

"El... I like it! Good choice." She smiled and nodded, "I think you’d be good in Ravenclaw, I heard that it's in a really tall tower, it's meant to be really beautiful, you'll fit right in. If you don't get into Ravenclaw I hope we get into the same house, that way we could maybe hang out a bit more. If you want, I think you're pretty cool."

Min-seo smiled. "I'm glad you like it. I would love the tower. It seems quite free. My brother is in Ravenclaw, he's super smart. And I would love to hang out more with you. You're super nice. Actually one of the first friends I've had in my whole lifetime. I wasn't out much as a child." she said. She looked outside. The sun was starting to set. She took out her Polaroid camera again. "El, look! It's amazing! I wish that I could be outside, running through the tan grass and just looking at it......sorry I'm rambling. I just love it so much." she said with a big smile on her face. She took a picture, and it was coming out again, the picture still not formed. She looked at it, waving it in the air for it to form faster.

Friends. The word was associated with the ragtag group of street kids that pulled wool over the blue haired girl's eyes and tried to keep it there, but in that moment it changed, the image got replaced with Min-seo's smiling face. With chocolate frogs and polaroid pictures. Elena looked at the other girl, not even trying to hide the affection in her eyes, "You're one of the first real friends I think I've ever properly had, and I'm honoured to be yours."

Elena's eyes widened at the view, the different colours of the sunset seemed to swirl in the sky as if they were dancing, and the grass seemed to try and reflect all the orange shades in the sky. The light passed through the trees that she saw as the train passed by, "You're not rambling, I understand. It's one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen."

Min-seo was still shaking the photo, and Elena looked curiously over her shoulder to try and see how the picture turned out. If it was even half as beautiful as the real thing then she would have an award winning photograph. Somehow this day had become even more perfect, if that was possible.

Min-seo looked at the blue-haired girl.

"You're one of the first real friends I think I've ever properly had, and I'm honoured to be yours."

Min-seo smiled. I'm honored to be yours too. And again, pretty much you're the first friend I've ever had. Thank you," she said still smiling and waving the picture.

"You're not rambling, I understand. It's one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen."

Min-seo nodded. I bet the sunrise is also beautiful. The only problem is that I suck at getting up early, so I probably would miss it." she said with a giggle. The photo was becoming more clear, and she got a clear shot at the sun, so it was almost exactly like it, except it was better in real life. She smiled as it formed into its final state. It was beautiful. The sun was perfectly halfway down and the rays were an orange and the clouds were slightly pink, like cotton candy or something, Min-seo did not know. She looked at Elena who was behind her and smiled. She showed her the picture. "It actually turned out pretty good. I've tried taking photos of sunsets but they've never turned out like this."

Elena's eyes scanned the picture, it was almost an exact copy of the skyline. The shutter speed was high enough that Min-seo had managed to pause an exact moment, the trees seemed to stand still for her. She smiled, "It's amazing. Maybe the camera just had to wait for the right sunset, the universe is annoying but sometimes it pushes things in the right direction. Like making a good day even better by giving you something cool."

"We should be getting close to the castle." Elena peered out of the window again, "It's September so sunset should be at about eight or nine pm. Let's say eight thirty, break the difference. Which means since the curfew is at ten pm..."

If you looked closely you could see the gears turning in Elena's eyes as she calculated, "About an hour for dinner maybe? Unless they've pushed the curfew back, we should be there in about half an hour!"

Elena looked very proud of herself for figuring it all out, "Hooray for mathematics, and some astronomy, well more like vague weather knowledge. I miss early nightfalls though, it'd be nice to see the stars. In Winter the sun rises really late, maybe we could go watch it together, you could get another picture."

Min-seo watched the top of the sun finally disappeared from view.

"It's amazing. Maybe the camera just had to wait for the right sunset, the universe is annoying but sometimes it pushes things in the right direction. Like making a good day even better by giving you something cool."

Min-seo nodded. "Maybe it made me wait to take it with a friend, like you," she said. She tucked her hair behind her ear and looked at some of the forming stars in the sky.

"Hooray for mathematics, and some astronomy, well more like vague weather knowledge. I miss early nightfalls though, it'd be nice to see the stars. In Winter the sun rises really late, maybe we could go watch it together, you could get another picture."

Min-seo smiled. "You would go with me to see it? she said as she bounced up and down. She gave her a quick hug. Thank you!" she said with a big grin as she let go. She was super happy today. She saw a station come up in front of them. "Is this where we get off? I think it is, it seems like it." she asked as the train got slower.

Elena frowned, it looked like the train ride was almost over, she didn’t really want it to end though. Part of her was hoping she could keep riding the train and talking to Min-seo forever, but that was a dream that couldn’t come true.

“Thank you, for sitting with me on the train Min. It’s been amazing.” Elena smiled at her.

“Yeah, we are slowing down, looks like we’re almost done with the train ride.” Elena looked out the window, “I’m a bit nervous, and I know this may sound weird, but is there any chance we could maybe stick together for a little while? I just don’t really know what to do, or how to behave, is there any special magic handshakes or bowing or anything I should know?”

Elena pulled her robe back on again, and looked around a little bit nervously, a magical school was daunting, and the distraction that the train ride had brought was slipping away. Elena somehow still felt free though, she’d made a friend, her first friend in fact. A beautiful, sweet, and kind friend that she couldn’t help but want to stand next to and chat and make her smile the same way that the beautiful sunset had.

Min-seo sighed. She was kind of nervous. She didn't know what it was like here, and she'll be going here until she is 17.

“Thank you, for sitting with me on the train Min. It’s been amazing.”

Min-seo smiled at her. "Thank you, too. It was amazing talking to you."

Her hands started to tremble from how nervous she was. She'd never been away from home before. But she knew that her brother said it was beautiful, so she was trying to keep being optimistic.

“Yeah, we are slowing down, looks like we’re almost done with the train ride.” Elena looked out the window, “I’m a bit nervous, and I know this may sound weird, but is there any chance we could maybe stick together for a little while? I just don’t really know what to do, or how to behave, is there any special magic handshakes or bowing or anything I should know?”

Min-seo looked at her and smiled. "I would love to stick together, I'm actually so nervous myself. And I don't think you need to know and handshakes or bows, as far as I know, and I don't really know much." she said, still trembling a little. The train came to a complete stop, and Min-seo stood up. She looked back at Elena. "El? Are you coming?" she said, holding out her hand.

This was it, the train ride was over and the school was so nearby. Her life had been hard for so long, but this school was the answer to her prayers. Everything she’d ever wanted or needed could be given to her just because of that letter, and she held out hope, deep in her heart that maybe she wouldn’t have to leave it.

The other girl looked nervous, and was shaking a little bit, Elena couldn’t help but try and smile at her, comforting people was one of the things she liked doing, adding a little bit of joy to the world.

Elena looked at Min-seo, her first real friend, her only real friend. A princess in all but title, and one of the nicest people Elena thought she’d ever meet. They were both nervous, and a little bit worried about what was to come, what house they’d be sorted into, and how they’d do in the school. If they would make friends or enemies, or if they’d be completely alone.

Elena resolved that as long as they had each other, then they couldn’t be alone, and so she took Min-seo’s outstretched hand and gave it a small reassuring squeeze , “Of course, lead the way Princess Min!”
